Let’s hope they do some more editing on the subtitles. I think they do that sometimes- they put out a relatively rough version at first because they know people are eagerly waiting to understand what was said in a live stream, and then they work a little more on the subtitles and make a few touch-ups here and there.

My sense was that Jimin was very giggly because he was trying to hide his emotions and not upset Army. Jk, too, seemed unusually reserved, not talking much, not eating. Yes, RM was was in full leader mode here and V seemed to be the most excited for this new adventure. Loved how they complimented and encouraged each, as usual. We will miss them for sure.
Yes, I also have the impression that when Jimin is very giggly, it's sometimes a sign of insecurity or nervousness, and yes, he's always concerned not to make anyone feel uncomfortable. When I saw JK hiding under a hat AND hood and apparently shrinking smaller and smaller every minute on that sofa, I already suspected that he had cut his hair and was feeling a bit uneasy about that. Of course, he's also the youngest, and when they're together, his role is to let the older guys speak first unless he's asked to speak.
jungkook has always been like that during group lives he’s just quiet and likes to listen more than talk when with people, he’s much more talkative when he’s alone he did a live yesterday and he looked fine
RM often moderates the conversation, whether between the members themselves or between them and the audience. He makes sure everything is kept in balance and the audience gets a nice show to watch (not in the sense of it being set up or fake, but in the sense of being interesting, entertaining and pleasant to watch).

Loved all these young men and proud of them for trying to stay positive about their upcoming military enlistment. Have no doubt that they will all do well. V particularly impressed me here. He seemed genuinely excited about military. Aside from physical requirements, he needed to pass very difficult mental/intelligence tests. He knows that it will be difficult, even said something about being scared of rappelling but he takes a moment to assure Army and asks us to trust him.

I disagree that yoongi is a social butterfly...The only social butterfly in bts is Tae...Yoongi has more work associations than actual friends...he is the kind who wud probably hit someone up to appreciate their work then end up getting a drink with them....Probably never see them again bt stay in touch thru msgs..not exactly bt he just seems that kind..Apart from that i dont think he is really that close with anyone apart from bts..N i think he thrives in that space ...

You mentioned how they do sometimes call out bad behavior when they see things in comments or when fans cross boundaries. I feel like Jimin tries to ignore it. He doesn't address it much--he just doesn't come live much anymore. RM notices inappropriate comments in live streams and has mentioned a few times that it's weird or uncomfortable. V comes and does extremely short livestreams. I sometimes wonder if he cuts them short when he starts seeing inappropriate comments. He has called out fans (I don't even want to call them Army) a few times for crossing boundaries. He's said flat-out that some things have scared him, like when people try to book the same flights that they are on. He recently reassured ARMY that he was ok when a stalker fan was arrested for disturbing him at his home, in the building elevator. JK is actually the most outspoken, IMO. He tells it like it is. He tells these toxic fans to stop sending food to his home, to stop calling his phone, and even cursed when talking about stalkers at his house during his individual live on Dec. 8.
If you watch more of their group lives, JK is actually almost always like this. He speaks SIGNIFICANTLY less than in his own lives and he usually just sits there eating/zoning out/smiling. I’ve seen so many comments saying JK is acting strange in this live but that must be from baby Army since he’s actually pretty much always been like that in group lives over the past 10 years. Why? Logically, it makes sense that he has to talk more when it’s just him doing a live vs when there are 6 other ppl there to fill the air. Also, there are other members who are more extroverted and just talk more. Lastly, he defers to the other members when they’re around, which again is normal simply based on culture.
I think jimin is especially sensitive when it comes to showing his worries and sadness to us specifically concerning this subject, it's not that he doesn't do it but I've noticed that when the mood is off because of these things he tries to smile and laugh a lot to not worry us but we can tell
Agreed. Jimin is more of a typical idol in that sense - and when I say that, I mean, he is more cautious than the other 6 in terms of his image and what he shows to fans. Even RM once said on a talk show that, out of all of them, Jimin is the perfect idol. Of course, BTS as a whole is much more open and genuine than most idols.
Thank you Max for giving context on how the members' dynamics work with Army. This is so rare with other artists that for a 60 y/o jazz enthusiast like me, getting into BTS was a totally rewarding experience, very different and very enriching for me bec BTS taught me to love myself while creating valuable relationships with other Armys especially when you meet an army in the wild, feels like you have an instant connection, an extended family 😊.
Imho, as a mom, I think that there exists an awesome symbiosis between BTS and Army, they give strength to us and we give strength to them. I wasn't saved by them, but they've surely made my day lighter. They act totally different when they do their lives solo. JK is a bit shy when in the group. Jimin's so much laughter got me worried... I think that was a way to hide his sorrow. RM hides his feelings a lot, but he's been suffering a lot because he thinks excessively. Hope the military helps all of them to be lighter with themselves. I think that, at least physically, it has been a good time for Jin and J-'Hope. Yoongi has to be away from us until being released :-( Mentally, I think both of them are feeling stronger, their self-confidence has grown visibly!!
@wendygalvez8658 I wrote nothing about my beloved Tae because I ws talking about shyness, sadness, and introspection. Taetae is showing he knows what he wants. He's conscious about what is in his future, but he's ok with it, no sadness. I remember when Jimin said Tae was the most mature among the members, well, that's what he showed up during the live. I love Tae, or better, I love any of them!!! They all are special human beings, so don't worry if his name wasn't in my original post, ok?.
Jimin gave me dad vibes during a live. He received a phone call and the caller didn’t say anything. Jimin very authoritatively said ARMY STOP IT. I felt chills. Tae has told Army during a live, they need to basically improve their conversational skills. People ask the same questions like the members have not grown up. Jimin use to do a lot of lives a few years ago, but he stopped. My theory is those hateful comments seeped into his being. He had to stop for his mental health. Some random comment someone telling him he is fat. He told the person he is at a great weight. He is not fat. Tae apparently saw a lot of solo Stan comments, so when they were accepting an award, he stated WE ARE SEVEN. RM has had to stand his ground. He was attacked. Accused of Islamic-phobia and told to apologize, he said guys I am not going to apologize. It here is nothing to apologize for. He then went on to say he is almost thirty. I am proud of him. He learned he can not please everyone all of the time. Those who stop supporting BTS, it’s their choice. I am ARMY, I know how respectful the members were in Saudia Arabia. I know RM doesn’t have hate in his heart. Anyone who believes differently doesn’t know RM or BTS.
They got so much hate when they were newer from all sides, and RM carried the burden and protected others. I think Jimin is very nervous for a lot of reasons, and I'm glad he's going with JK. Sometimes I get a sense that he misses his members a lot. JK wasn't eating but he sure was fidgeting with that hood. Tae's excitement surprised me but he's got Wooga squad too, who have all been and advised him.
Please react to a few of Jungkook's long livestreams! His lives go on for hours. It literally feels like you're just casually hanging out with your best friend haha. He even fell asleep and started snoring with millions of us watching him 😂

