To build such a structure ontop of water is an incredibly difficult undertaking. I cross the Anzac bridge at least 6-10 times a day as a professional driver. I have marvelled how it was done. Just incredible and look forward to visiting once completed. Congratulations Sydney, long overdue.
As much as the spikey roof looks good, what a wasted opportunity with such a huge roof to have solar cells generating free power for the markets. Surely they could have come up with a good looking design that incorporated these into it aesthetically
According to the website, the roof has the following sustainability features: -Skylights that operate by allowing light to naturally illuminate the upper levels while providing effective shading to reduce direct sunlight - Solar panels integrated into roof modules will generate up to 5% of the daily energy consumption of the new Sydney Fish Market - The roof modules are permeable to ventilate the space underneath naturally and greatly reduce energy consumption. -The roof surface operates to collect rainwater and recycle this water for use.
Actually the ground floor is the wholesale market. The retail is above it, or the "tourist trap" as you call it. Try being less of a cunt, you'll be surprised how much easier life will be for you then.
I don't what was wrong with the old fish markets mate the government just wanted to knock down the old fish markets to bild more apartments not for affordable or social housing not good at all
Wow lots of money, will be demolished in 20 years and another one built like Darling Harbour. Too bad the majority of people are struggling financially.

Thank you! We are doing all the steelwork for this.
Good job looks great
Looks quite futuristic. Will be able to have some fish n chips - overlooking the water. Great video. Thanks BJD.
The new Sydney Fish Markets building is significantly larger than it’s
predecessor, and I’m excited to visit it once it’s finished. 🐟
Yes it will be good for international tourism aswell having such a striking design
New home for the seagulls and bin chickens looks great.
Just like the opera house bar with the myriad of seagulls harassing you, won’t be worth going there to eat …..outside anyway.
That looks pretty spectacular. It's going to be so good! Can't wait to visit in the future
I agree
I really enjoy all of your videos. Thank you
Cheers mate
Awesome, thanks.
Cheers
Sydney is kicking 'arrssee' in many ways, Sydney is getting her mojo back for sure.
Dang, this might just be the most modern looking fish market in the world.
I think you are correct my friend
When is it opening?
💚😊🇦🇺👋
Sydney's new fish market looking like it means BUSINESS! Good. 👍👍
We Sydneysiders deserve it!
M 🦘🏏😎
Yes it does!
@@BigJayDogAdventures I'm looking forward to more updates, mate! 😁👍
Hope they provided 10 times the parking that the old site has
Great building, where is the parking?
There is plenty of basement parking
@kaibei2284 thankyou, would have been helpful if the video pointed that out.
I'm not that big on seafood generally but even I am looking forward to seeing this open! Onya BJD 😎
Seeing it next to the old one really puts the scale and quality of the new one in stark comparison
Yeah it a great design for the landscape
I wonder what's going to happen to the current fish market once the new one opens?
Probably units
It'll be scaled back 😂
@@col2049 hahah nice one
Very funny
Apartments
Will the old Fish Market light rail stop be moved?
How I S the movement of traffic planned.?
I’m guessing the cars drive in under the main complex
The usual whiners surface to decry progress. I remember the same comments when they were building the Opera House.

Great comment
Very informative thank you
This place will be covered in bird shiet in no time!
Looks more like a tourist attraction and less like a wholesale market. Just another exspensive ( out of the way) Sydney tourist trap.

No parking provided for workers 😢
The light rail must be packed in the morning and arvo
The price of oysters will increase by 30%.

I'm surprised the greens haven't shut it down.. give it time
Deosnt matter how good it is. Significantly overpriced pos anyway...

Waste of money
