Love how this is coming along, I actually love the dark ones in the center but I know that what ever you decide will make a gorgeous quilt. thanks for sharing 😍
Very welcome part 2 is up now
Neat and tidy..... My new favorite line.... Thank you for sharing your approach to scrap quilting. 🍄🍄
You are very welcome
Thank you for the cutting advice, it will save me a lot of fabric❤❤
You are welcome
I love the way you approach quilting, you are very talented woman and you should be proud of yourself.❤️
Ahhh Margaret thank such a lovely comment thank you hope I have given you some ideas
I like that you save the scraps, waste not, want not .
Hi from Indiana, USA. Made a string quilt and thought how to use more of them. Something different. Wow! This is an inspiration!
I love scrappy quilts. Thanks for the idea. If I had the special fabrics, I would scatter them instead of putting them in a row. I would put two in the left upper corner and a single one in the bottom right corner,
Great idea
Very creative, Karen. Thx! I look fwd to the next vid. Love your content. 😊💛
I love your creativity. I'm always looking for new ideas to use up those scraps.
Cut the top and use the triangles you cut off on the bottom, the dark squares in the center i think distract from the beauty of the pieced diamonds , but I am looking forward to seeing your beautiful quilt finished . Thank you for making these tutorials you inspire us all. John in Massachusetts USA
Yes I would be incline to agree the dark does distract the presenting of the quilt
This is a great idea! Thank you for the idea. 🎉
Hello Karen from the USA in Texas.
I have to make one!!! I adore this quilt and love the tutorial.
Please do!
This is lovely!!! Thank you
You are very welcome
Do you have enough of the dark fabric to cut diamonds and use it for the outside edges? It would frame the quilt.
Good idea also I live the idea of the diamond solid flour to the end
Beautiful.
I think it may be easier if you make a tube and then cut.❤
Not sure that will work but explain I’d love to hear more
Hi Karen, it works. I learned it from Kate of The Last Homely House. She did a yt video on 14 Aug 2022, where she explained to her daughter in law, Anna.
The tube makes it so that you just make 2 cuts (instead of 4) to get your shape.
🤔 I’m intrigued… I love having varied techniques in my arsenal - and a diamond quilt has been on my list for a while. Kate at LHH did 45 degrees on a ruler with the tube technique. The resulting blocks were squares, not diamonds. But, we could adjust it to use the 60-degree line instead which should result in a diamond shape? 🤔
Or fold strip set in half length wise without making a tube & use the 60-degree on the ruler, or only the top half of the diamond template.
I think all are worth trying to see which we like best 😅😊
I did something similar but I used my tri recs rulers, much smaller diamonds of course but I really like the effect. I love your large diamond quilt, scrappy quilts are the best.
An unusual pattern but beautiful Thanks.
Very nice of you to bless me with a super thanks much appreciated
Karen, can you cut the top and side cream diamonds in half and turn them around and use them on the sides. That will leave the sides straight. The dark diamonds look pretty good. They define the center of the quilt. You are so creative. ❤
Thank you Maureen
Pick a solid color from the strips and do end triangles to square up the edges. Yes the the dark diamonds do stand out
Thanks!
Wow thank you very much
Great idea
❤👋❤
You had that other piece of cream that you put in the scrap can you get tone more out of that for the bottom diamonds.🐝🐝🇳🇿
Yes I had to go back and get it lol
❤
I guess you are using the long ruler on top to save the template, but I have never seen that done before. You usually cut from the template.
To prevent it from moving as I mention it was sliding on the fabric
where do I find the template for the diamond?
I will upload the template soon with the pattern I will do a post so that you know
thank you and Happy Easter@@CraftyQuiltingDesigns
Had to turn the volume off. The podcast was annoying and I didn’t want the miss the finallayout
