When you make these kind of lists you always get a lot of comments: you forgot this one …But iI think there is one motor that outstands every other in terms of durability: BMW K 75, there are several examples of motorcycles with over 750.000 km. But nice video ( and comments).
Thank you very much,,, these type of words and comments meant alot for me,, these lists are based on available data and consumer reports which sometimes are not up to expectations of individuals but the feedback given by my viewers help me to improve alot.
@@FastestWay.1 You got nearly everything wrong in this video. Or more accurately, you got at least two things wrong about each engine. Ludicrous behaviour. Do some basic research before making vids, and check your facts, then watch the thing before posting.
I had a CX500, it gave me years of good service as I was en engineering student in Paris. It's weak spot was the timing chain that would wear out the tensors. I fixed it myself, pulled out the engine and took it to my small students apartment. It was my introduction to serious mechanics.
I did not hear the Yamaha XS 650 motors. From 1969 to 1982. Motors were bulletproof two cylinders 53 horsepower. Yeah an oil pump and a sump pump. Those motors were great for making choppers out of you didn't lose oil pressure when tilting the motor unlike you did other bikes. I still have an run a 1975 XS650B 40 year's this month.
I have A Triumph Scrambler, 2 cylinder, 865cc with 45000 miles on it, from the Arctic circle to Sahara and everything in between. A long way from the 200.000 miles mentioned in the video but with no issues what so ever this far, that engine is well on its way in to this list.
The first Kawasaki KLR650's were prone to suffer a breakdown on the camshaft chain tensioner (I had to repair more than one in my shop). Yamaha's V-max engine wasn't that bullet proof as there were issues on the conrod's (again: been there, done that). Bmw's of that first generation of the renewed boxer-engine suffered the same: conrod issues. The DR650 from Suzuki? Are you for real? I once had to repair one that snapped his conrod in two destroying the engine cases!
The 1985 V-Max was not a 1679 cc bike. The first gen V-Max had a 1197 cc engine. But I'm not surprised you got this wrong since, as many other pointed out, you got plenty else wrong in this video. And please scrap the awful AI voice!
A few others come to mind, Yamaha Roadstar, Yamaha XJ Seca and Maxim, Kawasaki KZ900/1000/1100. Seen many examples over these with well over 100k miles
Interesting, yet the KLR650 was liquid-cooled and, obviously, some other engines could be added such as the BMW K75 / K100, the Honda VFR750 with gear driven cams, and even the Triumph 900 3-cylinders especially in 80 HP versions (Tiger...) with examples over 400,000 km.
Dude you have several fact wrong The ones I noticed, was while taking about the SV 650 you showed a single cylinder engine several times You have the facts wrong for both the Yamaha VMAX and the Honda Goldwing, talking about the latest and therefore largest capacity engines while taking about the powering the VMAX / GW from its introduction, that's wrong, the first VMAX was 1300 cc, and the first GW was 1000 cc and flat 4 not a 6 And also while talking about the VMAX you showed assembly of a 2-stroke engine
I actually know a few guys with Goldwings and Valkyries that have over 400K miles on them, and still run like new. I think the rest of the bike will wear out before the F6 engine does.
for me in under 200cc category, the best engine is the 4-a of honda, usually in cg125 or tmx 125(old) and tmx 155 here in ph, that engine is so strong it even runs normal with less oil in it, and its been used since the 70s till now(ey no hate just sharing my opinion tho)
Hey bro your forget the legendary gear driven cams v főúr honda vfr 750 and honda transalp 600 /honda africa twin 750/ yamaha super tenere 750/ tenere 660
how about yamaha xt 600 e from the 90's... i have one with 170.000 km, and the most important thing to consider is chaging oil and filters every 5000km or so! still rides like the first day!!!!
To me these lists are always subjective. You at the very least forgot 2 engines: VFR 750 F (RC36) V4 and the BMW K75 (3 cil. in line). Both are well known for reaching insane mileage without more than routine maintenance!
What is this AI random pictures constellation? Almost none of these pictures fit the description of the engines that are been discussed. That video is just a big nonsense without the right pictures and using AI to create something live that doesn’t help but only shows that the creator of this video doesn’t even have a clue what he’s talking about 🤦🏻♂️🌚
Honda CX500 isnt and engine , its a compressor . The Suzuki SV650 is a Ducati copy , The KLR 650 is a chain driven nightmare . Honda CB750 was reliable because it made no horsepower . The Goldwing isn't really a motorcycle engine , its a boat anchor .
There’s a lot of motorcycle engines that last a long time… some are plodders. Like Yamaha,s SR 500. Or most-of the XS range. Im sure others people on here, could name even more. I am amazed just how reliable my Kawasaki ER 500 is, and I think it will get to 100k as well?
Triumph Speed 400 or Scrambler 400X, they are amazing and cheaper than most. I own the Scrambler 400 has a taller front wheel for better off road, but the Speed 400 is lower seat.

