I felt like I was in the passenger's seat and a friend was pointing out to me the interesting places in Quartzsite. Thank you, Amanda.
“Unless you wanna be slightly blinded & don’t wanna see things you’re not supposed to see”…😂😂😂😂😂
I spit out my coffee, laughed so hard.😂😂
Hahahaha just telling it how it is. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When the vendors come, you should totally do a walk thru video.
A great video! I have been coming to Quartzsite since 2010, and really like the area and the people we have met. We have stayed mostly at the LTVAs and fortunately have not had any issues with theft or bad people.
I miss Quartzsite! So many people in one place that like to live the same kind of life that I do, made me feel less like a weirdo
Ahaha omg it's so true!
Thank you for the interesting tour of Quartside, Az. I have 2 friends that live there full time. They have a mobile home and RV. Always have been curious about Quartside. They are artist doing ceramics, pottery, paintings, etc; Mitch plays guitar and plays locally. His wife Linda and I traveled all over the USA, Canada and Europe with the musical group, "Up With People" many year's ago. Maybe one of these days I will be able to visit there. Enjoy your time there.❤
Super informative!
Hi Amanda, This is my first winter in the area. I just arrived at Mittry Lake and was going to go to P. South….but now after your video, I’m going to forego the Ltva’s this year! I have a Ford van and a dog named Heidi. Looking forward to more tips and tours😎
Your real-time narration is clear and concise. Not just anyone can do that. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! I love speaking/teaching. ♥️
I appreciate the tour. I’m looking at walking away from a stressful IT career next winter. I’ll be headed that way to start over. Peace.
Wow there is more in the town than I thought there would be.
If you're there it's gotta be cool! (and Winston!)
Excellent. Very informative. Planning to get there so it really made me feel more secure about going and where things are available. The areas and what they are like, just made it so much better for me to know what to expect. Thank you for taking time to inform us planning to be part of nomad life. I was terrified and felt at ease after viewing.
Thanks for the feedback, Sharon!
I agree with Sharon, as a new Van lifer nomad. Amanda this video was awesome 🤗, and informative, the only one I've seen on u tube . Thanks again 🌻
Thank you for the information it was great driving with you❤
Thank you . That was a great introduction to Quartside. Been thinking about trying it out. Will look at some more videos too.
I am an introvert so I love being by myself :)
Great information. Thank you for your content.
Just what I needed after the recent Bob Wells video! Thank you!
Very informative. Thank you. Considering going there for the gem show.
I am heading out for the first time this January, so this is very informative..thanks for posting
Thank you for all the great info! My hubby and I are planning on coming out next year to Quartzsite. 🙂
That's great! It's an awesome place.
Thank-you so much,I can't wait to get out there and start my adventures st 58 yrs old,I absolutely love ❤your channel and your awesome work,Hi Winston
Thanks!!
The water fill by Burger King u get lots more water like 6.5 gallons for a dollar
Thanks for the visual ride and great info!!
Very helpful video! Thank you very much!
This was so helpful. Thank you for explaining BLM and LTVA. The visual tour was awesome! Lots of great info. This was a wonderful way to help someone navigate everything Quartzsite offers. Thanks for sharing your honest opinions, as you are definitely very knowledgeable about the town and a van life expert. 👍
Really great tour and information Amanda👍👍👍
Happy New Year 2024!!!🎶🧡🎵✨️💥🙏🎶
I really enjoy content like this! More please... 🤗💕
Thanx for the info. Very helpful to me.
Thank you I enjoyed it, I am making plans to go there and your video was great
Glad you enjoyed it!
I won love go to go there to camp there with my van to camp 6 months
I want to be there so bad... maybe after the first of the year I can do it. Scaddin Wash will always be my favorite spot out there. It was my maiden boondocking spot and I met Bob Wells and Susan Carlson. I drove from Alabama and was in my Nissan Altima which I had decked out with solar, inverter, dc/dc charger and a house battery, That was two winters ago. I didn't know a soul when I went out there but left with life long friends..
