If you could make the glass be right under you (like in international space station), then you could see everything below using lights, and you would not need to go to the bottom of the sea.
for the larger submarine i think you will need backup batteries on a toggle switch for incase you lose power and you need it to open the doors/hatches a vertical airlock with a diving kit a bottom magnetic hatch a bottom viewing port a emergency desiel generator magnetic tow mounts on the top a bottom sled system to prevent damage to the sub a bottom radar system to show how far the sea floor is a depth meter to see where you sit in the water a magnetic winch mount for towing things and internal lights to maintain sanity in the darkness oh and backlights for your instrument panels i do hope you see this Kan
Irecommend using a jet engine. It is soo goood. Also use fluid jets with medium motor and ur set for cruising at 50m/s stable. You could go about 150m/s but very unstable
yeah a port hole on top and bottom would be good, also does storm works have a air pressure system? wouldnt you be able to open a door on the bottom and have a place to dive down sort of like a diving bell?
if you are going to make bigger sub, would be nice to have + depresure room so you can go out in swimming suit + more lights + blinking light all around to not lose your sub
kan I think you should make a bigger sub that has a dock inside that has a tiny electric sub like in subnautica The big one is used to travel and go down and the you get into the small one to explore (you dont need to fill up your tanks more when you go deeper, water is uncrushable it density only grows slightly because of its colder but that doesnt really matter)

real subs use electric engines,they use the diesel engine at the surface to recharge the batteries and then they use the electric engine underwater they do not store air

You could put in some floor windows.
It’s called “Altimeter”, than if you want you can take the absolute value since it’s gonna be negative, or keep it negative
The altimeter outputs a negitive value below sea level.
Or you could just use distance sensor, but it upside down on the bottom of the keel and hook it up to a dial, or digital display.
Put a fluid filter on the air
