I've been using A80 for almost 5 years at this point, since august 2019. My findings are: 1. Rotating camera is working very well with no issues whatsoever. 2. Battery has taken a hit from regular useage but it is only noticable if you play online games, using social media apps doesn't consume a lot of power at all. 3. The phone is still almost as fast as it was 5 years ago but it can slow down if you never shut it off and let it restart. 4. Startup process isn't too long but when you unlock it after powering it on it takes more time to get going than it did when it was new.
I'm watching the video on my axon 7 rn. I finally managed to update it to android 8.0 and I value it so much more than I did before. And this phone has gone through many beatings and it's only got a few scratches on the screen, and a small dent on the corner. So the axon 7 definitely should have faired you well :)

I have this phone since september 19 and hands down best phone I ever had. No 3.5 mm jack kinda bummed me out at the beginning but i solved that problem with samsung beans. After 2 years, it still feels like a brand new phone. Never had a software or hardware problem.

YUP. The A80 might end up having a better display.. but the ZenFone 6 takes FULL advantage of the rotating features to allow for additional features AND is designed in a manner that would still allow for it to have a phone case. I feel like Samsung got a little carried away with trying to make the phone rotation feature "unique" rather than functional and multipurpose. Who would ever create a phone with a rotating camera.. that can't function WHILE it rotates... good job Samsung!
Was almost sold on it until you mentioned no headphone jack and the price! Lower spec CPU and screen aren't much of an issue but you can't get a note 9 with everything for £535 - tempting now!
That cpu is more powerful than the galaxy s8 plus processor which puts it around the 845 in terms of speed but with today’s tech which makes it a hell of a lot more efficient
Everyone thinks this but it's not true, just the same as if you drop your phone and destroy the digitizer, you're pretty much screwed. Parts can be replaced when broken. And manufacturers test things rigurously to prevent any potential damage. Remember, sliding isn't a new feature, been around in phones for decades, add a motor (like the motor that's used to vibrate the phone) won't somehow decrease its lifetime

Exactly with the waterproofing. This cant and will not be waterproof. That's more important to me than a full display. The s10+ is very significantly better in alot of ways.

But I will guarentee you it will not be like this for that one reason with ip 68. That's one of the main reasons this is lower in price the s10e. Along with the lower specs. They're not horrible but they're not big game specs. As for the in display camera.. Samsung has commented as late as 2018 that they're a few model generations ( 2-3 years ) from perfecting the technology to do so. That's one good thing about Samsung. They don't rush. Usually two model years before implicating major design and tech upgrades with their flagships. They have a full ecosystem of tech so they dont need to rush out crazy innovative implications. I like all smartphone companies. I don't choose sides - I choose models. This design has been done generally speaking by a few Chinese manufacturers and already have issues after less than a year with the moving mechanisms. Also no waterproofing at all which is a killer for most who cant afford constantly upgrading devices. People saying this phone is better than the s10 based solely on the screen size are crazy haha. It's not a bad idea at all - but with most in the U.S. unless you're rich or a phone reviewer you won't have the money to constantly upgrade. Or in this case downgrade. Lower screen specs, lower chip specs, lower hardware specs. They'll probably skip this design for flagships and we'll probably see the in display camera in the s12ish era. Dont wanna get your Hope's down tho! Anything is possible in this market.

Mechanical sliders we have seen it before from oppo and vivo and nt sure how long mechanical will work. Samsung basically just adopted all this. Infact there was an old oppo device oppo n1 rotating camera used for front and back. I felt like it's a combination of all that. Lets see how long samsung will be durable

Yeah, I'll pass. If I can't plug my $800 headphones in it's a hard pass. Bluetooth doesn't sound nearly as good. Anyone who says it does clearly listens to mp3s or compressed streams as lossless music like flac or wav sounds far better wired.

But these mid-range phones (and I mean I'm not complaining, I'm happy for the people that get them!), it's just that those mid-range phones are getting really close to those flagships, and even worse is phones from like Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus, ... Are also getting so close to actual flagships these days.
Again, I'm not complaining, my S10+ is amazing! But it feels weird to be in this spot these days man :P

I have this phone since september 19 and hands down best phone I ever had. No 3.5 mm jack kinda bummed me out at the beginning but i solved that problem with samsung beans. After 2 years, it still feels like a brand new phone. Never had a software or hardware problem.

The A80 might end up having a better display.. but the ZenFone 6 takes FULL advantage of the rotating features to allow for additional features AND is designed in a manner that would still allow for it to have a phone case. I feel like Samsung got a little carried away with trying to make the phone rotation feature "unique" rather than functional and multipurpose. Who would ever create a phone with a rotating camera.. that can't function WHILE it rotates... good job Samsung!

Motorized parts like this scared the hell out of me. When it's broke, you're pretty much screwed.
Everyone thinks this but it's not true, just the same as if you drop your phone and destroy the digitizer, you're pretty much screwed. Parts can be replaced when broken.
And manufacturers test things rigurously to prevent any potential damage.
Remember, sliding isn't a new feature, been around in phones for decades, add a motor (like the motor that's used to vibrate the phone) won't somehow decrease its lifetime

Exactly with the waterproofing. This cant and will not be waterproof. That's more important to me than a full display. The s10+ is very significantly better in alot of ways.

@@alterateawful6709 hopefully. The note 10 will probably follow suit with the s10+ in terms of hole punch ( pill shape ). But I will guarentee you it will not be like this for that one reason with ip 68. That's one of the main reasons this is lower in price the s10e. Along with the lower specs. They're not horrible but they're not big game specs. As for the in display camera.. Samsung has commented as late as 2018 that they're a few model generations ( 2-3 years ) from perfecting the technology to do so. That's one good thing about Samsung. They don't rush. Usually two model years before implicating major design and tech upgrades with their flagships. They have a full ecosystem of tech so they dont need to rush out crazy innovative implications. I like all smartphone companies. I don't choose sides - I choose models. This design has been done generally speaking by a few Chinese manufacturers and already have issues after less than a year with the moving mechanisms. Also no waterproofing at all which is a killer for most who cant afford constantly upgrading devices. People saying this phone is better than the s10 based solely on the screen size are crazy haha. It's not a bad idea at all - but with most in the U.S. unless you're rich or a phone reviewer you won't have the money to constantly upgrade. Or in this case downgrade. Lower screen specs, lower chip specs, lower hardware specs. They'll probably skip this design for flagships and we'll probably see the in display camera in the s12ish era. Dont wanna get your Hope's down tho! Anything is possible in this market.

It is. Also, its made by Samsungs chinese team totally different group than their korean r&d who produces s and note series. Hence the chinese influences and features seen in oppo vivo and the likes

If Samsung would've used this in their S21 Ultra as well, they would be wiping the floor with the Mi 11 Ultra. Imagine having the masterpiece of a rear camera pointed right at your face versus just having that viewfinder screen on the back.
