@@richardworton4597 The writ has an amazing first half but the second half really sucks. One of the only songs where i feel they got it majorly wrong. Opening is top-tier though
In this song he is behind the guitar riff basically... but other Black Sabbath songs you can definitely pick out that bass geezers one of the best in rock and roll / heavy metal
YES! This is one of the best rock songs ever written. The time signatures, the changes, the first thrash metal riff ever written, the groove everything man. It’s a absolute master piece. PS Yup that’s Ozzy
HEY YOU GUYS! :) GLAD TO HEAR YOU AGAIN. SO I GUESS YOU COULD SEE WHY THIS IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE VERYYYYYY 1ST SPEED METAL ROCK SONG LONGGGGG BEFORE SPEED METAL! :) I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE FEELING BETTER, WISH YOU GUYS THE BEST OF 2022 AND BEYOND, STAY SAFE AND HAPPY, KEEP LOVING WHAT YOU DO AND AGAIN HAPPY 2022, PEACE!
Ozzy Osbourne - vocals Tony Iommi - electric and acoustic guitars Geezer Butler - bass guitar Bill Ward - drums, bongos, claves. Claves (/ˈklɑːveɪz, kleɪvz/; Spanish: [ˈklaβes]) are a percussion instrument consisting of a pair of short, wooden sticks about 20-25 centimeters (8-10 inches) long and about 2.5 centimeters (1 inch) in diameter.[1][2] Although traditionally made out of wood (typically rosewood, ebony or grenadilla) many modern manufacturers offer claves made out of fiberglass or plastic. When struck, claves produce a bright, penetrating clicking noise. This makes them useful when playing in large dance bands.[3] Claves are sometimes hollow and carved in the middle to amplify the sound.
Black Sabbath singers Ozzy 1968-1978 Ronnie James Dio 1979-1982 , Ian Gillain 1983-1984, Glenn Hughes 1985-1986 , Ray Gillen 1986, Tony Martin 1987-91 , Ronnie James Dio 1992, Tony Martin 1993-1997, Ozzy 1997-2006, Ronnie James Dio ( Heaven & Hell) 2007-2010, Ozzy 2011-2017.
Ozzy can sing, hes always been blues based. Most of the time he sings to the energy of the music. Planet caravan, Changes and Hand of Doom are excellent examples of Ozzy.
Great reaction dudes! This is Ozzy singing! And he can sing the blues as you can hear. And here Iommi invents thrash metal with his strumming. And Geezer's heartbeat bass riff is so cool. And how about Bill Ward absolutely killing it on the drums? Black Sabbath was THE shit. Next try anything and everything from Black Sabbath's first album. It has these songs: 1) Black Sabbath 2) The Wizard 3) Wasp/Behind the Wall/Basically/N.I.B. 4) A Bit of Finger/Sleeping Village/Warning and 5) Wicked World. Song 3 & 4 are long songs that are not just 2 in 1 songs, but 3 and 4 songs in one! Dig it.
I saw sabbath do this in 78 on they're final tour with ozzy.van Halen opened..the version was stripped down for sure and the acoustic fadeout was left out but leave no doubt, it was impressive and just as powerful...my favorite sabbath song.
This recording is from 1975, the Sabotage album. You are correct in that on their earlier recordings Ozzy's vocal were much lower and rougher, almost groaning like an old man in comparison to his vocals here. The second half of this song is a superb transformation like stepping into some sort of tropical, calypso-rock utopia. Features Tony Iommi's gypsy-jazz guitar roots. Bill Ward's use of exotic percussion is excellent here and throughout much of the Sabotage album as well.
1975 written and this song could easily be a nowdays song. These guys took blues and created something new.Not many musicians in history of music achieved this
Definitely Ozzy you will know when the switch to Ronnie James Dio and again to Tony Martin they have very different voices, but Ozzy's voice is different in these later recordings I think he stopped singing in his native accent. This is a masterpiece for sure up there with into the void and warning, which is my favourite Sabbath song and its from their first album.
Ever heard Deep Purple? Another English band from the late 60's early 70's. I suggest you check out the video Child in Time Live 1970, it'll blow your mind. Deep Purple are part of the Unholy Trinity of British Rock music with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Deep Purple were as innovative as Sabbath and Zeppelin. Make sure you do the Live 1970 version as it's the best version.
It's Ozzy. The heartbeat is the bass in that breakdown listen to the song sabbath bloody Sabbath off the record of the same name. It's still early stuff Ozzy played keys on some stuff, Bill Ward is the la drummer. That is one of my favorites good choice..
That was a good comment...easy to imitate hard to invent and this band had nobody that sounded like them at all at that time, bands over the last 25 to 30 years have had numerous heavy bands to be influenced by and even more so nowadays there's a thousands and thousands of heavy metal bands, they definitely are true innovators!
The Bass is the heartbeat
Bill Ward’s drumming is absolute. Band playing 4 riffs at the same time.
Megalomania has one of the most killer riffs out of sabbaths category. You need to delve even deeper
The Writ
@@richardworton4597 The writ has an amazing first half but the second half really sucks. One of the only songs where i feel they got it majorly wrong. Opening is top-tier though
The Writ is my absolute favorite on this album!
Balls deep!
This Song Is Dope. Sabotage Is My Favorite Black Sabbath Album And So Underrated. This Is 1975 People Need To Recognize.
The whole album Sabotage that this is on is a masterpiece and yes it's Ozzy
In this song he is behind the guitar riff basically... but other Black Sabbath songs you can definitely pick out that bass geezers one of the best in rock and roll / heavy metal