Great video! I felt that Jimin seemed very nervous about enlisting and sad about having to stop his idol activities for so long which he was trying to keep light hearted with his giggles. JK and Tae were giving him reassurances a lot during the live. Tae on the other hand seems very excited and pumped to enlist. In fact he applied to and was accepted by the hardest division of the military.😮
I agree. Jimin did seem quite nervous to me. I think he has got much shyer over the years when I compare the fairly softly spoken Jimin I see now with the bouncing tough boy of their early years. I wonder if it’s not just understandable nervousness that anyone would face going into completely new territory, but also that he will be with people who will feel they know him, just through seeing him on line. It will be difficult for him to know how to build working relationships with colleagues in such circumstances.

Correct, also I study body language and know what jimin was feeling and thinking before he made the statement in the very last part which no one really paid attention to and it explains so much.in fact everything everyone is trying to conjecture..he didnt giggle at everything nor act incoherent. Jimin is a very deep soul and unfortunately for some they misinterpret lots of things. What you see on the outside is not what is real..I feel sad for jimin because once he was very confident and outgoing and turned into the person you describe., and he will never show us very much because of so many threats and much negativity . Jimin is very sweet, funny, empathic and often the first one to laugh, but he has mixed feelings right now, and his frequent laughter, I think, may be a defense against his sadness and anxiety. I think it’s perfectly understandable to have mixed feelings about having to suddenly lose your hair, privacy, social network and freedom for 18 months. I hope they all adjust well and stay healthy.
V is the one who sets boundaries with ARMY. He has addressed to them the things that they do and say that annoy him, he doesn’t deem appropriate, and are ridiculous. He is very frank with his friends when they become delusional. I admire these qualities that he has. I feel that he constantly has a lot on his mind and therefore he spaces out from time to time. I can relate cause I’m that way. He is also eccentric which makes him interesting. I’m so proud of him for challenging himself and joining special forces. Jimin, in general doesn't like to hurt people - I think. So, he is cautious. They are very comfortable with each other and I think that all of them have high IQ as well as high EQ or at least above average IQ n EQ.. They are very aware of themselves, each others and others' feelings. That help them in any situation and field. This is what sets them apart from other groups. The self-awareness, ambition, hard working approach, not taking anything for granted, humility. Also, I have not seen the sense of gratitude to this extent, that often in life.
For the last couple of months i realised Jimin started to feel very awkward in front of camera. He spent so much time off camera by himself and it kinda changed his vibe. Definitely not in a bad way though. I think changing like that is very natural. He seems like he doesn't know what to do with himself or what to say to armies yet. He wants to be sincere but doesn't have much to say or didn't think things through i think. It's not like i know him personally or anything. These are just my assumptions. Sorry, but I didn't think Jimin was giggling because he was happy. Quite the opposite. He sermed nervous and even stated that when he said that lately he was shaking all over. Also JK was unusually reserved. RM was in full team leader mode and was keeping an eye on everyone. Tae was really the only one who seemed normal.
Jin calls out ridiculous comments all the time. He never lies to ARMY. The other guys, with the exception of Hobi and Jimin, have called out bad behavior or criticisms of themselves. RM has been asked (demanded) to apologize for a song he played and has categorically refused. I love when they do that because some ARMY act like they own the guys, and that needs to be addressed directly.

I honestly think they were slightly drunk😳. Jimin tends to get giggly at what can be perceived as “inside jokes” cuz his laughter comes at times that the audience doesn’t get when he is tipsy. Namjoon too as he’s normally not that playful. There is a moment when V drinks out of Namjoon’s glass…stops and looks at Namjoon….and they both smile knowingly…. This was exactly the vibe I got with them being tipsy and all the inside jokes. I also think Jimin was laughing a lot from a a somewhat sardonic and bitter place of humor. This live shows how they cope with their upcoming military enlistment. Jimin said he has many emotions and I think him finding humor is his way to make light of it instead of showing in the live how affected he is to not upset ARMY. Jungkook is quiet here compared to his other lives, but he doesn't shy away from sharing his thoughts when needed, he is also sensitive in a way that he carefully asked the guys when they will shave their hair and he was touching Jimin's back knowing Jimin is not fond of the idea. Taehyung is excited with the enlistment, he said it has been his personal goal. Namjoon being the leader himself tries to regulate all these reactions from the other 3 and feel the overall emotion of the room. All of them do not want to worry ARMY and they are showing/saying it in their own ways.
I love how Namjoon is always so egoless he cut his hair long time ago so that he gives them the spot light and attention at this time. I believe its his ability to give up many things that this group could move forward inspired by that.
I think for a long time Joon was the most hyper aware of not upsetting the audience... His natural disposition is more impulsive, spontaneous at expressing his mind, but he's so self-aware that any critcism gets to him when he believes he made someone feel bad. He also feels responsible for being a good role model, which sometimes restrains his more rebellious nature. He has had to learn to care less about reactions, I think, for his own well-being. But that's just my opinion.

