I was once on the Doctor Who section of Wikipedia and was reading out how the creators didn't want people to think the Doctor and his companions were "together", so they made the Doctor out to be an Asexual character. They literally used the word "Asexual", and I was like "what is that?" Even though I was familiar with it the term in relation to plants. So I clicked on it, read it and was like wide eyed and thought "yes! That's what I am." I had come to the realization and conclusion of who I was well before being able to put a label to it. Much later I learned that there were many other sexualities under the "Asexual", umbrella.

@@cloudthief8918 All fans of Doctor Who have parts that they don't like. There is a lot to get into, variety is the spice... so what I'm actually saying is I like MOST of Peter Capaldi's run. Some moments and writing choices... such as that one... were a bit off colour for me. He did warn us he was silly. Both he and Matt Smith's Doctor's had that in common. I really don't mind some variation around the Doctor's ace-ness. We don't suffer a time dialation problem like with Captain James Kirk, the time between the doctor's marriages is an unbroken ace record. (Over 900 years till David Tennant.) Chibnall also managed to keep the Doctor ace. There was a fabulous episode that addressed it, the time loop with Daleks one. Loved that. Such heart rendering moments in that one.
You know, this video has me thinking I may not be Demisexual but Cupiosexual. Thinking back, as much as I wanted to feel what sexual attraction is, I never could even with former partners. I didn’t realize a micro label like Cupiosexual existed until now, I think I understand myself a little bit better 💛
As an AroAce person I’m glad you actually clarified the difference between Asexual and Aromantic, because so many people seem to blur the lines between Sexual and Romantic attraction (which I get why since they’re easy to cross over together, especially in an allosexual narrative).
Seeing Fictosexual being included made me really happy, a lot of people don't take us seriously and think we are just making it up, for us they aren't just fictional characters, they are also our friends and irreplaceable life partners. Personally it's specifically because these characters aren't real that makes me interested in them, once they become real I'm not interested anymore XD

Labels that are useful for me are aegosexual, and maybe greysexual (as in it happens very rarely and at a low level, like hearing a sound somewhere in the distance, but I believe I've felt it). I think an interesting thing to note as well is that asexuals can engage in sex for their own reasons (intimacy, feeling good, for the sake of a partner etc.) without that meaning anything about their level of sexual attraction. Asexuals that have sex are still asexual, as long as they never (or only very rarely) experience sexual attraction.
This actually helped explain a lot, this video helped answer some questions I had when it came to asexuality and I think I agree I prefer just going to asexual since it seems a few of those microlables. Asexual is just a good way to explain how you usually and then if you ever get a partner then you go into the more finer details if needed

I had no idea there were more should I say ''subgenres'' when it came to asexuality. I was doubting a lot if I actually *was* asexual or not and this explained it very nicely. This is really good to know and it makes me happy that I finally have something that I 100% resonate with. I'll definitely still say that I am asexual since it makes things easier to explain. I'm demisexual and demiromantic but I identified as asexual for a few years before I realized I'm demi (I never identified as aro because I had a crush before I knew it existed and I had a "I'll let romance come to me" attitude) and I remember when I first started experiencing attraction to my partner I went on a deep search into the spectrum because I had never experienced sexual attraction before.

i'm gray ace and aceflux! aceflux means exactly how ace you are fluctuates, it's actually very similar to the your werewolf metaphor for gray ace. gray ace by itself is a more flexible label that can mean things other from aceflux (feeling attraction at a very low level, or under very specific circumstances). in general, gray ace can be an umbrella term for all other not fully ace acespec identities

From what I know, it means you're sexually attracted to people you've formed an emotional attachment with. This attachment could be romantic/platonic love or in some cases, it might not involve love at all.
This video is really helpful. I knew about the ace spectrum, but I didn’t know everything on this list, and this has helped me get a little closer to what I think I am. I’m but a struggling girl in her high school years surrounded by horny teens who want to make out at the first eye contact 😅 I’m still trying to work out if I’m Demisexual, Aegosexual, (or Fictosexual since I love fictional characters lol), or if I just haven’t found “the one”/a different label that suits me. umm i know that there is a lots of aces over here, and i am currently writing a story whose main character is supposed to represent someone ace. but as someone who isnt ace myself im afraid that im not able to understand it well enough from what i know yet so if someone would tell me things i should avoid or that would be cool if were shown
honestly, as an ace person, we have the ability and it may be nice for some aces but avoid stuff like being desperate for it, it would be cooler if they were romantically attracted to people. If they are aro/ace just simply don't get them involved in a relationship, thats the easy way to go. (I'm not aro/ace i dunno)
The way you explained Demisexual almost combined it with the Demiromantic. Mostly due to the "everyone is not a candidate to become their partner" they're not a candidate to become their SEXUAL partner, they can still have a partner. Due to you explaining the difference of Aro and Ace, I assume this was more as a "I'm talking about sexuality and made the distinction so the viewer should know I mean sexual partner." I'm a Demisexual who is no where on the Aro spectrum (towards NB / Men) and I deal with a lot of people always grouping aro and ace together even after they make the distinction or something.

but as someone who isnt ace myself im afraid that im not able to understand it well enough from what i know yet so if someone would tell me things i should avoid or that would be cool if were shown
honestly, as an ace person, we have the ability and it may be nice for some aces but avoid stuff like being desperate for it, it would be cooler if they were romantically attracted to people. If they are aro/ace just simply don't get them involved in a relationship, thats the easy way to go. (I'm not aro/ace i dunno)
The way you explained Demisexual almost combined it with the Demiromantic. Mostly due to the "everyone is not a candidate to become their partner" they're not a candidate to become their SEXUAL partner, they can still have a partner. Due to you explaining the difference of Aro and Ace, I assume this was more as a "I'm talking about sexuality and made the distinction so the viewer should know I mean sexual partner."
I'm a Demisexual who is no where on the Aro spectrum (towards NB / Men) and I deal with a lot of people always grouping aro and ace together even after they make the distinction or something.
