Great info. I managed to find a Digikeijs DR5000 from a dealer in the USA for USD$200 and bought the Wi-Fi upgrade kit to update it to YaMoRc YD7001. Arrives next week. Prior to that I was likely heading down the ESU Command Control II. Although TCS has a pretty decent system, but again pricey.
I am pleased it was helpful Well controlling the DR5000 it does have a computer interface that you can use But if you wish to use a hand controller I would go for the Digitrax DT602 that’s what I have. Or alternatively it is possible to use Z21 app although there is a small fee for this, Or any DCC compatible Wi-Fi app OS or Android For computer control I used ITrain instead of JMRI. As it was much simpler to set up I will be doing videos on ITrain and setting it up In the future
Very informative video, thanks. Happy to get to the end and see the Yamorc recommendation as I got one recently. Can you suggest other apps and the hand-held options, please?
I personally do not use any app with my YaMoRC controller but I know it is fully compatible with the Z21 app there is a small fee for that. It should work with any of the free Wi-Fi engine driver type app. I simple am not a fan of smart phones or tablets despite having a degree in Telecommunication As for hand throttles I use the Digitrax DT602 it works very well over LocoNet. I will be showing this in action in future videos, and am very pleased with it I use ITrain as the main way I control my layout, I will be showing how to set up and use this in future videos
Sounds very good. Loads of research have gone into this video. Well done 👍👍👍👍😊
Thanks for this thorough overview!
Glad it was helpful!
