Produce Like A Pro is a website that features great tips to help the beginning recordist make incredible sounding home recordings on a budget.
What's the most important design part of building your studio?
An environment that helps people to feel relaxed and at home.
Too easy to make everything feel sterile and formulaic while making a studio perform sonically.
Of course you want it to sound great, but it has to feel welcoming too.
Know what you want to get out of it. Of course, treatment and gear is key to efficiency but you have to know what you're building and why.
Money 💰
Planning
filming it for UA-cam 🤣
What is great about these types of talks is they give you the end result you need to achieve. In solutions architecture we often start with the current architecture and the to be architecture. Then you start planning migrations to the to be architecture and steps on how to get there. Sometimes it is big bang other times you can make smaller steps but anyone building a studio should go through this type of exercise/plan in order to get closer and closer to the end result. I think we often believe we cannot do great mixes without all this in place but the best piece of advice I have ever received (and it was from Warren) is "spend more time in your room listening to the music you enjoy". That single piece of advice has changed my mixing completely.
Thanks ever so much Kenneth!
Who is the artist of the song Dangerous? Jaycen says It’s the best mix he ever did. They talk about it in the end.
Meek Mill if anyones still wondering
This is such a great panel and topic. Love seeing Rafa and Jaycen together!
Thanks ever so much
What a treat! I am treating my drum room as we speak.
Thanks ever so much!
Loved it! Loved being a part of this panel with such great talented people… thanks for putting this up Warren…
Thanks ever so much! Great being able to do this!
Amazing to hear you speak and get to know what you do. thank you.
@@yanivbenari7905 yes, agreed 100%!
Warren, thank you so much for bringing us this invaluable video, this is a gold mine, with giant nuggets everywhere 🔥
I've learned so much, thanks again
Thanks ever so much! I’m glad to be able to help
Very useful info about optimum studio sound. Many Thanks Warren...
Thanks ever so much
hey Warren!
thank you for this video!
unfortunately i have a big problem with the attitude of the speaker (especially Jaycen Joshua).
how am i supposed to understand when someone tells me he can only mix through „Augspurger“ monitors !?
i thought professionals could work with (nearly) anything?
in the last decades excellent mixes have been created.
basically i already understood what he meant…but it’s a bit off the wall.
these statements cannot be valid for me.
but again….thanks for the insight!
He knows when he’s doing his best work. It can be discouraging when price points are so high for that caliber equipment but everybody starts somewhere and it isn’t there. He could have mentioned that but his perspective is just from where he’s at & what he’s grown comfortable with.
I think making the best of the possibilities you have. Find the best solution for your space and budget.
Absolutely!
so many great topics in here, thanks for this!!
Thanks ever so much
So much knowledge in this panel from top of the top guys it’s fricken awesome
Absolutely! Thanks E Rock!
Hey Wazza/Eric, is there more AES product videos coming? I’m hoping to see Eric Valentine’s new 500’s 🫡😊
Yes! Coming very soon!
Dave M rocks!🤘🏼
Marvellous! Thanks ever so much
Such an interesting topic thanks for sharing this, will definitely check this guys work and wow reference playlist…I gotta get on mine!
Thanks ever so much!
Great discussion, but after a while it started to sound like a promo for Augspurgers. Thankfully they got past that after about 15 minutes. Really interesting stuff.
Great video sounds. 👍 sounds music 👍
Thanks Peter!
For anyone watching this, just skip 15 to 20 mins in. After that, it gets a bit more interesting I guess.
warren is such a G
Thanks ever so much George!
I don't know why Rick Ruebin pops into my mind. I suppose it would be that sound design has to include vibes and creative atmosphere as well as actual sound design.
Not sure Rick has any special magic, his rooms tend to be the typical Neve equipped rooms in LA.
Thanks for your comment!
@@Producelikeapro I watched the 30min special on Rick and the hip hop evolution. Was really worth the watch. I was more or less referring to his estate and home recording spaces. Didn't get to see the Equipment on a grand scale of details, however I am sure you're 100% right on the no magic regarding equipment lol Ricks magic was more or less spiritual advisory skills and taste for miminalistic distraction type environments.
wish could see the various design drawings etc they refer to but not on video

What brand and model of wireless headphones is everyone wearing and why are they wearing them?
In the auditorium it was very loud and there were loads of other events going, so everyone in the audience was wearing headphones
I need a studio
Keep working art this and it will come! I started in my bedroom like everyone else!
Good conversation but I would imagine very few people have the budget to design a studio. With that said, I much rather work in a naturally lit environment with views of nature than in a dark and sterile studio.
Of course, Jaycen has been making records for many years, he’s created a huge amount of success to do this and just like everyone else he had a small home set up. I love inspiring stories!
💯% agree, visual and lighting is paramount. You could have the best sounding room in the world, however if it isn't inspiring or lit properly you might as well forget it lol 👊🧡👍
@@drindy5166 absolutely!
42:02 what website are they talking about here? Couldn’t make out what they were saying.
Me too

Wish the audio wasnt super gated =/
The Audio we got wasn’t very good unfortunately, however I’m happy we got it and we’re able to present this.
@@Producelikeapro Still marvelous content as always! =)
@@MariJu1ce thanks ever so much!
The gated sound is terrible and makes it hard to listen to. You would think the AES would get this right?!... Right?.. Sorry for speaking up, but really...
These all are renowned mix engineers and the way they are recording this video sounds horrible
Hi, Guys would you please add links to their company site? (Jokamy?) would be amazing.
Yes! It's there! Thanks ever so much
