- Roy Orbison performs "Mean Woman Blues" live at the Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?
Ha ha 1.) The audience didn't know what to make of it at first but by the end Roy had them eating out of his hand. And 2.) - When you're lead guitarist is in the wrong band LOL! But Roy was so chill, he gives the guy another measure.......class act all the way. Roy is legend!
one of the greatest !
I think we can all do without the Marty McFly guitar solo. Roy Orbison's voice however is the stuff legends are made of!!!
This is such an epic comment, I come back to the video just to read that cool comment, because it´s so true :D
I agree
That guitar solo doesn't even fit in.
@@stanbernard1604 who was the guitar player?
Sadly passed away 30 years ago today. But his music will live forever. Got to see him live in 83
Where did you see him
Rip Roy. You have been a great artist ! MV
A LEGEND & HIS SONGS/VOICE WILL LIVE FOREVER. R.I.P. ROY.
Elvis said Roy was the best singer ever.
Does anybody know who the guitarist is?
All these comments about the guitar solo being to much , well let me tell you something, Roy would not have a bad solo , I'm sure they rehearsed it well before the performance to make sure it was acceptable for Roy
It doesn't sound like you are a lead guitarist or a musician. It's clear you didn't read the body language of Roy Orbision correctly. This type of body language is common among musicians who are musically dissatisfied with another player.
Maybe it was an act of musical terrorism, completely unexpected.
I almost vomited when that solo started... Where's James Burton when you need him!?
esukdg In the words of Walter white “you’re goddamn right “
That guitar solo was shockingly awful. It totally wrecked the middle of the song and couldn't have been less suited to Roy Orbison's music. Who is that disgrace of a guitarist anyway?
They did that solo on many of roys shows. The guitarist was BUCKY BARRETT.
This is like Eddy Van Halen putting one of his solos on a 1950s song. Solo does not match song. I'm a lead guitarist.
I guess you guys aren't ready for this yet. But your kids are going to love it! :)) Awful solo, lol.
Back to the Future😁
As one of Roy's former lead guitarists I agree with Marty's comment about the guitar solo. Way over kill.
He tried to make the song about him not Roy.
Roy was too humble to elbow him in the guts!
And how was the head wobble on the bastard? Dig me!!!
He's a McFly, what did you expect?
Yes, he did Alan James. I'm a lead guitarist also. Roy was trying to give the bass player that musician's reciprocating look of disapproval but the bass player didn't get it. Roy looked at him twice. The lead did not fit at all. Hard rock shredding on a 50s song. No kidding you were one of Roy's lead guitarists. How wonderful. You are no doubt very professional. I bet you had a lot of fun playing on stage with Roy and others Alan.
Who is this excellent Solo Guitarist? Deep purple? //? Who knows? Matches perfect. R and Roll meets Punck Rock
I love Roy Orbison
All said ... the big O is probably the best singer in the world.
Johnny Cash is the greatest singer in the world.
+CashPresley32 True
To me Elvis Presley is the best singer. But according to Elvis , Roy was the best singer in the world.
I think that those guitars that come with the spiderweb pattern only play over the top.

Word
Who is the idiot who ruined the song with that stupid solo. Roy looks annoyed too..lol
Nobody knows him. But he is one of the best. how can it be. Englishman?Punk rock? The lost brother of Paul Mc Cartney? The Fans hatet this solo.
If you look at roy 1:12 you will tell he was surprised to say the least at the guitar guy, he couldn't really do anything but I'm sure he wasn't all happy!..
Roy du warst der beste vermisse dich,,,,❤❤❤❤❤Dankeschön
Roy is fantastic here as always. It's a great shame about that guitar solo in the middle though it absolutely wrecks the song - it's like he thinks that he's playing with Metallica! Not tasteful at all - I guess that this is why Roy got James Burton to play for him in Black and White Night.
Who ist it? The Guitarplayer Spinweb Mattern?? Who knows it? Slash?
Oh my god the guitarrist!! TWANG PLEASE TWANG!!! aaahhh blady 80!!!!
alex Conti?
The Guitar was the most 80s of all 80s things lol....but Roy is still Roy here
Hi, what is the name of the guitar man?
Hi Bucky Barrett
That guitar solo belongs in a hair band yuk!
Roy has hair. Jet black.
@@rickallen6378 ???
00.17 to 00.27 who is the guy on top of the screen
For all the folks saying that this maniacal solo was not as bad as everyone says it is. Go check out Burtons classy top shelf solo on “Black and White Night.” That’s how its done.
💯
TWO OF THE BEST SINGERS IN THE WORLD ELVIS AND ROY
And don't forget Johnny Cash.
Dont like presley
Orbison is very cool
Johnny Cash was the greatest singer of all.
Johnny CashFan To me I like all three, but Johnny Cash is the greatest singer of all.
I only saw Roy up there, I'll have to take another look for Elvis.
Great get to have Prince Harry on tambourine!
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
That guitar solo was insulting.
Yes, it was. Who is that guitarist?
@@scootergreen3 I guess two! Eddy vyn Halen?
Who plays it? Genius!
well, it is original Roy Orbison:.Sunglasses, long black hair. Black clothes. Punk rock style.

Amazing Roy music still my heart🙏😘👌🎤👏
Boa música essa é para aplaudir 👏👏🎼🎶🎵🔝.
The guitar solo was in my opinion actually very good. Its something different.
Buckey Barrett is the name of the man who did the guitar solo
yeah, really rock'n roll solo...
The guitar solo absolutely ruins it.
What was the guitar player thinking..?
Bucky Barrett borrowed van halens guitar and style there
Yh the solo is great but doesn't belong in good old Rock'N'Roll songs...belongs in Bon Jovi type songs!!
best ever!
Roy orbison brilliant singer one of the very best
guitar solo ruined it
Elvis called Roy "The Voice".
Did he do any other songs at Farm Aid...
Yes Crying, Pretty Woman 😎
Next
i miss you Roy🌹🌹RIP 🌹🌹
THE Man...
johnny blues 🍿🍿🍿🍭
Best song.
I liked it!!!
Elvis sang the original version in the 1957 movie "Loving You".
Jerry Brownell it's the same song title but different songs.
@AH96 oh really? Guess again Einstein, all you have to do is listen to both songs. Their NOT the same lyrics. Obviously you don't know Elvis or Roy Orbison. I've been listening to them my whole life so I know!!
@@angelamarie2682 you’re wrong though
@@mj.l Am I? Just listen to Elvis’s then come back to me and we’ll see who’s wrong
@@angelamarie2682 i have, you're still wrong. slightly different lyrics, same song.
Super underrated singer
Underrated? There was nothing underrated about Roy Orbison.
Great guitar solo!
True, but it doesn´t fit that song at all...
han står ju som en staty inga moves som elvis
