For the sanding part, I line a cup with sandpaper and swirl the pencil around in it. It collects all the graphite powder in the cup. You can simply tap the cup to make the graphite powder fall out of the grooves of the sandpaper and into the cup.
Thank you so much, sir! I have learned this in my art school, but now resuming with my art again after a 5-year gap, I found a lot of inspiration from just the way you sharpen the pencil. :)
nice vid i have a pencil sharped like this too...but keep in mind that you have to get a high guality pencil like faber castel or it will break very easly
holy moly, i've done that 2 days before this video, that means i was already a boss, but watching this video made me more of a boss, cuz you made it and i can totally relate to loving the process of sharpening the pencil that way
I like your teaching method. Putting people at ease, and in a quick, almost effortless manner, bringing an idea to life. You are a true professional. Good work, and thank you.

That was so cool and very helpful to me. I'm going to purchase my 1st sandpaper and razor to sharpen pencils/graphite ect. Yep I'm very new. I'll learn so much from you. Many thanks for your instructions. It's always been such a bummer to have pencils break in the sharpners. Ineffective, frustrating and so wasteful. This method seems so much better. I'll keep patient during the most definite learning curve time. Be well 😀
Just buy 2mm clutch lead holder, Staedtler/faber castell. +buy lead pointer sharpener or use the one integrated in the pen. Sharpening wooden pencil is obsolete.
I thank you. Very good video, informatively. thanks to you I have learned what skin to apply. P 320 is necessary. and others it is possible? have you come to it experimentally?
This seems to be the common use now. Im in college learning all this, so it would be a nice thing to experiment with and to see if I like it. I always just used a sharpener to do it. It seems my dad likes it too, so I might.
Had a chuckle over those words of wisdom for safety They are probably more effective than most My sharpener is it doing well but is the lead already fractured or am I doing it when I use the sharpener

The title : How to Sharpen a Pencil Like a Boss (for Drawing) - Nailed it!
The description is really helpful since I needed to know what brand the charcoal pencil is, Great vid btw!
Your voice is so calm and the accent is so nice that it seems like this is so easy but I almost cut myself haha
Use a clutch pencil. Then you can extend the lead as far as you want without all the work. Of course it looks less fancy, but it is more pratical
That is a practical solution!
It breaks easily

Save the graphite from the sandpaper in a small container so you can use it for sharing w/ brushes. Especially on bigger drawings.
Awesome thanks for the sand paper tip!