Funny that you saw Jimin as giggly and happy. To me it reads as super nervous and scared. Of all of our members, he's the one I'm worried about. He's very sensitive and bluntly has embraced the gender duality or blurred gender norms in the most obvious way. Which might not necessarily lend itself to a good experience in the military. I appreciated in Suga's talk with Taemin and Jimin, that they both opened up, far more than most kpop idols are comfortable with, about embracing both masculine and feminine sides of themselves. Jimin is the member most guys (at least most straight guys) pretend to be attracted to. The Jimin effect. Once you Jimin you can't Jimout. In the military, I strongly doubt that kind of self expression will be allowed, and Jimin will have to hide who he feels he is in order to have a good experience. I absolutely hope for the best. I wish them luck and love in the year to come. We'll miss them so much.
But I think Jimin will be ok. One thing is, he will certainly be able to meet the physical requirements of military training, so that people who have a problem with what they consider an "unmanly" type of man have nothing to attack him about as far as that is concerned. He's also very intelligent and hard-working, has always been a good student and was popular enough to be elected class president at school for several years, so he'll probably excel in every sphere there is. The other thing is that, although he's a very sensitive kind of person, he's also very strong mentally. And he'll be with JK, so he'll have a close friend with him, meaning he can possibly be a bit more relaxed about whether or how much other people there like him.
When I heard he and Jungkook were entering in the Companion Program, I felt relief. I was so worried about Jimin. I definitely didn’t want him to have an experience like Taemin.

I like your analysis. They have spent so many years online, in the public eye, that they easily are themselves, aware of their impact on their fans, especially given this unique situation (being away from their Army for a year and a half). Each has their own sensitivity to enlistment. I do feel Jimin’s reaction (giggling) hides his overall anxiety of being away from Army for 1-1/2 years. I feel Tae is the one who can easily make friends with strangers more easily, and JK easily talks with Army (very natural) on his many V-Lives. Jimin stays offline more, keeps to himself (he even states that he doesn’t get out and meet people). These past months, JK and V have been out promoting their music, while RM livestreams often, but Jimin keeps himself to himself. It’s ironic that they will miss Army fandom so much but will actually be in the So. Korean Army. I am sad and anxious for them, and will really miss them. They are very smart and thoughtful to leave behind what will be very entertaining content over the next 18 months for their Army fandom. 💜 💕 💜 💕😘🥰😍 💜 💕💕💜
random ramble: I'm so happy and proud that only about 10 "fans" went to Namjoon and Tae's military entrance. I was watching the Dispatch live stream because she speaks English to viewers, and she gave us the number. I didn't have time to watch the next day, but I have more confidence that it went well for Jimin and JK, too. When Jin entered, not many people went, but the local authorities were so overprepared with swat crowd control that national news covered it. The press far outnumbered the fans. The CNN correspondent and the anchor desk he was reporting back to had the whole screaming teen girl story ready and he interviewed the excited crowd of people holding up signs, etc, to show how rabid they were - but all the camera shots were close in - because d if they backed up, it would show his little crowd was all that was there and they would have had to give ARMY some props instead of dissing them. LOL That made me really grumpy with CNN.

Jung Kook seems to take the role of the youngest when they are all together, deferring to the older members. When he is by himself, he's his true self, I believe, and not affected by their culture's social norms
From what I've seen since I've become Army, Jimin is the one who gets most hate and harassment out of all of the boys, and I think through out the years he has become more and more aware and conscious about what he says and does. That's why he explains himself often, in my opinion.
Apparently they continue to work on the subtitles once a first rough version has been put out. That's at least my impression from watching various live streams where parts were incomprehensible at first and then put more clearly later on.
Listen to the boys words and themselves like they've asked countless times if you were actually a fan please. 💜They've dealt with enough misjudgement over 10 years, they don't need youtubers who aren't even aware of full context of both the members and their situation overanalysing and misanaylsing their ever move too.
Amongst the 7 of them, the first ones to have put people in their lanes or put boundaries albeit very politely and kindly are Jin, Yoongi and Tae. The others do too don't get me wrong, but those three are considered "savages" when it comes to these. They have never been rude though, just frank and blunt especially Yoongi (remember during his lives when he was asked in the comments repeatedly to speak in English, he said no directly). Jimin and Jungkook do these too but they are very loving in doing so. Jhope is like a dad, loving but stern. Joonie is ever the diplomat. I miss them already.
Yes, JK is more comfortable with ARMY as he does a lot of VLives from home... .talking or hanging out. Once he was curled up in bed talking because he had promised an hour of VLive but he was really tired and he fell asleep for like 40 minutes... and millions stayed while he slept. It was really sweet too... not creepy. It was almost like ARMY watching over him in case others came into the live that might be rude or anything. He was able to laugh about it.
I’m sorry, but some ppl need to stop with the negative and hurtful comments. It seems peoples bullying at times really affects some of the member’s mental health. Just like it would anyone of us. And it seems JK is really self conscious of his new cut. But it’s what on the inside that matters. Why do you think it will be difficult for them? I mean military service is no walk in the park for anyone because it is mentally and physically hard, but I actually think because of BTS good physical condition and all they've endured in the kpop industry over the past 10 years actually works to their advantage than the average Korean man who has to enlist.
But they will have privacy issues. Many idols have not had a good experience in the military at all. Ppl trying to film them stealing their clothes to sell them. Dudebros mocking them etc. It is not easy at all. They are abandoning the luxuries they are used to , imagine sleeping in a million dollar house and the next day you are on bunk bed. It's not easy at all.

