Loud music is the professionals' way of covering what she lacks. The choice of songs with monotone melody also covers her lack of range. All these tricks of the trade along with top notch equipment are what allow her to record and look good on stage. Without all that she may have sang more like her grandmother, Gladys. I think many of us expected better because she's Elvis' daughter but she's also Gladys' granddaughter.

Nothing like her dad. Let’s not go there. She couldn’t have been less like him and rightfully so. She was an individual who had her own personality and her own identity. She said herself she was nothing like him. Why WHY do people do that to a person? What do they get out of it? She was just as she should have been. A unique person in her own right.
Such a shame she started her singing career so late! She was 35 when she releaed her first album. Had she had the self confidence to go for it while still in her teens in the late 80s, with her incredible looks and obvious talent I'm convinced she'd have been a massive star.

You know...bitchy.” Well, I think she looks sultry, sexy and beautiful. I’m a woman and I would give anything to look like her. She does have her own professional vocal abilities. She was just afraid she would get compared to her father… Or at one point in her life… Michael Jackson. And she also thought that people would think she never made it on her own talent, but would ‘allow’ her to make a record,just because she was the daughter of one and the wife of the other. Never mind Nicolas Cage… Who is friends with her to this day. If you really think about it, they both had to make their way in this world with very famous fathers. I could see the connections in those relationships. Just because they didn’t last, does not give anybody the right to tear her apart. She was young and living in the crazy world of always being compared to this person, judged by these people, people either hated or loved her - no in between… And she’s just a human, like you and me. People just love to stomp other people down. People are simply jealous. When you look at someone who is beautiful inside and out and does have talent… People try to say rotten things to make themselves feel better. Her style is nothing like her father’s nor is it like MJ’s. She has her own… And it is unique I, for one, am very impressed!.