Thanks for showing all the places., I was like oh I've been there, there, and there 😆😂🤣 It was a wonderful walk down memory lane
My maiden van life voyage was the same year and same place!
@@AdventuringWithAmanda Oh my gosh that is so friggin awesome! I was camped right down from where the meetup for Bob was at and we had a double campfire ring at night. Hobo Tech, Greg from LivingIt, and a couple more big UA-camrs were there. I had the best time ever
🖐 Welcome to Quartzsite!! 💜💜 Bythe, Ca has ok shopping too
Happy to be back!
Thanks❤ going to try to b at the Skoolie palooza
It's such a blast!!!
They are saying you have to pay to get in this year at skooliepalooza. Selling tickets, don't know price yet.
Appreciate this , very informative cheers
3 more weeks of work left ,im heading west!! Cold this morning in New Mexico 25° !!
Yay!
As I see it, Quartzsite would be enjoyable with a tribe. That would provide security and companionship.
It can be! I'll meet up with friends later in the season.
Hi Amanda, very cool video with great content. You can get water free at the library and the ball field, several water spigots available, also free water available at the truck stops, the spigots are usually located on the islands where the gas pumps are. We decided not to come to Quartzsite this year, instead we are on a sailing adventure in the Bahama Islands. We sailed from our home base of Key Largo, Florida to Westend, Bahamas to check in with customs and get our cruiser permit. Our boat is a 2020 Corsair 880 Sport Trimaran sailboat. It's extremely fast and nicely laid out for a couple to live aboard for a few months. We will probably stay over here until June of 2023 and then sail back to Florida. We missed the first Hurricane, but Nicole caught us off guard, we were able to find a small river that went inland for a few miles and was heavily protected by large mangrove trees that acted as a wind guard. We tied the boat off on all 4 corners and rode the storm out. We saw winds of 55 mph and gust up to 68 mph. We both are okay and the boat came through with no damage. Funny thing is, we never lost our cell signal or internet service. Thanks for posting, your videos are very informative.......
I'm glad you and the boat are okay! Thanks so much! ♥️
Silly Al’s NOT the only pizza in town. Outback Pizza has amazing pizza with a ton of great reviews.
Thanks so much for the drive. New subscriber and I enjoy your videos.
Thanks for the sub!
Great Video! Good information and I loved the driving tour.
I planned to be there this winter, unfortunately life happened. Maybe next year. Thanks Amanda
Thank youv
Welcome!
Thanks for all the info, I'm heading there in a month probably so it's good to get this info, especially about somewhere to take a shower! Don't think they have gym's there! lol. I've been there once and it is VERY small. I am saving this one on my "nomad list!"
Drive safely 🙂 thanks much
Thank you for the informative video.
I haven’t been to Quarzite yet. But I plan to go next year. Thanks for the info. Safe travels.😊
Great info! Ty Amanda
i liked the drive thru tour of quartzite , i have been there many times, getting ready to head back there! thanks for heads up on showers. i have a coffee maker but like to go to the pilot for the fresh ground coffee 👍 happy trails to y'all 🎉
Haha, I actually like doing the same! I need to check out the new Terrible's fuel station that was just built!
@@AdventuringWithAmanda yes i saw the terribles going in last time but haven't tried out them yet?
Do they still have Miltons
Thank you for your post I have lived in quartzsite back in 2007 through 09 year round and worked in Blythe California I was working then but now retired and gearing up to return this winter thank you so much I can share this with my friends and they will get an idea of why I want to be there
I will be back down in a few weeks! It was way too hot when I was there early October
love this video thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the info, look forward to meeting you and the other You tubers there, that I have been watching.
Thank you for this. I hope to head to Quartizite for at least a drive through this year. My father used to winter in Parker in his RV each winter.
Parker is awesome! I stay there too, normally in the early spring.
💥😌👍💗🙏💥safe travels.
I really hope I get to come down this year. I will say I’m a little intimidated by the area since I don’t know anyone.
