Event footage from the Newcastle Winter Warmer 2024 Half Marathon. A brisk headwind. Four laps. Flat, unsheltered surroundings. All the conditions for a cracking running challenge then. Hope you enjoy this short but sweet video of my first half of the year.
This was definitely a mental slog with very little to keep things interesting. Let me know in the comments what you do when the course is slightly uninspiring and a little too familiar. Any ticks or trips? I'm all ears...

Good effort. I start a run with a target time in mind then keep a close eye on my time for each km. I'm constantly keeping a running total of how much I'm under or over my target. Keeps the old brain occupied and stops me dwelling on how knackered I am lol.

It's one of the things I love about running. I try not to think of anything outside of how my body is feeling and what pace can I get for the next 1km or mile. Great suggestion 🤘🏻
