Some people claiming that robot is not evil, but “logical”. Completely ignore the fact he killed Black Samson, who was doing some haircuts and happily greeted his friend before dying. That act is EVIL

No it is completely logical.
Black Samson was a major heavy hitter among the heroes and a large threat that would almost guaranteed oppose robot.
Not neutralising that threat just because they were friends would be illogical.

Yeah that one really makes me scratch my head. I was confused and then I thought maybe he was eliminating witnesses but he also attacks the actioneers in the middle of a city. So not really sure what he gained out of killing the elephant
Rex was eliminating as many superpowers as possible so they don't interfere with his plan. It wouldn't matter if they were weak or strong.

@@mohannadali9662 Robot Know the Veltramites are in the area around Earth and the moon and his hope was that by ejecting her in to space, instead of straight up killing her, that they would fine her and save her. If it paid off she would be in no condition to stop him but still be alive if it didn't and she died she is still taken out of play and he does not have to watch her death right in front of him. She would be died but he would not have to watch it and feel the full weight of it at the time. Knowing robot he probably has been tracking the veltramites coming and goings for months and so ejected her towards a commonly used route they use to go to and from earth increasing the chances they would find her. Despite every thing he still loves her but he is in pure logic mode and she is a threat to his plans and needed to be taken out of play. This was his best plan for her that had a chance that she might live.
I always thought that he just couldnt bring himself to watch her die
This issue broke me. Killing people who considered him a friend. Unredeemable.

Honestly, he doesn't even deserve to be called Rex after pulling this stunt. I just went back to calling him Robot/Rudy after this when I was reading the comic.

This is a good issue to remind those who feel that commenting Rex is just logical he’s not evil, no, he’s totally evil. In no way does he operate beyond good and evil.
Evil to our morality. Logical though in removing any and all hurdles.
However his logical made the leap to evil when he made no attempt to persuade
I can agree with that, it can be argued that certain levels of thinking are beyond our comprehension and perhaps certain acts become subjective. I also agree that he made that leap when he felt that persuasion was a waste of time.

Robot is very systematic in his execution of the heroes and villains of the world, but something I noticed is all the drones we're aiming for insta kill shots the head, I do think robot was trying to make it as painless as possible.
It's also the easiest way to kill a human
It's both. He holds no malice towards anyone, He wouldn't hurt anyone if he didn't think it was necessary, and instakills are the most efficient.
Robert Kirkman also really really likes depicting head trauma.
Hey Spider-Man In “Spider-Man spider’s shadow” he has mainly killed his victims by aiming for the head
Leaves a bloody mess for the living tho he should give options before blowing the heads off
So cold, specially after Robot crushed the guy's/martian's heart. This is the same way Nolan think back then. The friendships, the relationships are very real. The people he killed are truly his friends - and now Robot/Rudy/Rex is doing what Nolan has done back then right here in this issue. A truly cold yet calculated move all in all.

True but in the show it dosent seem like there's alot of super heros present, just the ones that were shown, not many mentions of their existence
He coulda done this so much more peacefully like "hey guys, ima have my robots stationed across the world so i can defend it all at once" the after he proves to the world how good he is at that, the run for president
Except he'll never have the real power he needs to fulfill his goals as president. He needs to be the head of the GDA, and for that he needs to get rid of Cecil. And that means he has to at least neutralize Invincible because he wouldn't accept Cecil's murder. And that means he has to subdue all of the hero networks, because many major ones will stand up for invincible, which will lead to all of them standing up against him eventually (minor exceptions like Zandale excluded). And even if he doesn't, some heroes would end up disagreeing with the way he does things: surveillance, control everywhere, etc. So he'd have to neutralize them, which would lead to other heroes rising against him.
So really, there's no way the hero networks won't get in his way.
@@runtergerutscht4401 that's kind of invincible's fault, rex mention that he was supposed to make his move after he was well prepared, which I presume is when his robot army is so large that he can defeat all heroes on Earth in a direct combat, in that way he can threaten everyone to let him be in charge for a while and see the progress he can bring to this planet, but invincible's interference causes him to make his move now and have no choice to assassinate all the heroes before they realize what happened and united against him, since his robot army weren't enough yet for a direct combat against the heroes
@@runtergerutscht4401considering cecils pretty old and he did trust robot a lot I don't think he'd be against stepping down and letting robot take control of the gda specially after robot shows how effective his drones can be but he pretty much assumed worst case scenario and just went with killing everyone who'd stand against him and trying to trap invincible

And so it just depends on what a person cares about more, either their own personal feelings basically their morals or if they don’t care about themselves their logical ideals 🤷♂️

Does anyone ever bring up the fact that the absence of the supers he killed would actually leave earth vulnerable to more dangerous and powerful villains , Rudy doesn't even count on that he's just concerned with control and somehow in his mind he thinks he perfected the Earth , I mean seriously does anyone else realize that ?
Not really, Rex(that's right I'm not dead naming him) doesn't really need any of the heroes he killed. The Virtumlites are on earth. Anyone invades they'll have to deal with a small army of people who bench press a planet.
Thought about this more. The earth was invaded after this. And they beat them back with little causalities

@@enoenthehero the show was WORSE than the initial moments of the comic it adapted so there's no doubting if they could "go there" or not.. but kirkman has evolved since he wrote this (&devolved aswell in some ways) so chances are there'll be alot of changes to the execution.. so to speak
I think as well executed as it was there really wasn't enough effort to show how pointless his heroic holocaust was.. &just how vulnerable earth was after it

He´s a Sociopath, think about it, he had no qualms with stealing Rex´s DNA and then proceed to free up two clone expert criminals and use them to get a new body despite the risks their crimes would backlash have.
@@sebas8225 not only that, he has never have true human interactions or even a Human life, the only thing that is remotely close is Monster Girl but she too is not a normal human being, so Robot never really fit in, he clings to he's work so much that he never has seeing the true Human side of things

Robot was already my favourite hero from invincible, his time in the flaxan world made him my favourite character from invincible, and this, along with his end, made him my favourite villain from invincible.
Its so weird being able to love, and love to hate anyone, but thats how i feel about him.

