I bought this same combo on Easter Sunday,used it yesterday and caught two bass!! Excellent combo.
The packaging was fantastic!!
Honestly I have around 16 baitcasters. Abu. Shimano. And lews. I use the lews classic more than any of my others. Just an all around good to for everything.
Same here man I just bought 6 of the the reels and put them on different lew's rod there not the same rod there different lengths
I got mine at Walmart for 35$. Weird thing is I got a cork handle one. Is that the im6 rod??
I’m actually not sure, I’d have to check. That’s weird that yours has a different rod. Might be a different combo 🤔

Came across a display on a back end CAP in Walmart, $35.00. Wasn't thinking much about it and as wife and I were walking away, I just glanced at my phone and on the Lew's Community Group, someone mentioned they just got one at WM, also for $35.00 and was a decent combo. Wife wanted one as I don't let her use my higher end rods/reels. Picked it up, about to disassemble, lube/grease it and spool it up with some braid and see how it does for her.
Heck yeah. Dude ya can’t go wrong with this setup. And the braid is the way to go 👍

What hooks do you use?
I just got mine in the mail today. I have not been able to adjust the brakes because they are so tight. I might try some pliers tomorrow.
Yeah that should work. That’s weird though, mine were easy to move
. @Sk8Riffer @jxbx80 I bought one of these as my first baitcaster. The brakes were really tight on mine as well. It casts really well and has been a great learning combo. Definitely can't beat the $35-$40 pricetag.
I like the cork on the pole I just got one with the cork don't like the fome. Not classic style to me. I got my Lew's classic in Walmart for $$35 only in store on clearance great buy for any price point.
Is this a good cranking combo ?
Yeah you can adjust your speed by how fast you reel

I got that red smash combo i love that thing, and i used to use 40 oound braid but now i only use around 15 or 20 pound braid,i also picked up the lews american hero baitcasters gor 50 dollars at dicks today on sale

@@Sk8Riffer so I just got this combo and some hookups today on it, 15 lb braid might bite into itself on the reel I think 30 is the lowest. I spooled up 30 lb hi-viz and am getting damn near 100 foot casts with a 1/4 ounce lure. This combo feels almost like a mach lmao and for $40 dollars seems like an absolute steal. Yeah it's a 6.4 ratio and not the 7.5 like the 'pro' one but I don't care, way better value and not a lot of bass up here so I'm snagging up trout on it. Excellent combo (in my mind)
@@escapetherace1943 Appreciate that info. I was wondering what would be too much! 30 wasn’t on my radar because I haven’t used it before but I’ll grab some. Did you use mono as backing?
@@ceothraxx2872 I don't use a backing, never had issues without it even though I've tried it. You may want thicker than 30 though

Tension was set where if you hit the thumb button it doesn’t drop down unless you jiggle it a bit and brakes were halfwayish