I mean J-Hope and Jin seem to be thriving in the military and Suga's doing well too. BTS started out having bunk beds and sharing a bedroom so it's not a completely something new to them. I don't think JK seems unusually reserved in this live. Are the people making this claim saying it because they are new to BTS live streams or content? For a group live, JK wasn't more reserved than usual. On the contrary, I've seen lives where he giggled a lot less and was quieter and even more withdrawn. I think this is due to his introverted and observant nature, but also for cultural reasons since he is the youngest. He behaves differently when he is in a larger group of people than when he is alone or in smaller groups of 1 or 2 people. Besides, he hasn't eaten that much for months, actually since he started working with CK. In a livesteam he also said that he has to watch his eating for a year now. Maybe while his contract with CK is up or because of his debut.
It’s funny you say Jimin would be more likely to ignore inappropriate behaviour, because as a trainee Jimin got in the most fights because he didn’t take bull. He had so many fights over random things because he felt slighted or taken advantage of

I think Jimin is one of the most mentally tough members in the group. He has personally experienced the most hatred and threats to his life of any member. And some of the strangest treatment from his own company. So yes, he might be a little uncomfortable during the vlive (thus the giggling), but he is doing what he must and would rather not dwell on it or be put in a position where he has to be brutally honest. Someone suggested in the comments that V is doing it the "hard way," implying that Jimin and JK will somehow have it easier. I think that's unfair. JM and JK will be training to be on the front line..so no it will not be easy. If they have each other, it will be a blessing. They are from the same hometown and they are like each other's mirror. I'm sure they feel they can excel together in this program, made available to men who pass eligibility. All the BTS members are intelligent, driven and gifted, so they will all do exceptionally well in their military careers. May they be blessed and protected and return home safely and soon! ARMY will always be there for them.

I'm sorry if I offend you with my comment. I apologise in advance. You're reading them very very superficially or not reading them at all. It is not even about knowing them as an army but as a group of people having conversation. The whole vlive is awkward with forced giggles, laughter with sadness all around. I didn't understand most of the conversation at all, so it is not about the verbal language. Each member was trying to comfort Jimin in their own way as much as they could. It was clear as a day to see by everyone and from the majority of the comment, it seemed that way.
It's crazy this UA-camr thinks he's in any position to analyse them or anyone publicly honestly. Zero full context of any of the boys personalities, Zero full context of their relationships and bonds between specific members, Zero context of the pr and political issues they face talking about MS too much. My point was you still cannot fully accurately analyse someone even their body language without full context of why they're acting like that and their normal personality outside of a sensitive topic. I bring up the politics and MS process because the boys have to be very careful of what they say beyond their own emotions towards their own enlistment. which again it's very easy to just think 'mandatory enlistment that sucks' without realising the extent of what happens in these military services and with who BTS are. Same with why I mentioned pr, this live they were also actively trying to make it less heavy which is why it's so awkward and feels like a grimace in moments they aren't genuinely laughing.
I’m so glad jungkook and jimin will have each other there as a support in the companion program! They would have had to apply for that months in advance, so I’m happy it worked out in their favour. Jimin seemed very mixed-feelings-nervous-giggly to me. When Namjoon said “everyone goes”, and jimin said “they really don’t”… 🙈 I think they’ll have a lot of thoughts and feelings built up when they come back out, I’m very intrigued what they’ll say about their experience. At least they seem to be making the best of it, applied to the programs they wanted (especially Tae seems really excited about the challenge and his goals in the special task force, Jimin and JK both must be really happy to have each other the whole time in the buddy system, I’m sure Namjoon will do fine too.) And not having this ominous thing loom over their heads anymore must be a relief. I hope they were able to rest at least a little before enlistment, they are really all non-stop workaholics! They were hyping Jin’s future work up a lot, I’m very excited to see what he has planned - but again, please take some time to decompress - this must be a lot for them all.
I assume you use youtube because of screen recording/technical things, but as a general rule: weverse translations of livestreams are almost always better since they’re created by professionals in HYBE. Что касается Намджуна, моё впечатление что он знает, чего от него ожидают и он не стал бы избежать этой должности. Но если мог бы выбирать, то наверно предпочитал бы спокойно заканчивать альбом, дальше заниматься музыкой, может быть семью создавать (не знаю, мне так кажется) ... Но он знает что никуда не денется и делает то, что надо.
There’s a lot to observe here. Jk who normally is a big eater , eats nothing. Not talking. Jimin nervous eating and laughing. In between solemn. Jk using touch to comfort Jimin. Rm and v driving the conversation to keep it going. Felt uncomfortable and almost forced to make it light for army . Noticed there was something in rm’s cup. By v’s reaction probably liquor. Though they tried to make it as comfortable as possible for fans you could tell the sadness and maybe anxiety for what is approaching. Some fans have been concerned about Jimin due to recent mental health issues. Though disappointed that he and jk were not accepted into the special forces due to tattoos. I think we feel a little assured that jk and Jimin were accepted into the companion program. It means they will serve together for the 18 months. V is enlisting with friends which also makes army happy. We wish all 7 health and happiness.❤

I was mostly worried about Jimin. Not because i think he’s weak and won’t be able to deal with the hardships in military, but concert/performance is Jimin’s life. This is usually the cause of his struggles and not being able to do it for so long might take a toll on him. The stage and army is his life and love and without it for a little while makes me worried about him. I am so relieved that he will have jk by his side. Will they be together the whole 18 mos of service?