@@drrckcch0 One is a civil offense, the other one is a criminal offense, also done when Rex was being an absolute tyrant even in the Flaxan world. Nothing about the way he was treating the Flaxan royal could be considered humane.

Rex was a creep from the beginning. The whole relationship with someone who is physically a child and he steals a body that he thinks the physical child finds attractive. And after the original sacrificed his life he takes his fucking name

It is a mistake to believe only emotions can panic the mind.
Love that they write robot as a genius, but also very delusional when it comes to something like love and his relationships. She betrayed him first? He kicked her out of his empire and left her to sit pretty while he played dictator. What was she gonna do, sit around and wait another thousand years? I’m glad towards the end that Monster Girl doesn’t get manipulated by his selfish ways.
I dont understand, was it because he neglected her that she went to cheat? Or did he start neglecting her after she cheated on him? Because if I save your life by curing your sickness, was the only one who understood your pain prior to that, made you a queen and you still cheated, through everything away just like that! He was brutalizing people who had nothing to do with the conflict and throwing his authority around. She had deep problems with that but he didn’t listen to her. He stopped seeing her as a partner and treated her as an inconvenience. She “cheated” when she help overthrow his government. By then you can’t say they’re in a relationship anymore.

Oh god. I thought he was going to have a prison for her. Not just throw her away like that. Scene had a whole layer behind what I was expecting.
The best thing to do when doing something immoral and difficult, no matter how good the endgame is, is to stop. It’s clear Rex Robot felt the weight of everything and more, but he kept pushing despite the pain. But why should you stop? Because if you keep going, eventually your feelings will dull out, and you’ll one day do something far worse without such strong feelings, believing it’s for something better. It’s stuff like that that I cannot accept things that are for the ‘greater good’
I had a feeling Robot (I refuse to call him Rex on the grounds that he's complete asshole) was starting to go off the deep end during his and Monster Girl's time in another dimension. Mass murdering a bunch of your friends and colleagues and then turning around and saying 'it was for the greater good'... Bullshit. What Robot always wanted was power and total control, he never cared about the 'greater good' at any point of this. If Robot really cared about making the Earth a safer place for everyone, he would have tried several other means to achieve this without pursuing a genocidal path. Even then, none of the alternatives would be full-proof and probably have lots of holes, but so did Robot's regime and it ended up being short-lived, why? Because the people he claimed he was protecting got sick of his bullshit real quick, coupled with the still fresh bitterness of having so many of their friends and family needlessly murdered and for what? So that some asshole can live out his power fantasy?
Robots regime ended when he kidnapped the viltrumite children. Had he not antagonized Mark he would have eventually left earth as he intended and Robit would still be ruling the planet.
I don't understand why Rex killed Black samson. He could have asked black Samson to join him. He later did the same with the remaining heroes, Why didn't he do the same?

It seems like he would’ve just arrested everyone if he had as much time as he wanted, but Mark made him speed things up, resulting in the strongest heroes being targeted for purging. That’s probably also why he arrested the survivors afterwards, despite initially trying to kill them.
Cuz if Black samson got his powers back he would have been a serious threat, that's probably why Rex killed him.

Honestly....this was one of my favorite/ saddest moments from the Invicible comic series....I had been reading the Gardians of the Globe comic at the same time too..so all those characters deaths meant more..plus Best Tiger was a top 5 favorite character of mine...so I was happy he got some attention here..

For all the people trying to talk up Robot as doing the right thing - this issue is supposed to be explaining to you why he's full of shit and you shouldn't be buying what he's telling you. He's acting the way he THINKS is logical but is extremely illogical in how he handles any and all human beings, because he constantly misinterprets how people behave. He slaughters objectively good and honest people when it was completely unnecessary because in his head it "makes sense." But it doesn't. It's an extremely intelligent but intrinsically flawed brain coming to the wrong conclusions.

this was the best one i read in a while. omg my feels :( everyone didn't need to die like that, they could of done a smaller peaceful kingdom with monster girl and rex. i want Amanda to be happy, but seeing how he was stalling time was a dck move to Amanda. What was the point in talking to her if he wanted to kill everyone anyway? was it so she may escape in space, not die in front of him? makes me think maybe he wanted to spend some time with her before their relationship would be over forever. and when he said you betrayed me first. i was like WOW this guy must of really loved her. Its understandable to feel anger and pain. but to kill thousands of people over it, i dont know, Rex was always a killer then. This is still one of my favorite emotional vids. thank you so much for uploading this
Oof, I always thought Kid Thor and Knockout’s deaths were like, a little extra brutal.
I still blame monster girl for a lot of this. She knew what kind of monster he was and what it took to bring him down, she should have warned everyone but she had become so warped by time that her previous persona was all but destroyed.

With how smart this mf is, and how OP his robots were, your telling me he couldn’t of tried to incapacitate them first? Like Batman had a contiguity plan for the JL, mans prolly made that shit over the weekend and he’s not as smart as robot. If Robot had the time to plane this whole coup out, the man could’ve set a few more days aside to analyze and figure out how to non-lethally take out his friends/ other heroes.
Marked pushed the time table up a lot. I assume he was hoping to talk or imprison them but when mark made his moves. Robot needed to take out all the power players FAST so they wouldn't become a threat later.
