Testing my BAC after drinking on a full vs. empty stomach

- This was crazy. Filmed over 2 days. On the left (Day 1) I ate 3 slices of pizza then took 4 shots of vodka. On the right (Day 2) I didn't eat anything all day, then took 4 shots of vodka. The breathalyzer used in the video is the C6 from BACtrack.

This is the very first time I’ve ever seen someone demonstrate examples of how to actually drink responsibly, way to go kid, you’re saving lives
I feel like now people know how to be the most energized and crazy while drunk
Not really, check the comments😢 a lot of people read it the other way around
I really feel like the way you'll take this depends on the way you're leaning atm... I've been heavy on both sides of the spectrum and I just feel it 😅 love your content tho girly 💜❤💜❤
She’s not a kid and saving lives would be to not drink at all
I thought this was pretty obvious. You need something to absorb. Straight alcohol is like acid. Give it meats to buffer 😊 STILL, I thank her for the video. Great people are actually thinking about this kind of stuff.
this just confirms my decision to party on an empty
Waaaay funner
More fun
Whatever, I’m drunk
Not a good idea, I'm speaking of experience. Drinking alcohol on an empty stomach will not end up well. Been there. 🤮

This is educational content. This shows the importance of eating before drinking. It can save you from dumb decisions, alcohol poisoning and just plain overdoing it in a short time. This is why, whenever my friend group meets up to drink during events like newyears, i always make them eat something first and always carry some food with me
that's really noice / good of you , i'm happy you could do that for them , some the bad decisions people can make , can lead to death , thank you for doing that
Uh no this shows the importance of drinking on an empty stomach then coming home and eating AFTER.
@@baylee_baby_well that depends on the amount of alcohol you’re drinking. just a little bit is *probably* fine but drinking large amounts on an empty stomach can be really dangerous
@@baylee_baby_ it'll definitely save you money lol. But also, absolutely make sure you're in a safe place with safe people.
This shows the importance of not eating before drinking since you can get drunk cheaper.
Getting drunk in the name of science. Educational AND you get to party. Perfect video. 10/10.
You do realize, it's not only about"Drunkeness, but you are impaired!!!
Thus not behind the wheel . You can still be arrested.
Ok this explains why I never get hangover. I always eat before drinking lmao
It won't be that. It's more dependent on how much water you drink and what drinks you drink. Eating will just make it harder to absorb alcohol, so you'll end up with a lower peak blood alcohol level for the same number of drinks.
Plus age.
Nah it's just age,it'll hit once you're older
Its not age, or water.
Its part the methanol content of commercial drinks, but MOSTLY how your body metabolizes alcohol. Some bodies dont metabolize it well and it created a toxin that stays in your blood stream and goes to your brain
I’m 25 about to be 26 and I still don’t get hangovers. Does it have to be in my 30s or 40s lol. I thought I was just blessed to never experience a hangover
@@nandopena55 you're probably not drinking enough. American's thinking having one or two drinks is a night drinking. I'm Irish (actually Irish) and we would drink a full bottle of vodka or 4+ bottles of wine etc before we would consider that we're on it. Hangovers come when you're dehydrated to feck and throwing up. I'm glad I don't bother with that anymore.
More people NEED to see stuff like that
It should be taught in health classes. (It is for me)
@Skizzors At most, I got a lecture at school about drinking. But it's really been my mom who's tough me this thing
@@Skizzorsif you take health classes you should now that alcohol in your breath says nothing about alcohol in your blood

@@iaintgonnagetnakedfornoten7167 school.
At high levels, breath alcohol can pretty much prove that the person being tested is drunk. But just because the breath alcohol shows 0.5 per mille doesn't mean that there is 0.5 per mille in the blood.
Extreme examples include alcohol-containing sweets, which increase breath alcohol but do not make you drunk, or absorb alcohol through the mucous membranes on the ass. This makes you very drunk very quickly, but the breath alcohol remains at 0...
I’ve never drank in my life and I probably won’t but at the same time, I find this REALLY helpful
I’m also a non-drinker, but I’m betting my kids or their friends will drink from time to time. Good info to have to share with them.
Sadly, BOTH of their livers were damaged.