Spoke with the LTVA host at one of the LaPosa campgrounds today. He told me the LTVA's are free so far this season. Problem with BLM getting the stickers printed for the season. Looks like Quartzite temps maybe cooler this winter season (NWS).
After sending billions to Ukraine, I'm surprised our government can even function.
@@mojavemike6522 well it must be functional again. I just paid my $180 season rent and have a new bright LTVA sticker on my windshield 👍
@@mythicalnomadadventure969 Nice!
Your best video Amanda!! Hope to see you around quartzite!!
Thank you for the information! Great video
Great video Amanda stay safe hugs from the uk x
Interesting. Ya im surprised it is so small! Id definitely pefer to be on BLM land as opposed to LTVA.
Thanks for the tour:)
Cool, thanks!
Enjoyed the town tour ,keep safe Amanda wynston
Except for the last couple of years, we have spent a lot of time in Quartzsite over the winters, since 2003. The Terribles is good to see, that of course wasn't there the last year we made it. Everything else so far, is so familiar. And Silly Al's....so many good memories eating there with our rv buddies!
It hasn't changed much!!
See you in December!😉
This was the best tour of a town I’ve ever seen on UA-cam. Not kidding.
Bob over at CheapRVLiving mention the town of Quartzite a lot. It’s really nice to see the town he speaks so highly of as an opportunity for cheap living and abundant employment opportunities.
Thanks for this. Amazing! ❤
Thanks so much! I was interviewed by Bob in December 2021. Video is on his channel if you're interested!
Thanks for mentioning the $0.25/gallon water dispenser and laundry mat showers. I didn't know about those. You didn't mention the free internet at the library. I camped in Kofa as the mountains are close. I have shopped at the same grocery store that you mentioned. But as I like a deli and specialty bread, as you said, I went to Parker.
Great video!!
The creepers would break it for me.
THANKYOU🙂
Hi from LA Posa North miss Amanda mam
Good job on the Quartzsite tour, well done 👍
New subscriber here. I coming to Quartzite in January for the RTR and meeting up with friends. Looking forward to watching your travel videos.
You are a smart, wise and articulate young lady. I appreciate your videos!
Thanks so much!
Police Officer here, I was in charge of the SOR (Sex Offender Registry) in my jurisdiction. Don't be shocked, but whether or not the police notify you of an offender in the area based solely on their classification level- 1, 2, or 3 there are many, many of them out there that you will not know about, or be advised of. The level of a offender only classifies the likelihood of re-offending not the severity of the crime/crimes committed. Remember the SOR is only a registry that maintains offender information. It does not impose any restrictions on offenders, although there are penalties for not registering and updating registration info if required to do so.
If you have an interest to know about sex offenders in a area of interest. The local law enforcement agency can provide a list of offenders pictures and their crimes/info after filling out a request form. Unfortunately they are among us and they are everywhere.
Aloha from Hawaii! Mahalo for sharing your adventure🤙✌
Mahalo! 🤙
Nice. There's also a library, great senior community center, good second hand shop where you can donate OR find things, FABulous bar & grill called Grubstake, the restaurant in the main street laundramat is very good, and most of all the folks in all these places are just so kind and welcoming, willing to answer questions or help you out with info etc. I love all the little details. Like the new Terribles? I haven't seen it yet, was hoping you'd give us the lowdown. ;) But good job!
Grubstake allows dogs inside, too. 🤗
I never depend on finding the Grubstake and the Yacht Club to be ever be open, even during the Winter.
Damn. I was buying gallons at the grocery store last year...thanks
Thanks for the tour and all of the info. Personally, I prefer trees and grass, so Quartzsite isn't for me!
I do too, but that normally comes with snow in the winter, which I don't like. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Excellent driving tour, you share a lot of valuable information. Has any one ever told you that you sound a lot like Lady Bugout, even with same upspeak?
I haven't heard that. 🤣
You're correct about being able to camp out there for free year-round on BLM land, but you are limited to 14 days in a 28 day period. Then you have to move 25 miles away and cannot return until the 28 day period has expired.
