I would like to thank you for these videos. I am 18 and to poor for classes. These help me learn the basics. Insha'Allah I will be able to take classes soon. -Sofia
This is so helpful, so clear! I wish you were my teacher!! You're so good explaining. Definitely, I am doing this at home as a complement to my classes.
GREAT.. ive never donde these complex tendu combinations, ill definetely include them in my daily routine! thanks so much for this demostration! saludos!
My thoughts doing this workout: “Wait, THIS is *first* position? Are the other foot positions also anatomically impossible?” “I wonder if I have any friends who can do turnout.” “In 32 years of sports, yoga, and everything but dance, I am upset no one has told me about turnout ever.” CUES FIFTH POSITION “This has to be CGI’d”
Dear Ichamariska, first thank you for your comment. The videos where designed exactly for that purpose, that is good news. The other good news your are in love with a very generous art form. As you said graceful, & very logical! I am happy every bodies anatomical build is different. When using the ballet technique correctly within your capabilities you will make big steps. Enjoy this wonderful art form. You are not alone, any questions please ask or comments please send.
Good night. Do you think you can tell me which song have you used on the first part? If you could answer me today I would be very grateful. Thank you so much
What about anatomical deviations? I have flat feed since I was a child and I can compensate for it a bit (lift the ankles on order not to pronate so much and get somewhat of an arch), but there are limits to it due to changes in bone structure (for example the fifth toe is not in its proper place, if i lift my ankles, it only goes so far, or I would have to bend the boe of the fifth toe upward and out. So my foot never reaches an optimal position). I also believe, that these feet are the reason I have a slight knock-knee and these things make it hard for me, to perform positions correctly and keep my balance. I feel it leads to me having to exert much more muscular force to try to reach good, aesthetically pleasing positions and posture, just because some critical angles in the bones and joints are slightly off. Should I forget ballet? Do physio therapy instead? Could muscle exercise (like in ballet class) ever really correct bone structure (I'm 33)? Or what should I pay attention to, in order to not cause any further damage? Or can't it be prevented, once the bones are slightly deformed and you keep doing dance? I'm wondering if, by trying to force myself into ballet-positions, I might be doing myself more harm than good? Also, my turn out isn't to well. I believe it's also a result of the feet. I started ballet at age 22 and did regularly at least twice a week for four years. I didn't see much of a change in my turnout.
Dear Nanu, I will begin by saying these are very good questions and to answer them correctly. Would take time. So many people ask me these question. But the way you articulate it is very good. I would like to propose something. I have set up a website to help people like your self. Can I post this on my blog and then together I can work with you on your questions. Which I believe will help you and could also answer the same questions for many others. What do you think? I would also like to Skype with you to really give you a comprehensive answer to your questions. Here is my mail info@onlineballetclass.com
Wow, I would never have expected such an engaged answer :) Is the blog you mention the same URL als your email address? I'd be happy to help and recieve advice and the same time. I'll email you.
nanu1980 I think I have the same problem! Any ideas on what I could do to fix this? I'm only 19, but my body just isn't physically made for it. Specifically my back hips and feet. I'm trying to do everything I can but it's very discouraging.
