Hi, I like your video. About on the Roland and Korg D1 and the other. We are looking at those pianos and are looking to replace our Yamaha. We have a building that has a congregation of 30 people. Which one would you recommend? Thank you.
got the fp30x. in combination with good vsts , keyscape , ni noire im very happy with it. the only thing is,the keys coming up a bit slowly, so i think you cant play much thrills with it.
wow the perfect video simply falls of the sky... im biaesed between the d1 & the fp 30x? worrying if korg is gonna soon come out with a replacement for the D1 😮...
I'd definitely try to find a place where you can try both! Ultimately it's up to personal preference as they're both good in their own ways. I had the D1 as my main midi controller for a couple of years and after shooting this review, I'm selling it and got a Roland A88 mk2 (basically a midi keyboard only version of the FP-30X) as I found a b-stock unit for a very irresistible price. I probably would've kept the D1 if soft dynamics weren't so important for the kind of music I do.
@@pianodiaryofficial Very hard to find and play a D1, already played an fp 30x. Would you say the D1 also suffers a bit with the lower velocities even with it's internal piano sound? Thanks for the reply and btw wonderful playing 🙂
@@pamboscharalambous3770 I have a feeling it might be a bit less obvious with the internal sounds... what are your thoughts on the FP-30X after playing it?
@@pianodiaryofficial the fp-30x is Very good indeed, very close to a real piano simulation, and I can feel the "escapement" but something doesn't feel right with the internal piano sounds. They all seem a bit muffled, especially through the headphone's preamp, the main outs do have a better tonal balance but still I can hear a lot of mud under the middle c octaves. Contrary to you I intend to use the piano for returning to classical music after many years and I want to keep it as simple as possible. So I don't want to go into using external piano libraries and sound modules. Funny thing Korg D1 manual states three oscillators used for main piano sounds while the official Korg website that the main piano sounds use 4 levels of sampling for the dynamic range... My biggest concern is the age of Korg D1 and if Korg has plans of updating their current digital piano line...
@@pamboscharalambous3770 well the character of the piano in D1 is definitely brighter/more clarity than the FP-30X which has a warmer timbre. The keybed is a bit lighter on the D1 but still feels good. If the FP-30X doesn't feel right I'd rule it out - after all it's a purchase you'll be spending a lot of time with, it should feel just right and not like a compromise. Have you thought about/tried the Kawai ES-120? I don't have experience with it myself but it's a usual suspect vs the Korg and Roland
would you please tell me which one is the loudest between D1 and Roland, being turned off... I usualy play at night and where i live walls are like paper, and also which one feels more like a piano if you are used to play acoustic pianos. thanks
The Korg is very quiet. More quiet than the Roland I know, i don’t know the thomann piano. But I’ve played on the Korg in a music store next to a Roland FP30, and there I’ve noticed the Korg has a very quiet keyboard. And it has also the best realistic key feel in my opinion. Only thing is that the Korg has no own speakers but if you play by night with headphones I’d choose the Korg D1.
Hey, thanks for the review. Also great recording video and audio scenes love how professional every bit of video looks 👌🏻
Great video bro
Thanks mate!
They all seem like great value
