About Harvey's guest:
Today’s special guest, Marie Osmond, is a superstar who’s been dazzling audiences since she was 3 years old, as the only daughter in the legendary Osmond family.
At the age of 12, she recorded her first solo album “Paper Roses”, making her the youngest female to reach the #1 spot on TWO Billboard charts. She was also the youngest female to co-host a television show, “Donny & Marie”, with her brother, Donny Osmond, which is one of the most popular and beloved TV variety shows of all time.

Our guest has hosted numerous TV talk shows, she’s had her own radio show, she’s starred on Broadway in “The King and I”, and did national tours of “The King and I” and “The Sound of Music”, she’s written THREE New York Times Bestselling books, she’s starred in THREE Lifetime movies, she ran her own company for 25 years designing and sculpting the most beautiful dolls in the world, and her long running show with her brother Donny in Las Vegas won the award for the #1 Best Show for THREE years in a row.
Our guest is also a renowned philanthropist. She co-founded the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, raising over 9 billion dollars and helping over 12 million children in local hospitals every year.
In 2018 she received “The Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service”. She’s currently on a North American concert tour playing to sold-out audiences and getting rave reviews.
And her latest album, entitled, “Unexpected”, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Classical Crossover chart, and has re-entered Billboard’s Top Ten a staggering 29 times. And I can’t resist adding that our guest was the FIRST celebrity Barbie doll created by The Mattel Toy Company.

When people ask me why I would ever have retired from the judiciary to host a talk show, THIS is one of the episodes of our show that I will proudly show them. I saw Marie on 12/8/23 in Arlington, TX with my mom. It blew both of us away. I wished my husband and dad were with us because I know they would have enjoyed it too. When she sang Nessun Dorma, I teared up and got goose bumps. It was just breathtaking.
My husband and I are going to Niagara Falls, ON, Canada next month to see her on 3/3/24. I can’t wait!

Another great interview; had to watch this one right away- dinner can wait! This takes me back, as watching “Donny & Marie” every week was an integral part of growing up, as well as listening to Marie’s solo and duet hits with Donny (“Paper Roses” and “Morning Side of the Mountain” were my favorites). Not surprised to hear Marie’s found another level to her singing, as her voice has always been so beautiful. Marie may be a little bit Country, but she also rocks!

I've loved Marie and all of the Osmonds since I was 12 .......I'm now 64. She is such a beautiful woman, inside and out, but I wish that she didn't do anything to her face, I would have loved to see her 'age gracefully' !!!

I used to love the Donnie &Marie show . I was a young woman with young children , my eldest daughter & I would love watching it , clean wholesome entertainment , you know that once a parent could watch a lot of shows on TV with their children , without being afraid of what will come up next ! In case your children would see something unsuitable . D&M gave us so many laughs & great fun on their shows .What wonderful times .
I loved the Donny & Marie show. Never missed an episode. It was a dream come true having her on our show.

I have to agree. I grew up with Marie & Donny and saw them in concert twice. But this simply shocks me. Her face doesn't move from, I'm guessing is due to Botox. You can't be in your 60s and have no wrinkles. I admire her, love her, but she didn't need to do this. She's gorgeous. I respect her choices, but please, Marie, age graciously like the rest of us.

I enjoyed this polite interview with Marie Osmond. Of course, this interview is vastly different from the interview that her brother Donny had with Howard Stern who as you know does not give polite interviews but goes for the jugular as he did with her brother Donny. I was interested to hear that you stated that Marie has a recent album on the Billboard chart. I don't really understand how the Billboard charts are even relevant to a song or album's popularity anymore as no one buys records anymore and radio rotation is no longer a barometer of a record's popularity like it used to be. In fact, if you get a copy of the recent billboard weekly charts, any one of those songs or singles can be downloaded for free. It's not like anyone knows what the number single is anymore like they did in the old days. I suppose a record being on the Billboard chart today has no real basis other than maybe number of downloads, free or not. But Marie's popularity is mostly reflected from her old Billboard chartings when people actually put their money down for a single or an album at the record store.
Billboard charts are based on purchases of music in every format. The Billboard rankings are still hugely important.

Forgive me: The Marie Osmond doll by Mattel- was not REALLY a Barbie . But I can see how you would get confused. Later, Mattel did do a string Celebrity Barbies . The truth of the matter is the first celebrity Barbies were in 1968 with Twiggy , Diahann Carroll as "Julia" (NBC TV show) and Sally Anne Howes as "Truly Scrumptious" from Chitty Chatty Bang Bang. All 3 of them were modeled after Barbie and her friends and could fit into the Barbies clothes. Their face designs were created from existing Barbie designs. 💃

@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Oh, absolutely! It was wonderful! I've been a fan for 60 years, since I was 7 years old. She can be a difficult interview but you handled it all so well. It was posted on her Facebook page that has hundreds of members and the compliments were overwhelming! We so appreciate your including her. I especially appreciate the work you put into the opening description of each of your guests. I know it takes a great deal of work and research, but as a fan, it's so enlightening.
