Noting the direction of the sunrise and sunset makes a difference. I had to change the direction I was facing because in the afternoon the sun was hitting the broadside of my vehicle and making it very hot inside.
So far, since I got to Quartzsite, I have been parking mostly close to where the BLM area starts and close to the main road because I drive into town pretty much every day and don't want a long commute. Plus, I personally don't like driving on the gravel roads that much. I don't mind the road noise, and it's not that bad where I've been. I haven't gotten the LTVA yet, so I have mostly been at Plomosa road and Dome Rock.
Hello Amanda! Great video with many great tips about camping on BLM Land. Hope to see you at the Ironwood Meetup (Feb 2-6) again this year. Steve and Oki
Thanks for all the great tips! I dont always remember to check my cell service. Since I use my passengr slider, I park with the sun on the drivers side. ❤
Hi Amanda & Wynston! Can you tell us more about how level the lands are & how much you have to use levelers? Or if you’ve done a video about it already, let me know. Thanks! Great info here, as usual. 😍
I’ll always try to have my drivers side facing south. My solar panels are mounted on that side with cargo carriers on the opposite side which would otherwise shade them. I also prefer shade on the passenger side when camping.
This is great! I've not had the chance to do BLM land in your neck of the woods, but really want to do something like this😁 Thanks for sharing the info
As an avid backpacker, LNT is taken very seriously. I'm planning a nomadic lifestyle when I retire soon. I may be using a large tent, like a fancy bell style, that will have a large footprint and will be up for up to two weeks at a time as I explore the surroundings. It won't matter much in the desert, but where there's any growth, I'm going to leave a footprint. I know most will think it silly, but I have a hiker's mentality. I just want an honest opinion. I'm going to be leaving a sixteen foot circle everywhere I go. Anyway, what would you think if you saw these smooth circles?
Sorry, clueless from the UK, what is BLM land? How is it different from National Forest locations that you also mention? We have nothing like this in the UK. It's really hard to find free places to park up in the UK that don't annoy people or aren't outright banned for overnighting. You're so lucky.
It can go either way. Often when people have a lot of space between them on BLM land, it means they probably don't want close neighbors. A better place to make friends is at an LTVA.
Always so helpfull. Do you feel safe in the road and at your campsite or when you bookdock as a single woman. I am interested in doing but scare with all that happens now ah days.
Great tips, Amanda!! Well done. Wynston is so so adorable! What a personality!
Thanks so much!!

Are BLM boundaries usually marked with signs in the field?

It's managed by the Bureau of Land Management. National Forest land is managed by the US Forest Service. Different entities.
Do people become more friendly when they're parked near each other? I plan to spend 3 or 4 months next yr boondocking.

Yep! I carry a firearm and other weapons. It's important to only camp where you feel safe, and it's crucial to practice awareness.
I live in Texas I was wondering if there’s anything out here
What's BLM
Bureau of Land Management
@@AdventuringWithAmanda are those mostly out west?

Not in the winter when I'm there 😂😂😂
