- Posting Edit: Hey everyone. It's been way too long since I uploaded anything, so I'll drop this now. I've got a figure video coming soon and a full build after that, but production on the series has been eating a ton of my building/editing time.
An in box review of Academy's A-10A in 1/72 scale.
TL:DW:
This is, for the most part, a fantastic kit. As far as I know, if you want an A-10A in this scale, this kit is going to be your best bet- plus, it's available at Hobby Lobby, so with the coupon, it comes out to be like seven or eight bucks. Molding is spot on for all except the gravity bombs, and the sole annoyance I have with the design of the model is the infuriating cockpit pane's being molded into the inside of the canopy. This is something that can be overcome, but it is going to be much more trouble than simply cutting around the edge. Overall, I'd buy this kit again. I haven't built it yet, and when I do, you won't see it on MY channel, but from what I see here is looks well worth the money. - Авто та транспорт
lol i recorded this almost a year ago. If you want to know why it's here check the description- also my first IBR test was fairly positively recieved. It's just been too long.
Is it built, or when willthe build video released?
Did you see the Italeri A-10 as well? Since I would much rather build that one (with Cartograf decals) then the academy one
@@martinslovak6094 I honestly don't know when/if I will build this one. I have the tamiya one in 48th scale, but it's... not up to modern standards lets say. I'd like to find a better48th scale or 32nd scale one.
Thanks for the review. I've always loved this workhorse aircraft.
landsurfer66 by far my favorite modern aircraft. Only reason I’d join the Air Force is if I could fly one of these
Getting this Kit today..... selling very cheap.
It’s a good kit! Decals are a bit thick and don’t adhere well. Just use lots of micro sol and set or get aftermarket decals.
Did you ever build this kit it would be nice to see my next build is a revell 1/72 A10 and was hoping to pick up a few tips
No I didn't.
building this kit right now, gonna be the first kit i put decals on
Good luck!
Hi, I'm looking for models which require less assembling/glue. I bought some Revell for my kid but he get's so frustrated and I unfortunatelly can't help him with that cause I also suck at glue those tiny parts. Is there anyone who can recommend something that is more like those GI Joe aircrafts/vehicles that you put together without any glue? Thank you.
Anything marked 'snap-tite', revell has a whole series of them, most don't even require paint. Airfix also has a 'quickbuild' series which is essentially a custom set of lego that builds into aircraft and cars.
Another option that is pricier would be to look at Bandai stuff. They don't really do much in the way of cars/planes/tanks but they license with star wars, and their gundam is top-shelf, most of it can be built without paint and a lot of it fits so well you don't even need glue.
@@TheWaggishAmerican wow! That's a lot of informatiom. Thank you so much. The kid is mainly interested in tanks and planes. He got all my GI Joes but it wasn't enough. I ordered some Zvezda model kits. Thought it would be easier to put togrther than Revell but it seems to be the same system. I guess I'm gonna get myself a new hobby and hopefully I'm gonna learn how to do it somehow. ;)
Thank you once again.
Would you reccomend this for my first model plane?
Probably not. The fit is pretty bad and the assembly of the cockpit / landing gear is rather confusing.
Look into airfix's new tool 1/72nd stuff, you can't really go wrong with one of those for a first model.
@@TheWaggishAmerican ahh ok thanks for the recommendation
Im having trouble with the front landing gear wheel bay
Same. Its confusing and a poor fit.
@@TheWaggishAmerican yeah it keeps tipping over
Are you going to build it?
billyredtail if I have time
i think building a WW1 kit would be cool and different for your channel
Maybe a Fokker E.II from airfix?
billyredtail funny you mention that: I have an Eduard German one, it’s on the summer list if I eat around to jt
Im guessing its a step up from the hasegawa kit(old mold).
bleedinggums roberts I haven’t seen it so I can’t say, but probably.
@@TheWaggishAmerican the original hasegawa kit probably has raised lines. But this academy kit looks good. Ive had great experiences with academy. Plus the old academy 190 is a favorite of mine regardless of its inaccuracy.
bleedinggums roberts academy can be either really fun or really frustrating. 1/72 p-40 is my favorite kit in that scale, while there 1/48 bearcat was a huge pain that I couldn’t wait to get off my bench
@@TheWaggishAmerican ah yeah i bet that bearcat is the Testers/hobbycraft kit. I just picked uo the airfix 72 scale earlt p40. Love it. Id get the academy p40 for the nostalgia.
i buyed this😳
Enjoy it. Minus the front wheel well its been a good kit so far.
Is thare a billd
Not yet. Maybe next year
Watching a car gathering rust is more enjoyable than this video. First off, nobody cares about how much you love the art on the box, or that you're going to make it into a poster. Second, what is up with your sound?, one minute you're clear, next minute you're fading away. Lastly, oh forget it, just review the damn model already!!!!.
Agreed, I was pretty bad at this in 2018.