Thanks. The voice and music suck too
I was thinking K100 also!
I had a CX500, it gave me years of good service as I was en engineering student in Paris. It's weak spot was the timing chain that would wear out the tensors. I fixed it myself, pulled out the engine and took it to my small students apartment. It was my introduction to serious mechanics.
And the Guzzi engines, frequently clocking well over 200k miles?
I firmly believe that actually he does not know what a Guzzi is or even what that word means.
You showed a DR650 single air cooled engine when you were talking about the Suzuki twin. And you said the KLR was air cooled. Then I stopped watching.
I have a KLR 650 Liquid cooled..!!
i was waiting for the honda super cub engine.
yes it is much more reliable than any Harley tractor...
@@graantmnz BMW is bring my wallet.the maintenance fee is quite high,
i disliked when they didn’t mention it

What?!No cbr 600F,1100XX,1000F,900RR,oil cooled gsxr ??Those great engines deserve to be mentioned in videos like this
The BMW /2, /5, and /6 boxer engines deserved a mention, in my opinion. Thanks for putting out some interesting videos.
Wow. My first bike was a CX500.
Great memories 🙏🇦🇺
Seriously? No mention of the VFR750 RC36 with geared cams
Yeah, it should be a crime not to mention the Honda VFRs that had gear-driven camshafts.
You forgot the most reliable motorbike engine ever build! BMW'S "flying brick" 4 and 3 cilinder engines, reported to do well over 400 000 kms.
You are the flying brick so powerful and responsive..and smooth and never any oil leaks
He forgot many bikes...for example Yamaha XT 600, BMW GS 80, all the Moto Guzzi "V engines"...he seems to be fond of Suzuki...
This vid is a joke
So .. the Goldwing has it. Honda are the best motor manufacturers of all time. Fair play Japan!
Yammie hahahaha might have something to say about that. They make engines for Ford and other makers too and not just M/C engines.
I have A Triumph Scrambler, 2 cylinder, 865cc with 45000 miles on it, from the Arctic circle to Sahara and everything in between. A long way from the 200.000 miles mentioned in the video but with no issues what so ever this far, that engine is well on its way in to this list.
Agree. Own a 2008 triumph bonneville 865cc. 43000, nothing but regular oil changes.
Moto Guzzi...HD sporter 1200... (and of course the BMW BOXER)
I was expecting the Yamaha XJ 900 Diversion to be on here. Any bike that is reported to get over 400,000 miles from a motor certainly should be.
At 4:30 minutes while speaking of the Yamaha V-Max engine , you show someone assembling a 2 stroke top end .
That's cause this wasn't put together by a human.

What. No Honda VFR 750/800.
The VFR750/800 with gear driven cams only die when they get thrown down the road.
Kawasaki introduced the 636 cc engine in 2002, not 1995. The 1995 ZX6R has 598 cc.
CX 500 doing 200.000 miles is just a warm up!

The early v vmax had a 1200cc power plant, which was unrelated to the later larger one.
And what about the reliable Rotax engines used in several Aprilia's
Large engines turn slowly and last a long time.
I agree, big engines last.
Cx500, great engine but the stator on the cdi models will burn out at some point. Often well below 30,000.
I got a Honda nx500! I’m in the club🤩🙌🏽🙏🏼✅
Rotax 650cc?
No Yamaha's on the list?

Any list of most reliable engines that doesn't include those in the Honda ST1100 and ST1300 is lacking in credibility IMHO.
Honda ST1100 V4. Goes for 300K miles no problem.
Best bike ever
The Honda goldwing was a flat 4 engine to start with.
Who writes this crap 😊

Suzuki gsf 1200 bandit, oil cooled ,and the
Suzuki GSX 1400 oil cooled..
On most of 1400s,first valve clereance check is not needed before 200 000kms
Royal Enfield Himalayan bs6 air and oil cooled engine, unbreakable.