Yep, my dad comes from a family of drinkers so he knows the tip. He always says " keep yourself hydrated, and never drink on an empty stomach "
"Its been two hours, let me do something that shows you that I am in fact crunked up."
because whatever you ate, the alcohol is absorbing into it making you more sober as time goes on, but on a empty stomach the alcohol has nothing to disperse into making you a lil tipsy
For those of you wondering, alcohol is absorbed through the mouth, stomach and especially the small intestine. The food absorbs the alcohol but it doesn't eliminate it. It just slows down the absorption process so you don't get hit with that quick drunk. On an empty stomach, the alcohol gets absorbed right away in the stomach and small intestine. Because your blood alcohol content climbs higher on an empty stomach, It's up to your body to metabolize the alcohol. That's why you stay drunk for longer. You can't remove alcohol by eating food but you can slow the process of it entering your bloodstream
Thank you for explaining the point of the video mr obvious

Thank you for bringing awareness for why you should always eat before you go out drinking. If you don’t eat first you can get to dangerous levels of alcohol quickly.
OR, hear me out... drink on empty knowing to drink less, and save money? I'd rather get the same amount of drunk for less actual alcohol intake.

Congratulations! It takes a lot of guts to stay sober.

Same, only a couple months not two years but same
That's great! I'm sober, too, since september 2019, and I used to drink all day. It didn't matter if I had an empty or full stomach, I never noticed a difference because I was so used to that condition :/
Staying sober is the way to go! :)
I'm also just over 2 years. A pint or a night hundred proof bottom shelf vodka. No desire to go back to that place, stay the course
I grew up sheltered af so I really appreciate your videos as someone who's never been around people who drink. I feel a lot safer trying drinks that look good knowing what they might realistically do.
My dad told me to never drink on an empty stomach AND to drink slowly and enjoy the drinks to not get hammered lol! And it dies work. If you take it easy you'll be okay, listen to your body and respect your own boundaries. Have fun uvu
@@kailet1997 thank you for the advice!
@@catgirlwarrior9755 Try not to mix drinks either! Sticking with one type of alcohol helps a lot
Shots will get you drunk faster than anything else. One shot is about one standard drink and you drink it all at once, while drinking a cocktail, beer, cruiser, wine, etc. will have approximately the same amount of alcohol in it (though it does vary) but you drink it slower. Cocktails are a nice way to start drinking, they usually don’t taste too strong and are nice to drink slowly - though they usually have more alcohol in them than a beer or glass of wine would. And if you are out somewhere, don’t leave your drink unattended.

But just so everyone knows, eating after you’ve already been drinking does not “soak up the booze.” You have to eat beforehand for this effect.
This explains why about a year ago I, at the ripe age of 25, got blackout drunk for the very first time in my life ever. It was one of those nights where you go out because you "have to" (I was volunteering to bartend for free at a local festival, so there was no way I could say no last minute), it had been a very long day at work for me, I was tired, felt slightly sick before going out and generally just didn't want to go. I also didn't have much food for dinner. Well, friends started coming in, shots started going around and before I know it, I'm out. It's so unlike me and I was so embarrassed lmaooo. Never again. That was a hangover to forget.

This older guy I use to drink with when I was younger use to tell me never drink on a empty stomach. I guess he was right. It also helped with the hangover as well
My mother told me the same.it makes sense to eat first.
That's why my dad taught me to eat protein and drink water before drinking. Never been drunk in my life and I'm happy too keep it that way.
I admire people like you, my grandpa died never getting drunk once in his life, he would drink a beer when he ate dinner that's about it, never swore and worked extremely hard his whole life.

