I bought my 2015 Accord EXL brand new. It is just about to turn 110,000 miles. The paint is better on the EXL than base car although my white pearl metallic had some peeling around the rear Window. I had gone through 2 batteries, 2 alternators, sealed bearing on driveshaft had to be replaced. The leather seat has worn and replacement leather not available new. I sold Honda bikes and cars in the 1970's and this is my 8th Accord. I usually put on 250,000 to 350,000 miles then get a new one. I save my money and when I get a new one pay cash for it. Dealers sometimes make more money for arranging financing than selling the car. Don't finance a car, buy a junker or fix your old ride and you will save lots of $
I have a 2013 EX sedan and I just love it! I previously owned a 2002 Accord EX sedan that was getting up there in miles so I gave that one to my daughter and bought myself the 2013 when it was 4 years old w/ 20k miles. I love that the 9th gen looks very much like the 6th gen. There are some things that the old car had that I wish the new one did (I liked the conventional automatic over the CVT, the old car's double wishbone suspension handled better than these McPherson struts, and I feel like the electric steering in the new car is light and vague compared to the old car). Overall, I am happy with this car and it has held up well in styling and quality. I think it looks much better than the Accord generations that have followed, specifically the new 11th gen. Just my opinion.
One little thing that bothers me about my this car. Whenever you press the cruise control + it takes a long time to accelerate or decelerate, but if I press cancel and then push the gas the acceleration is fine
I bought my 2015 Sport brand new. It has 223k miles on it now. I just replaced the alternator around 175k miles and the water pump didn’t go bad until just recently at 223k miles. I do most my maintenance myself. Simple stuff like oils change , brakes/rotors, spark plugs, pcValue and the cabin air filter. Absolutely best car I’ve owed. Hopefully I can get another 200k
Great Review , the good , mediocre and what not . I’ve never owned one before but I just bought one at a great price as a second car . It’s kind of a long distance transaction so I won’t see it until I pick it up in a few days and pay the balance. I’m looking forward to picking it up very much now . Nothing is going to be perfect but I’ve always heard good things about Hondas . Thanks for posting !👍
i also have the 2015 accord, i totally agree with your comment about the paint quality . HONDA is kind of notorious about its paint job. stone chips on my car are deep enough to show bare metal at some spots. Especially right above the front bumper and on the rear doors on both sides.
Most accord owner's priorities are like #1 Reliability, Safety, Comfort, practicality and fun factor. Unfortunately Hondas are prone to easily scratch and dent. Honda has yet to develop a proper paint for their cars, I am looking at brand new Accords and factory pain-job looks like crap and seems like it just came out of a body-shop with the orange peel effect. Not smooth like you see on European vehicles.. Regardless, I think the 9-gen accord is one of the nicest designs Honda ever developed and produced.
There are definitely some paint issues Honda needs to sort out, I agree with you that the 9th gen Accord is one of the cleanest modern Honda designs. Thanks for watching!
Just found this video today! I bought my Champagne Frost 2015 Accord EX in May 2021.... So far, I've only had to replace the battery & I do the oil changes when the "wrench" comes on the dashboard... My 2015 Accord ONLY had 28,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2021, Wow-- very low miles!!! Question- I'm not clear if the car really needs any fluids (coolant/transmission) "flushed" or not? 🤔 A Honda owner told me its better NOT to do that..? Also, have you needed to do any major repairs at all over the years? I'm planning to keep my Accord as long as possible!
What I dislike about the Accord is the ride quality and cabin noise. No offense, but I think Honda fans have low standards for good ride & noise-dampening quality. The Malibu is crap but it is a lot quieter and more smooth-riding.
Great in-depth review. Any problems with the CVT? The CVT in this Accord put me off for a while, but after reading your review, I am looking forward to getting a pre-owned one.
Thanks for watching! No issues at all so far with the CVT with over 150,000km. The car as a whole has been extremely reliable and quite enjoyable for a mid-size sedan! Good choice
I’ve been offered a 2014 Accord (same gen) with 112,000 miles (180246 km) for slightly under KBB value. The only thing I’m concerned about is the CVT. Is it still holding up fine? I’ve heard Honda has the best CVTs on the market. I’m just having a hard time making a decision.
@@edgaryzen4925 Its a good car, but acel is slower since CVT. Depending on model rim/tire cost is something to consider if you drive alot or have pothole roads. GL
@@lov2cyanaked thank you. Make sense. I’m a huge fan of the 13-17 Accord LX. I love smaller tyres for max fuel economy. I think 16” is perfect for commuter who see it as an “appliance”. Ill probably give it a chance
Haha, thanks man! Just a tough pill to swallow considering the 2016 mid model change had CarPlay :(. The Canadian LX model actually came with these 17 inch wheels. Thanks for watching!
@@TheAuto101 Interesting! I know the Accord sport is also way more loaded, saw it when I drove up there with mine Just get a phone mount for $15 and no need for car play 👍

I drove my 2015 accord Lx from Pennsylvania to Canada Ontario and it was such a fun drive and didn’t get any issue plus with a good fuel consumption.
Wow, that's a long drive, but I'm sure it was enjoyable. the Accord is a great long distance cruiser. Thanks for watching!

I’m going to go look at one today as daily driver for construction job we drive all over the state I think I’m sold on it it’s perfect

Yeah, always quicker to adjust the cruise with braking and accelerator. Thanks for watching, André!
Thank you

Have you replaced the timing belt ? that is a cost some other cars with timing chains don't have.

did you make a decision
I had an 05 XB and found the seat was too high for my short legs and the Corolla seats killed my ass. Do u think an accord would be a good alternative
I don’t take car of my accord like I should it’s so reliable it’s scary never had an issue beside somone putting sugar in my tank
Does it have issue with the legs like other Honda
Honestly, Is 42+ MPG possible in city commuting ie 5 miles trip from point a to b?
city driving probably 18-25, highway is were you would get 30+.
@@lov2cyanaked thank you. Guess I better lower my expectations on this car.

What is that elephant toy by the top imid display? What does it do? Does it come standard with the lx?
Also is it a 4 or 6 banger?
most came standard with a 4 cylinder but some had optional V6 engines
How did you get single zone ac in a Canadian accord?!
This is the LX model - base in Canada. Thanks for watching!
@@TheAuto101 our 9th Gen LX in 2015 was still dual zone in the USA
I look mine ❤
Driver legroom?
Sold amount of driver leg room for avg to above avg height. Roominess is a strong suit of the Accord. Thanks for watching!
This car is plenty big and holds more than many new fangled so-called SUVs, that don't hold 3 carry ons.
Any oil burning with the earth dreams engine ?
None that I’ve experienced yet at 160,000kms. Thanks for watching!
Thanks good to know
Yup, mine burns about 1/2 quart every 1,500 miles
Not oil burning.
But, yes, evaporation/consumption.
Great engine. Smooth. Powerful. Refined. Just check the oil level. NBD
It's not all sunshine and roses :)
Is this V6???
This is the 4cyl version!
2015 exl v6 peeling paint and road noise 😮
I get 42.6 mpg through mountains.
Let's get you monetized soon Lmao considering this car came out in 2012, asking for CarPlay is a bit much