Let’s hope they do some more editing on the subtitles. I think they do that sometimes- they put out a relatively rough version at first because they know people are eagerly waiting to understand what was said in a live stream, and then they work a little more on the subtitles and make a few touch-ups here and there.

My sense was that Jimin was very giggly because he was trying to hide his emotions and not upset Army. Jk, too, seemed unusually reserved, not talking much, not eating. Yes, RM was was in full leader mode here and V seemed to be the most excited for this new adventure. Loved how they complimented and encouraged each, as usual. We will miss them for sure.
Yes, I also have the impression that when Jimin is very giggly, it's sometimes a sign of insecurity or nervousness, and yes, he's always concerned not to make anyone feel uncomfortable. When I saw JK hiding under a hat AND hood and apparently shrinking smaller and smaller every minute on that sofa, I already suspected that he had cut his hair and was feeling a bit uneasy about that. Of course, he's also the youngest, and when they're together, his role is to let the older guys speak first unless he's asked to speak.

Loved all these young men and proud of them for trying to stay positive about their upcoming military enlistment. Have no doubt that they will all do well. V particularly impressed me here. He seemed genuinely excited about military. Aside from physical requirements, he needed to pass very difficult mental/intelligence tests. He knows that it will be difficult, even said something about being scared of rappelling but he takes a moment to assure Army and asks us to trust him.
RM has been facilitating interviews, weverse, etc. from such a young age. Amazing, but what a heavy responsibility. He really needed this break!

You mentioned how they do sometimes call out bad behavior when they see things in comments or when fans cross boundaries. I feel like Jimin tries to ignore it. He doesn't address it much--he just doesn't come live much anymore. RM notices inappropriate comments in live streams and has mentioned a few times that it's weird or uncomfortable. V comes and does extremely short livestreams. I sometimes wonder if he cuts them short when he starts seeing inappropriate comments. He has called out fans (I don't even want to call them Army) a few times for crossing boundaries. He's said flat-out that some things have scared him, like when people try to book the same flights that they are on. He recently reassured ARMY that he was ok when a stalker fan was arrested for disturbing him at his home, in the building elevator. JK is actually the most outspoken, IMO. He tells it like it is. He tells these toxic fans to stop sending food to his home, to stop calling his phone, and even cursed when talking about stalkers at his house during his individual live on Dec. 8.
If you watch more of their group lives, JK is actually almost always like this. He speaks SIGNIFICANTLY less than in his own lives and he usually just sits there eating/zoning out/smiling. I’ve seen so many comments saying JK is acting strange in this live but that must be from baby Army since he’s actually pretty much always been like that in group lives over the past 10 years.
Why? Logically, it makes sense that he has to talk more when it’s just him doing a live vs when there are 6 other ppl there to fill the air. Also, there are other members who are more extroverted and just talk more. Lastly, he defers to the other members when they’re around, which again is normal simply based on culture.

Agreed. Jimin is more of a typical idol in that sense - and when I say that, I mean, he is more cautious than the other 6 in terms of his image and what he shows to fans. Even RM once said on a talk show that, out of all of them, Jimin is the perfect idol. Of course, BTS as a whole is much more open and genuine than most idols.
Thank you Max for giving context on how the members' dynamics work with Army. This is so rare with other artists that for a 60 y/o jazz enthusiast like me, getting into BTS was a totally rewarding experience, very different and very enriching for me bec BTS taught me to love myself while creating valuable relationships with other Armys especially when you meet an army in the wild, feels like you have an instant connection, an extended family 😊.
Imho, as a mom, I think that there exists an awesome symbiosis between BTS and Army, they give strength to us and we give strength to them. I wasn't saved by them, but they've surely made my day lighter.
They act totally different when they do their lives solo. JK is a bit shy when in the group. Jimin's so much laughter got me worried... I think that was a way to hide his sorrow. RM hides his feelings a lot, but he's been suffering a lot because he thinks excessively. Hope the military helps all of them to be lighter with themselves. I think that, at least physically, it has been a good time for Jin and J-'Hope. Yoongi has to be away from us until being released :-( Mentally, I think both of them are feeling stronger, their self-confidence has grown visibly!!

@wendygalvez8658 I wrote nothing about my beloved Tae because I ws talking about shyness, sadness, and introspection. Taetae is showing he knows what he wants. He's conscious about what is in his future, but he's ok with it, no sadness. I remember when Jimin said Tae was the most mature among the members, well, that's what he showed up during the live.

Jimin gave me dad vibes during a live. He received a phone call and the caller didn’t say anything. Jimin very authoritatively said ARMY STOP IT. I felt chills. Tae has told Army during a live, they need to basically improve their conversational skills. People ask the same questions like the members have not grown up.
Jimin use to do a lot of lives a few years ago, but he stopped.
My theory is those hateful comments seeped into his being. He had to stop for his mental health.
Some random comment someone telling him he is fat. He told the person he is at a great weight. He is not fat. Tae apparently saw a lot of solo Stan comments, so when they were accepting an award, he stated WE ARE SEVEN.
RM has had to stand his ground. He was attacked. Accused of Islamic-phobia and told to apologize, he said guys I am not going to apologize. It here is nothing to apologize for. He then went on to say he is almost thirty. I am proud of him. He learned he can not please everyone all of the time. Those who stop supporting BTS, it’s their choice. I am ARMY, I know how respectful the members were in Saudia Arabia.