What about getting drunk do you enjoy so much that you can't get accomplished with a few drinks?
@@m0zz4re11a1 we can feel all the nice effects of alcohol without going bonkers if we eat the food . It also stops ulcers and cirrhosis. I would rather save my body than ' feeling it's .
@@dariensampson7913 i don’t know, i haven’t been properly drunk before. but from the small amount i have drank it seemed to make a negligible difference so i don’t see any point drinking it at all unless i wanted to be drunk. i don’t mean like super super drunk but you get the idea
Bro, you made my Alexa go off
This makes so much more sense on why just 5 full drinks 1 of which had a double shot had me throwing up because I didn't eat
When you drink on an empty stomach, the stomach knows there is no solids to digest so it passes the liquid to the intestines and is absorbed into the body there. If there are solids on the stomach the digestive process remains in the stomach and is absorbed there. So your drunkenness depends directly on weather the alcohol was absorbed through your stomach or intestines.

Wait why would yall *want* to feel drunk on an empty stomach? The mild buzz with a good meal is one of the best feelings!
Many seem to rely on it to be or have more fun, which in itself is worrying af. There's something wrong if a person can't have fun without putting their brains in a knot. I drink at times too, and when I do it's vodka, but I'm legitimately worried for the livers and kidneys of these people.
Besides, alcohol metabolizes first into acetaldehyde. A carcinogen, with the warning signs of flammable, danger and serious health hazard. Doesn't sound like a good trade - fun for poison lmao.
This is fantastic! Wondering how eating after (or while) taking the shots impacts BAC
Yea, did she eat anything in the 8 hours between taking the shots and sobering up? wonder how much that would affect it.
This is what I was wondering! How would it affect during? 30 minutes after? An hour? Three hours? etc.
You triggered my Alexa lol. She started yelling at me about music playing in the baby room lol
Bro, when you said alexa I tried to pause the video in time but I couldn't. And it played the song at max volume and woke up my brother.
This was a great video! Thanks
I discovered this the hard way my first time drinking. It was a small new years party. We had snacks, but I ate very little before hand. I had 2 seagrams and 2 or 3 mixed drinks that had 4-7 vodka shots total (I didn't make one of them so idk for sure) and we were smoking 🍃 so I was crossfaded as fuck. They tried to get me some bread but I refused since it was white bread and my friends forgot to make me eat. I woke up still drunk and I think I was for 12 hours straight
Making healthy food choices even when you’re faded AF? 😂
Enriched white flour is for Satan. As for me, whole wheat all day. 21 grains and seeds.💥 I like my bread like I like my women.

Moral of the story:
Drink on Thanksgiving but not when you had a cereal bar for breakfast
In all seriousness, please be safe when drinking
Been there done that and would do it again cause its more fun
This is actually so clever! If you’re planning on going to a dinner and drinking you have to wait 4 hours only to drive home, but if you’re planning on going to a rager, go on an empty stomach then you won’t have to drink as much to get just as drunk 😂
This really explains how my intoxication would fluctuate when drinking after work. I would feel fine at the bar, but then I would drive home to make myself dinner and suddenly feel really drunk while cooking. One time the drunkness hit me on the drive home and I saw DOUBLE. From then on, I was extra careful and tracked my drinks. Just because you feel fine to drive, doesn’t mean you won’t feel drunk while driving.
In my country, your license would be gone if you take the car from a bar.
Fun fact watchig your videos has helped me to be a responsible drinker for my body when barely starting my drinking journey
Ugh so true. I hated taking a big meal and then try to get messed up. Never worked.
"Dammit, my body is too good at doing its job of removing the poison in my system"
This is how I realized I needed to stop drinking for awhile lol, that was 6 years ago.
But I kept finding myself purposely not eating if I was going to be drinking and yep Im positive I had a problem, not eating just to get more buzzed goodness! Now I can handle 2 white claws with food lol.
"No thank you officer i brought my own breathalyzer" 😂
