Thanks for the analysis! I am also a vocal coach, so it is always exciting to hear what other coaches think of my technique. Fun fact: The vocal clipping was not added in mixing. It was recorded that way. I like to set my gain right below the clipping level when I do a normal scream, so when I go extra hard on those highs, it clips from the additional projection.
    Cheers!
    -Justin

Hey Justin! That's awesome to know. You're an awesome talent, and I can't help but learn from your singing. As a classical singer, it's artists like yourself that I get the most out of. Rock on my friend, I'm looking forward to hearing more :)

You nailed the delusion part, this is the last song on a concept album in which the central figure spirals into absolute madness

People don't understand the amount of experience and skill needed to do all those weird noises and voices Justin does. He's been at this for more than a decade and he's still pretty young. He's only just begun realizing the potential his voice has.

The clipping is actually the mic, It isn't added after. This happens very often when doing screaming because the proyection that you get from each type and even each tone of scream is different. False chords highs and mids are like yelling, super loud but tunnel throat lows are more quiet so they record with a high gain to avoid loosing any tones.

Cheers for this reaction, I really enjoy your ability to give a good reaction and analysis, even to music that you might not personally like to listen to normally.

I like your style of analysis. Interesting to see these observations being made more about his body language and his expressions and breaths. I don't see that often.

Is this a Deftones sample at the end?
This is not meant to be "enjoyed" and I am not exactly a fan of screams and growls, but somehow this was more fascinating than off-putting.