Yes.
Glad you & winston made it safe🙏Do the tent vendors take only cash or credit/debit ect..? Thanks
It depends on the vendor! Most take any form of payment but some are definitely cash only. I'd recommend always having some cash in Quartzsite.
Good video!!!
Thanks friend!
You mentioned an average low of 55 degrees which is pretty far off, much colder at night in December - February
But it's October right now lolol
@@AdventuringWithAmanda Obviously......but you said "the coldest month is January and it can get down to 55 degrees" 3:21
We are based in AZ and go to Quartzsite in late Jan/early Feb. MUST take selfies with all of the camel sculptures/statues around town! It is a "dumpy small town," NOT a resort, but that is part of it's charm! Unfortunately, it is becoming a mecca for the Homeless By Crazy/Drug Addiction population. Lots more "sketchy" people, ruining it for everyone else. If you go, visit the local shops and museum and spend some cash at the restaurants that are NOT fast food chains! Also, be forewarned that it can be crazy windy in Jan/Feb, to the point where you don't even want to step outside of your rig! Those "Warm Winter" temps often involve crazy windstorms!
You're so right on all points!
You did an excellent job on your video of Quartzsite. I lived there year round for 20 years. In that time, no one has ever pronounced Kuehn the way you did. So I was interested to know where you learned your pronunciation? Locals pronounce it "Que in"
Locals taught me last season.
Russ of RVerTV seems hooked up with more locals than anyone, and he pronounces it "Q in" or "kyooin". I had neighbors in NJ with that name growing up, and the official New Jersey pronunciation is "kyoon", rhymes with tune.
Amanda, that terrible post did not come from me I love your channel and Wynston .
Just wanted to say thanks for the tour. Hope you continue to have nice weather days ahead.
I appreciate you!
Thank you. At that water vending place can you buy water out of a hose to fill a motorhome tank?
Yes! There is a hose.
@@AdventuringWithAmanda Thanks.😎
Yes. Another popular place to get water is at the Pit Stop, on Central (95) just after you leave Main to go north toward Parker. They have RO (reverse osmosis) water and regular well water, plus propane, dump, etc.
That area was a wash and that's where the water runs off during a storm and that area had been flooded that's why it was kind of messed up
Sorry for the double comment but do you know if a lot of the "seasonal positions" at the shop and restaurants etc are often filled by winter campers?
Yes they are often filled by winter visitors.
Land around Quartzsite is PUBLIC LAND that is MANAGED by Bureau of land management. (BLM)
Groceries in Quartzsite are over priced and let's not forget the 10 percent sales tax. Better to make the drive to Parker and do the Smiths and Walmart stores.
Hi Amanda I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for this video, it was very informative. On this water vending machine, is this drinkable water correct. I've in Quartzsite twice and didn't knew where it was located, thank you so much.
Yes it's drinkable and delicious!
I be there in end Dec For 6 mo:s
Like and subscribe.
Hi! Could you do a video on clothes that work for nomad/van life?
I'd say the clothes that work best are whatever you're comfortable in. ♥️
Where do you stay? I only knew about the Ltva land, sounds like I don't want to be there.
Don't let one person's opinion, worries, or experiences close your mind to it. Every friend of mine who's spent a winter in an LTVA, or visited it for days, weeks, or months, came out of the experience just fine, and with friends gained.
There's a reason that BY FAR, more people who spend more than 2 weeks in the Quartzsite area, especially in Jan/Feb, stay there. If you go to any place in the USA with hundreds of thousands of people there, there will be some drunks, some druggies, some weirdos and at least a handful of registered sex offenders. In the winter, the population of Quartzsite (or Disney World, for that matter) is that of a decent-sized city.
There are other great places to boondock, or to pay to be in an RV park, but they get crowded. If you don't bring people to be your neighbors, who knows what people or groups will be at any specific spot you decide to stay at. A pass to one LTVA lets you go to all LTVAs, and even within each LTVA, you're not tied to the first place you park.
