Focus the rams and trebs! You had a lot of your army sitting out of the fight. This is a really hard mission because you basically have to push out or they will just beat your walls down. They have way more pop than you so you will never be able to push out even with full military. I would just have nothing but trebs and scorps just inside the walls defending against siege rams and trebs and then a few groups of paladins to clean up armies along the wall. Maybe some chuco nu at the gates Not sure anyone could be that many though
Wow, you seriously need help with strategy. The first thing you should do is build a bunch of TC's so you always have builders and two each of the university and blacksmith to start getting your techs (as well as use castles you all ready have to get all techs right away). ALWAYS build lumber camps (or preferably TC's except for one to get your techs) on the tree line, not one tile away. It's generally different with mining camps because you want as many vils surrounding the gold/stone as possible, but in the case of massive gold/stone piles, like this map, you should really put them right against the pile, and they really should be TC's, as well. Castles and towers should be built at the wall, not in random spots protecting nothing. You can also build more wall behind the original one AND build your barracks/siege/ranges/stables (in that order, front to back) in a line, with gates to let them out, to create another wall. Houses could also be used as another wall. At the beginning of the battle, you should have a ton of archers and garrison them in towers and castles (not sure if you can pick your civ, but Britons with extra garrisoning and extra range would be great). If you need to, kill vils to clear up pop space (I can't see how much pop space you have so this may not be an issue, but remember for the late game when you have a million of each res in the bank). You had absolutely no siege! Bombard towers (and castles, for that matter) aren't very good against rams so you should have a bunch of siege onagers and some trebs (again, Britons with their Warwolf trebs would work great). You should also build another gate at a safe spot and send out paladins to snipe enemy trebs. You should also periodically send out cav archers and have them stand ground in the trade routes. This is basically a war of attrition, so the idea is to keep your wall up long enough to make your enemy run out of gold and stone. Once they get in, especially if it's 20 mins into the game, you're sunk! Also, DE's AI is waaaay smarter than previous AI's, they won't just keep running into the same area to get demolished, they will probe other areas for weaknesses. And since DE is smarter, you don't have as much time to get set up, so get your TC's down and start pumping out vils to get everything else built that you will need. You have plenty of res at the beginning so don't worry about farming/mining/lumber just get your buildings up and get your techs done. Don't think I'm trying to troll you, I just saw some obvious things that would help. The map is great! I liked the earlier ones before DE, too! I can't wait to get a puter that will actually play DE, this will be one of the first maps I try, TBH. Good luck!
Great tips! Personally, I probably would have ignored eco, reinforced the walls with castles and spammed siege.. only to run out of res because I'm a noob like that lol.
have you noticed his currency? Also not super helpful. Always go for army first cause in the case of hard ai, they will attack you early. And if youve spent all your rescources on upgrades, you will have no army what so ever. Especially if rushing to castle, yes having multiple tcs is good but if you start doing more than 5 before youve boomed your army, your just doing endless economy booming. Sure booming economy is great, and for me, i have set a limit of 120 villagers. Usually i settle in at 100 cause i honestly dont need anymore. Also investing your population into villagers isnt exactly smart on low population limit games. Also it is good to have villagers on stone and gold. BUT an effective way to boom economy, at least for me is to slowly add more to gold and stone all the while producing most of my villagers for food and wood as i find those are often the ones i need. like fuedal ill have 5 ppl gold and 4 ppl stone so by the time i have reached castle i would have 7 on gold to 6 on stone and then i put my stone villagers on a castle and boom, fast castle. All the while i have put a few more on gold and food so i can start producing castle units. Either knights or a civs unique unit. Depends on which civ i play. But no matter the civ my end game consists of 50 on food, 30 on wood, 20 on gold, 10 on stone, and usually stone is the first mineral to die out, i put 5 on gold and the other five on wood. Thats essentially how you should boom.
Been real tempted to pick this up. Use to play the heck out of AOE2 and built tons of maps. Is the map making still fairly easy like it was back then? AoE3 was such a pain in the butt to make anything let alone getting the computer to do anything.

I may need to upgrade though as the Minimum ram requirement is 4gb which I have, just worried about slowdown. Don't really have any issues at all with AoE3 so hoping I should be fine.

Then they stop attacking and try to safe it. Then i attack where i really want to attack while they cant defend. :) thats AI.