It’s all about that groove. Black Sabbath songs are not necessarily difficult to write or play but you have to get the groove on point for it to work.
Wheels of confusion/the straightener. Greatest fade/runout you’ve ever heard….
You’re welcome ! LOL

From the “ Sabotage” album

Check out

Megalomania
The writ
You should do 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' or 'National Acrobat' next
Sabbath created it, Priest gave it an Identity, Maiden perfected it
...ans Slayer took it to it's limit.
The next song on the album is just as impressive!
Planet Caravan is a must listen for new Sabbath fans. Every time I hear it is like the first time

SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH
Ozzy can sing, hes always been blues based. Most of the time he sings to the energy of the music. Planet caravan, Changes and Hand of Doom are excellent examples of Ozzy.
The heartbeat as you call it is the bass. And most of the song it does double Tony's riff It fills the bottom end and makes the riff heavier.
Great reaction dudes! This is Ozzy singing! And he can sing the blues as you can hear. And here Iommi invents thrash metal with his strumming. And Geezer's heartbeat bass riff is so cool. Just think..Eric Clapton. Iommi makes it sound like anyone can do it. And for calypso? Supernaut :)

Atlast a reaction video with proper audio.
This song right here…🤯!
Optimus Prime, Yoda and Ozzy Osbourne:
Vocally...there can be only ONE. 😎
Black Sabbath
*Megalomania*
*The Writ*
*Hole In The Sky*
🤘 ✌️
Into the void is up pretty good first song
Yes he's playing along kind of right behind Tony
Sepultura did a cover of this song and it's actually not bad. And Pantera did a cover of "Planet Caravan".
Great choice. Check out Megalomania & The Writ from the same album (Sabotage... 1975)

You have to do Heaven and Hell with Dio as their lead singer. One of their top songs!!
Oh that's Ozzy saying
Its Ozzy my Ozzy tribute band plays this tune

'stop?....NO!...ok'
It's Ozzy. The heartbeat is the bass in that breakdown listen to the song sabbath bloody Sabbath off the record of the same name. It's still early stuff Ozzy played keys on some stuff, Bill Ward is the la drummer. That is one of my favorites good choice..
B.I.L.L W.A.R.D !!!
There's no keyboards in there that I know of
1975 wasn't ready.
You really need to watch them do War Pigs live in Paris 1970. You'll see what a beast Bill Ward is on those dŕums
Please don't do the fan made video to this song the live recording or their studio recording is much better 🤟
@@emilymartinez6961 I hate the fan made video
@@Midnightmidway I only suggested this one in Paris 1970 to illustrate Bill Ward's drumming skills
All 4 parts of the Sab4 are equally as important and devastating. Take any part out and the sound changes, just as bad ass but different.
It's that guitar tone that's hard to get you can play it but it may not sound the same
FYYYYYRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! 😊
I think that Heartbeat is the Bass or bass drum
That's ozzy, check out planet caravan.
Check out A NATIONAL ACROBAT....
Try next from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sabbra Cadabra.
black sabbath could be as progressive as any other band if they felt like it
Try holding the sky