They got so much hate when they were newer from all sides, and RM carried the burden and protected others. I think Jimin is very nervous for a lot of reasons, and I'm glad he's going with JK. Sometimes I get a sense that he misses his members a lot. JK wasn't eating but he sure was fidgeting with that hood. Tae's excitement surprised me but he's got Wooga squad too, who have all been and advised him.
Please react to a few of Jungkook's long livestreams! His lives go on for hours. It literally feels like you're just casually hanging out with your best friend haha. He even fell asleep and started snoring with millions of us watching him 😂

Great video! I felt that Jimin seemed very nervous about enlisting and sad about having to stop his idol activities for so long which he was trying to keep light hearted with his giggles. JK and Tae were giving him reassurances a lot during the live. Tae on the other hand seems very excited and pumped to enlist. In fact he applied to and was accepted by the hardest division of the military.😮
I agree. Jimin did seem quite nervous to me. I think he has got much shyer over the years when I compare the fairly softly spoken Jimin I see now with the bouncing tough boy of their early years. I wonder if it’s not just understandable nervousness that anyone would face going into completely new territory, but also that he will be with people who will feel they know him, just through seeing him on line. It will be difficult for him to know how to build working relationships with colleagues in such circumstances.

Correct, also I study body language and know what jimin was feeling and thinking before he made the statement in the very last part which no one really paid attention to and it explains so much.in fact everything everyone is trying to conjecture..he didnt giggle at everything nor act incoherent. Jimin is a very deep soul and unfortunately for some they misinterpret lots of things. What you see on the outside is not what is real..I feel sad for jimin because once he was very confident and outgoing and turned into the person you describe., and he will never show us very much because of so many threats and much negativity . Jimin knows the responsibility he has accepted in the service and it is an ominous and very serious endeavor, his IQ, maturity and genius as a mathematician puts him in a very dangerous spot and we will not hear from him until he is released because he observes protocol as a true priority.

Jimin is very sweet, funny, empathic and often the first one to laugh, but he has mixed feelings right now, and his frequent laughter, I think, may be a defense against his sadness and anxiety. I think it’s perfectly understandable to have mixed feelings about having to suddenly lose your hair, privacy, social network and freedom for 18 months. I hope they all adjust well and stay healthy.
V is the one who sets boundaries with ARMY. He has addressed to them the things that they do and say that annoy him, he doesn’t deem appropriate, and are ridiculous. He is very frank with his friends when they become delusional. I admire these qualities that he has. I feel that he constantly has a lot on his mind and therefore he spaces out from time to time. I can relate cause I’m that way. He is also eccentric which makes him interesting. I’m so proud of him for challenging himself and joining special forces. It’s definitely not in his comfort zone at all which deserves much respect for his bravery in taking the hard way. I’m a little worried for his safety but I know he will do well. Jimin, in general doesn't like to hurt people - I think. So, he is cautious. They are very comfortable with each other and I think that all of them have high IQ as well as high EQ or at least above average IQ n EQ.. They are very aware of themselves, each others and others' feelings. That help them in any situation and field. This is what sets them apart from other groups. The self-awareness, ambition, hard working approach, not taking anything for granted, humility. Also, I have not seen the sense of gratitude to this extent, that often in life.

For the last couple of months i realised Jimin started to feel very awkward in front of camera. He spent so much time off camera by himself and it kinda changed his vibe. Definitely not in a bad way though. I think changing like that is very natural. He seems like he doesn't know what to do with himself or what to say to armies yet. He wants to be sincere but doesn't have much to say or didn't think things through i think. It's not like i know him personally or anything. These are just my assumptions. Sorry, but I didn't think Jimin was giggling because he was happy. Quite the opposite. He sermed nervous and even stated that when he said that lately he was shaking all over. Also JK was unusually reserved. RM was in full team leader mode and was keeping an eye on everyone. Tae was really the only one who seemed normal.

RM has been asked (demanded) to apologize for a song he played and has categorically refused. I love when they do that because some ARMY act like they own the guys, and that needs to be addressed directly.

I honestly think they were slightly drunk😳. Jimin tends to get giggly at what can be perceived as “inside jokes” cuz his laughter comes at times that the audience doesn’t get when he is tipsy. Namjoon too as he’s normally not that playful. There is a moment when V drinks out of Namjoon’s glass…stops and looks at Namjoon….and they both smile knowingly…. I get it…..this is a huge change for them and they don’t want Army to worry…..so they needed a little liquid courage to appear happy and carefree💜
This was exactly the vibe I got with them being tipsy and all the inside jokes. I also think Jimin was laughing a lot from a a somewhat sardonic and bitter place of humor. Like a “I can’t even believe this is happening “ kind of way. There was a lot he wanted to say but held back on or just alluded to, like when RM said “everyone goes” and he was like “do they?”lmao though 😂). Or talking about cutting his hair. (Side note, I better not see anyone posting pics of him bald without his permission since he made it clear he’s not comfortable with it, and wants to just quietly serve, I swear to god). I think he’s (rightfully and understandably) upset about this upheaval of his life, and very nervous. I’m sure they all feel that way but I got the sense that Namjoon and JK were more resigned to the situation (or possibly more sober lol). Tae seems pretty excited actually, which I was happy to see cause it makes me slightly less upset for them. It’s so like him to take this and turn it into an adventure/opportunity. I love the way his mind works and his optimism. I love all of them so much, and my heart aches for what they must be feeling right now. I was glad to watch this live and glimpse these insights. Jimin said he has many emotions and I think him finding humor is his way to make light of it instead of showing in the live how affected he is to not upset ARMY. Jungkook is quiet here compared to his other lives, but he doesn't shy away from sharing his thoughts when needed, he is also sensitive in a way that he carefully asked the guys when they will shave their hair and he was touching Jimin's back knowing Jimin is not fond of the idea. Taehyung is excited with the enlistment, he said it has been his personal goal. Namjoon being the leader himself tries to regulate all these reactions from the other 3 and feel the overall emotion of the room. All of them do not want to worry ARMY and they are showing/saying it in their own ways.
I love how Namjoon is always so egoless he cut his hair long time ago so that he gives them the spot light and attention at this time. I believe its his ability to give up many things that this group could move forward inspired by that.

