this video was so helpful!! hearing everything you have said i really align with what tulane looks for bc i'm a legacy, started a community service org, have visited campus, etc, but i guess it's just up to them to decide now lol. i applied ea but i learned about the switch to edII today and i'm so glad that's there in case i get deferred! also i'm a ballet dancer haha
Heyyy, I was just wondering what sort of classes you took in high school and what grades you got (act, sat, gpa) just stuff like that so I can get a better idea of what to expect if I apply. Thanks!!!
i took a mix of honors and regular class with 3 ap classes throughout my last two years of high school. i think my gpa was around a 3.6/3.7 and my act was a 30. hope this helps:)
wait hi I'm watching this right now cuz I am binging a bunch of Tulane youtube videos!! I was actually just deferred from Tulane, and I am considering doing ED 2. I am also coming down for a tour before the decision date so I can see the campus, but your story sounds so similar to my situation right now because I was just accepted to Providence College and I am considering it as well. ED is such a big commitment so what made Tulane a clear choice over Providence and other schools?? lol sorry this is probs so random I just need help deciding what to do
Elizabeth Whelan hi elizabeth!! a huge thing that made me decide to change my application to ED2 after getting deferred was that i knew i wouldn’t get into tulane if i went RD. i had heard that the class before mine had a RD acceptance rate of 0% and then my class had a really low acceptance rate for RD. if you were deferred it probably means you’re a good candidate but they want you to commit to the school before accepting you. tulane has such a great atmosphere and the people who go there absolutely love it (it always falls somewhere within like the top 5 on surveys for happiest students lol). as for providence, sooo many people from my high school go to there every year since it’s such a great place and it’s pretty close to where i live (it’s about an hour drive). i was actually surprised by how much i liked providence because i was positive i didn’t want to go to college in new england but it ended up being in my top 3 lol. it was always in the back of my mind that i wanted to go somewhere different from where i grew up so that was what ultimately pushed tulane and CU boulder higher up on my list. when i visited campus i loved it and felt at home there but i kind of felt like it was too far within my comfort zone and i wanted to push myself a little bit more if that makes sense. when i saw tulane’s campus it made me so excited but also nervous (which i thought was a good thing since i wanted something different from where i grew up). and new orleans is definitely different from massachusetts haha idk if this helped at all but lmk if you have any more questions!! i’d be happy to answer them😊
Kiara Harrast i applied EA and when i got deferred i switched my application to ED2 which is essentially the same thing as ED but the deadline is in january.
omg i got accepted into the class of 2025 today!!
Desiree CONGRATS!!!! lmk if you have any questions!! and totally reach out when you get to campus next year:)))
