- The NERF Ultra One wasn't exactly a show-stopping blaster, and most of the Ultra darts it came with weren't great... but clearly more is coming and that made me think: maybe we're missing something about Ultra? To change things up, let's stop using Flywheels for a moment and make a springer. A compact springer, one that isn't overly powerful but one that definitely could fire the Ultra dart. Thus, I created the, "Ultra Zero": a MEGA Talon that's painted and rebarreled to shoot Ultra Darts instead of it's original red MEGA rounds. This is a tutorial on how to not only mod the Talon, but how I made it look like an Ultra blaster.

KINGJAKYL the nerf ultra four has already been leaked, its a lot like this one but with a breech loading system and a t-pull. Seems like the kinda thing Walcom would love lol
@@willw5868 muzzle loading, not breech. Folks were too optimistic about that part.
Seems to shoot fairly straight out of a springer. Maybe ultra has a future in springers at least. Hopefully we can get a third party cheap option for Ultra. If they can make it cost about the same as Rival, then perfect!. I still don't like the reason Ultra exists, but time will tell.
Yeah or if anything maybe the Ultra One just had a bad flywheel cage.

I do plan to make a Stryfe mod that uses the Alpha Trooper Flyte for a cheaper alternative
And instead of multiple flywheels, it's two large brass flywheels perpendicular to each other like a vintage projector.
New mod idea: nerf talon painted as the golden gun from goldeneye. Like,M seriously, the blaster without the red shell looks like the golden gun

Man, I might just have to build a dedicated Ultra spinger after seeing this! If we start seeing Ultra knockoff ammo (and maybe aftermarket stick mags?), this might be a viable caliber.

The ultra ammo was trademarked so there won’t be any knockoff or third party ultra darts.
So, it's expensive. Not the point. It could be done. Magazine would be a problem, though.
So.... are you telling me that ultra might find a niche as a NERF sniper round for springers?
It'll make FPS caps pretty interesting. 100 FPS Cap? Well 100 FPS Ultra might travel a hell of a lot farther...

Why didn't you glue/seal that back cap on to make a better deal?
I like the mega talon, and I see those same model marshmallow blasters often at the thrift stores so I might try this mod out. Great job!

Mod idea I haven’t tested: use a big shock plunger to increase mod potential. Use RTV silicone around the back to prevent air leaks.

Wow fantastic job with this one. I turned out amazing. Great take on the ultra darts. Most of the web hates them. You saw potential and damn fine job putting this together. Csnt wait to see what comes from the walrus next. Keep up the great work.

My heart broke for you as soon as I saw the black smudge :,( Keep on keeping on, buddy. We all learn a little more with each trial we face and see others struggle through. Know that you ARE helping others in their own struggles and that others are here to help you through yours.
It is interesting to see the "Ultra" darts out of a springer though. It maybe sheds just a little light on the outrageous 120 ft. claims from the mothership. At least now there is a glimmer of hope where none existed.

We're slowly getting to an actual range comparison between halfdarts and ultra darts. At. The. Same. Fps.
Nobody wants to do it so far. Ultra isn't available in the Netherlands yet or I would have tried myself. So now I will ask you Walcom since you're the closest to it with this build: can you build a halfdart blaster that fires at (roughly) the same fps as your ultra zero and compare the ranges? Please? And maybe accuracy? So we can finally know the actual difference between the ultra and halfdart ammo?
Keep up the good work, sorry paint doesn't like to work with you, but at least it makes for good video. It's nice to see even the big nerftubers sometimes have the same troubles as we the common people :)

I just picked up a Talon (Mega Jolt) the darts are fairly accurate imho But the regular Fortnite (what the hell is Fornite and why should I care whistling darts as cool of a gimmick as they are were giving me a headache I think it must be at a certain db level. I'll have to try them again but I never get headaches so it might not have been a coincidence.
Also, the faster an Ultra Dart flies, the more stable and accurate it will be. Those "aero fins" need much more air velocity passing over them to provide drag stabilization than stock performance blasters can deliver.

So what's the ID of that new " ultra" barrel? Buying random marshmallow guns in hopes that we find a proper barrel doesn't sound very efficient.

Not that you'll respond to this I found something out about Nerf ultra darts you can actually fire them through an elite type barrel because of the fact that the diameter of the inner side of the elite barrel matches the outer diameter of the Nerf ultra dart allowing it to be fired through the Nerf elite barrel as if it was a blow dart so you can use an elite barrel as an insert to a Nerf rival knockout pistol and still fire ultra darts this also works with the rival shotgun that I can't remember the name of for whatever reason
That paint mess up is Normal lol compared to hasbros quality control your is much better lol
It's still reversible if you shorten the barrel, and unlike a real gun, the longer barrel is gonna kill the fps.
Might help with accuracy though

Hey Walcom, I'm curious about something:
Do you think Ultra darts would have been better as .50 caliber ammunition? (Same principle of a lighter dart, but compatible with Elite barrels).
So ultra one not worth it but there is hope for the future of Ultra darts them selves
Finally, someone talking about what the Ultra darts CAN actually do when put in a performance blaster. I have been more intrigued by the darts then anything else in the ultra line... but people are so quick to shit on them without taking time a mod a blaster and TRY!