I think for a long time Joon was the most hyper aware of not upsetting the audience... His natural disposition is more impulsive, spontaneous at expressing his mind, but he's so self-aware that any critcism gets to him when he believes he made someone feel bad. He also feels responsible for being a good role model, which sometimes restrains his more rebellious nature. He has had to learn to care less about reactions, I think, for his own well-being. But that's just my opinion.

Funny that you saw Jimin as giggly and happy. To me it reads as super nervous and scared. Of all of our members, he's the one I'm worried about. He's very sensitive and bluntly has embraced the gender duality or blurred gender norms in the most obvious way. Which might not necessarily lend itself to a good experience in the military. I appreciated in Suga's talk with Taemin and Jimin, that they both opened up, far more than most kpop idols are comfortable with, about embracing both masculine and feminine sides of themselves. Jimin is the member most guys (at least most straight guys) pretend to be attracted to. The Jimin effect. Once you Jimin you can't Jimout. In the military, I strongly doubt that kind of self expression will be allowed, and Jimin will have to hide who he feels he is in order to have a good experience. I absolutely hope for the best. I wish them luck and love in the year to come. We'll miss them so much.

But I think Jimin will be ok. One thing is, he will certainly be able to meet the physical requirements of military training, so that people who have a problem with what they consider an "unmanly" type of man have nothing to attack him about as far as that is concerned. He's also very intelligent and hard-working, has always been a good student and was popular enough to be elected class president at school for several years, so he'll probably excel in every sphere there is. The other thing is that, although he's a very sensitive kind of person, he's also very strong mentally. And he'll be with JK, so he'll have a close friend with him, meaning he can possibly be a bit more relaxed about whether or how much other people there like him.
When I heard he and Jungkook were entering in the Companion Program, I felt relief. I was so worried about Jimin. I definitely didn’t want him to have an experience like Taemin.

I like your analysis. They have spent so many years online, in the public eye, that they easily are themselves, aware of their impact on their fans, especially given this unique situation (being away from their Army for a year and a half). Each has their own sensitivity to enlistment. I do feel Jimin’s reaction (giggling) hides his overall anxiety of being away from Army for 1-1/2 years. I feel Tae is the one who can easily make friends with strangers more easily, and JK easily talks with Army (very natural) on his many V-Lives. Jimin stays offline more, keeps to himself (he even states that he doesn’t get out and meet people). These past months, JK and V have been out promoting their music, while RM livestreams often, but Jimin keeps himself to himself. It’s ironic that they will miss Army fandom so much but will actually be in the So. Korean Army. I am sad and anxious for them, and will really miss them. random ramble: I'm so happy and proud that only about 10 "fans" went to Namjoon and Tae's military entrance. I was watching the Dispatch live stream because she speaks English to viewers, and she gave us the number.
I didn't have time to watch the next day, but I have more confidence that it went well for Jimin and JK, too.
When Jin entered, not many people went, but the local authorities were so overprepared with swat crowd control that national news covered it. The press far outnumbered the fans. The CNN correspondent and the anchor desk he was reporting back to had the whole screaming teen girl story ready and he interviewed the excited crowd of people holding up signs, etc, to show how rabid they were - but all the camera shots were close in - because d if they backed up, it would show his little crowd was all that was there and they would have had to give ARMY some props instead of dissing them. LOL That made me really grumpy with CNN.

From what I've seen since I've become Army, Jimin is the one who gets most hate and harassment out of all of the boys, and I think through out the years he has become more and more aware and conscious about what he says and does. That's why he explains himself often, in my opinion.

Apparently they continue to work on the subtitles once a first rough version has been put out. That's at least my impression from watching various live streams where parts were incomprehensible at first and then put more clearly later on.

Amongst the 7 of them, the first ones to have put people in their lanes or put boundaries albeit very politely and kindly are Jin, Yoongi and Tae. The others do too don't get me wrong, but those three are considered "savages" when it comes to these. They have never been rude though, just frank and blunt especially Yoongi (remember during his lives when he was asked in the comments repeatedly to speak in English, he said no directly). Jimin and Jungkook do these too but they are very loving in doing so. Jhope is like a dad, loving but stern. Joonie is ever the diplomat. I miss them already.
Yes, JK is more comfortable with ARMY as he does a lot of VLives from home... .talking or hanging out. Once he was curled up in bed talking because he had promised an hour of VLive but he was really tired and he fell asleep for like 40 minutes... and millions stayed while he slept. It was really sweet too... not creepy. It was almost like ARMY watching over him in case others came into the live that might be rude or anything. He was able to laugh about it.
I’m sorry, but some ppl need to stop with the negative and hurtful comments. It seems peoples bullying at times really affects some of the member’s mental health. Just like it would anyone of us. And it seems JK is really self conscious of his new cut. But it’s what on the inside that matters. Why do you think it will be difficult for them? I mean military service is no walk in the park for anyone because it is mentally and physically hard, but I actually think because of BTS good physical condition and all they've endured in the kpop industry over the past 10 years actually works to their advantage than the average Korean man who has to enlist.
But they will have privacy issues. Many idols have not had a good experience in the military at all. Ppl trying to film them stealing their clothes to sell them. Dudebros mocking them etc. It is not easy at all.
They are abandoning the luxuries they are used to , imagine sleeping in a million dollar house and the next day you are on bunk bed. It's not easy at all.

I don't think JK seems unusually reserved in this live. Are the people making this claim saying it because they are new to BTS live streams or content? For a group live, JK wasn't more reserved than usual. On the contrary, I've seen lives where he giggled a lot less and was quieter and even more withdrawn. I think this is due to his introverted and observant nature, but also for cultural reasons since he is the youngest. He behaves differently when he is in a larger group of people than when he is alone or in smaller groups of 1 or 2 people. Besides, he hasn't eaten that much for months, actually since he started working with CK. In a livesteam he also said that he has to watch his eating for a year now. Maybe while his contract with CK is up or because of his debut.

I think Jimin is one of the most mentally tough members in the group. He has personally experienced the most hatred and threats to his life of any member. And some of the strangest treatment from his own company. So yes, he might be a little uncomfortable during the vlive (thus the giggling), but he is doing what he must and would rather not dwell on it or be put in a position where he has to be brutally honest. Someone suggested in the comments that V is doing it the "hard way," implying that Jimin and JK will somehow have it easier. I think that's unfair. JM and JK will be training to be on the front line..so no it will not be easy. If they have each other, it will be a blessing. They are from the same hometown and they are like each other's mirror. I'm sure they feel they can excel together in this program, made available to men who pass eligibility. All the BTS members are intelligent, driven and gifted, so they will all do exceptionally well in their military careers. May they be blessed and protected and return home safely and soon! ARMY will always be there for them.

It is not even about knowing them as an army but as a group of people having conversation. The whole vlive is awkward with forced giggles, laughter with sadness all around. I didn't understand most of the conversation at all, so it is not about the verbal language. Each member was trying to comfort Jimin in their own way as much as they could. It was clear as a day to see by everyone and from the majority of the comment, it seemed that way.
It's crazy this UA-camr thinks he's in any position to analyse them or anyone publicly honestly. Zero full context of any of the boys personalities, Zero full context of their relationships and bonds between specific members, Zero context of the pr and political issues they face talking about MS too much. Absolutely zero context on the military process itself and what happens in there and the reputation it has and the extent of them having no choice. Honestly, you see channels like this and just think really.

My point was you still cannot fully accurately analyse someone even their body language without full context of why they're acting like that and their normal personality outside of a sensitive topic. I bring up the politics and MS process because the boys have to be very careful of what they say beyond their own emotions towards their own enlistment. which again it's very easy to just think 'mandatory enlistment that sucks' without realising the extent of what happens in these military services and with who BTS are. Same with why I mentioned pr, this live they were also actively trying to make it less heavy which is why it's so awkward and feels like a grimace in moments they aren't genuinely laughing.

Jimin seemed very mixed-feelings-nervous-giggly to me. When Namjoon said “everyone goes”, and jimin said “they really don’t”… 🙈 I think they’ll have a lot of thoughts and feelings built up when they come back out, I’m very intrigued what they’ll say about their experience. At least they seem to be making the best of it, applied to the programs they wanted (especially Tae seems really excited about the challenge and his goals in the special task force, Jimin and JK both must be really happy to have each other the whole time in the buddy system, I’m sure Namjoon will do fine too.) And not having this ominous thing loom over their heads anymore must be a relief.
I hope they were able to rest at least a little before enlistment, they are really all non-stop workaholics!

Что касается Намджуна, моё впечатление что он знает, чего от него ожидают и он не стал бы избежать этой должности. Но если мог бы выбирать, то наверно предпочитал бы спокойно заканчивать альбом, дальше заниматься музыкой, может быть семью создавать (не знаю, мне так кажется) ... Но он знает что никуда не денется и делает то, что надо.

There’s a lot to observe here. Jk who normally is a big eater , eats nothing. Not talking. Jimin nervous eating and laughing. In between solemn. Jk using touch to comfort Jimin. Rm and v driving the conversation to keep it going. Felt uncomfortable and almost forced to make it light for army . Noticed there was something in rm’s cup. By v’s reaction probably liquor. Though they tried to make it as comfortable as possible for fans you could tell the sadness and maybe anxiety for what is approaching. Some fans have been concerned about Jimin due to recent mental health issues. Though disappointed that he and jk were not accepted into the special forces due to tattoos. I think we feel a little assured that jk and Jimin were accepted into the companion program. It means they will serve together for the 18 months. V is enlisting with friends which also makes army happy. We wish all 7 health and happiness.❤

I was mostly worried about Jimin. Not because i think he’s weak and won’t be able to deal with the hardships in military, but concert/performance is Jimin’s life. This is usually the cause of his struggles and not being able to do it for so long might take a toll on him. The stage and army is his life and love and without it for a little while makes me worried about him. I am so relieved that he will have jk by his side. Will they be together the whole 18 mos of service?
