I just got a cockapoo 9 days ago. He was 12 weeks. He is the chillest sweetest puppy I’ve ever had. He is so smart. His previous owners didn’t do anything with him for the month they had him. In one week we have crate trained him (he was scared of it when he came and enjoys it now.) He sits, lies down, shakes, look at me, gentle, touch and potty trained. He is so affectionate. I work with him during meal times and I’m blown away with how smart and calm he is. My kids play hard with him a few times a day and it seems to make him really happy. When the weather gets better I’m looking forward to taking him on two walks a day.
He is definitely Velcro. Stays with me always. Im excited to see what he’s like as he grows. I hope he stays chill like yours did!!!

I enjoyed your video. I have had 3 Standard Poodles, and I showed a champion Tibetan Terrier. A groomer friend told me about a 4 year old Bichon who had been abused and needed a home. After a couple of months I helped build up her self-esteem, earned her trust and she spent 10 wonderful years with me. I developed a respect for lapdogs. After she died I searched the local rescues but could only find large pitbulls. A friend who is a breeder connected me with a Cockapoo breeder who after 6 months decided that the bitch she had was getting to large for the small Cockapoos she wanted to breed. We met in a Tractor Supply parking lot. I handed her an envelope full of cash, and she handed me a 6 month old female Cockapoo. Her father was Poodle and mother a Cockapoo, so she's 3/4 Poodle. She has a dense curly coat. I groom her. She is 16 months old and weighs 22.6 pounds. She is all the pros that you described. I am a single, a retired teacher and she goes everywhere with me. She's the best cuddle buddy and snuggles close to me all night.

Great video! On grooming, as I have afro hair, I've found grooming relatively easy as I use a tangle teaser and detangling spray which glides through tight curls much more than dog brushes

I had a Cockapoo Poodle (1/4 Cocker). His name was Chase, and he had intractable matting; his hair was a slight wave, which caused the hairs to stick together like velcro. My wife came up with a brilliant solution; we ripped the mats into ribbons, which made him look like a Rasta dog with dreadlocks. That is as you would see in a Puli or Komondor, but we made the dreads artificially. If the dreads would start to work farther from the body, as the mat grew longer, then we would just tear the mats back down close to the skin. There was always a looseness and springiness to the coils/dreads, so that they never tugged against the skin, or pulled on him. We was a love dog.
RIP, Chase. Aarre Peltomaa of Mississauga, Ontario
P.S. It is tough, but we have to steel ourselves to recognize that our dog won't live forever. We just have to accept that, and then GET ANOTHER DOG ! There is another dog waiting for your love, and you can't wallow in your grief.

Cockapoos are my breed, had them my whole life Love, Love them ! Yours is adorable! I have 2 and they are champagne colored , my boy Benny is super silly we call him ‘happy butt” because he wags his whole body. My girl is Lucy and she gets the ‘zoomies” and is like a circus dog. They follow my every footstep and I make their food from scratch, grooming is the major expense with these dogs but well worth it not to have to vacuum! lol
Did you know poodles were used a lot in the circus here in the US many years ago, smart & silly !

I agree! I got Bailey and then watched the videos and was like “have I made a mistake!”.
Bailey loves a good run around too!
We’re so lucky Bailey can be left for a few hours now. But I don’t leave him everyday obviously.
Yes the grooming is hard!! I don’t think people realise how often we have to brush them as well. I brush Bailey every day and bath and blow dry him once a week. Sometimes I brush Bailey for around an hour or two! It’s very time consuming and very expensive.
Bailey barks at cats, squirrels and the doorbell. Haha I never go to the toilet alone! Bonnie is going to be curly I think and Bailey is wavy! But they both don’t shed luckily. Peppa is so cute, can’t believe how cuddly she is!! Bless her! xxx

She is a gorgeous cockapoo ,mine is 6 months old today and in my opinion there is no-none-nothing that is negative with having a cockapoo. I don't like small dogs but after getting my cockapoo I can say that my opinion has changed THEY ARE THE BEST!!!! btw mine does not sleep all day and is always full of energy. He sleeps really well at night and stays asleep until we wake up.

She is precious. I have had many purebred poodles and adored each one of them. But I have been considering a Cokapoo, mainly because pure bred Poodles tend to have super sensitive stomachs (digestive issues). And some have epilepsy. Hoping for a healthier dog this time.

We had a female cock-a-poo for 16 years. We actually picked the runt of the litter on purpose. Very easy to train. I started out leash training and after training her to heel I was able to walk her without a leash. I could let her out the front door and had her trained not to leave the property boundaries. If she got too close to the boundary I just had to say ah ah and she would stop and turn around. She also was taught many tricks. I could point my hand as it were a gun and when I said bang she would drop down. I would make her sit then say give me 5 and she would give 1 paw. If I said give me ten she would give both paws . She was taught to stand up on her hind legs when I said dance and turn around and around on her hind legs. I also was able to train her to sing. We could be in the kitchen and if I said play the piano she would go downstairs and get up on the piano and walk back and forth along the keyboard. If I said go to bed she would run to our bedroom, jump up on the bed and lay on her pillow. Unfortunately at 16 years old I had to have her put down as she was totally blind and deaf but otherwise still healthy but was bumping into things and falling down the stairs. It has been 8 years and I am seriously missing her and I want to get another one.

I have two cockapoos and I must say they are fantastic dogs, very intelligent and obedient,we had them house trained within a week and they also had them in a crate which they went into every evening.
They love the water every time we take them a walk and if there’s water about they head straight for it,my dogs have never chewed anything in the house and they are no problems leaving them in for a couple of hours
The only thing is they do follow you everywhere and I mean everywhere,as for the grooming fortunately my wife is a hairdresser so for the last 10years she has cut their hair so a great saving there I have got to say they are the best dogs I have ever had

I have a cockapoo.... he is the best!!! I found him on Craigslist back in 2009 when he was 18 months old. He is a huge Velcro dog. He is currently almost 15 years old next month. He is blind in 1 eye, due to glaucoma, which is common in the breed, and also has HYPOglycemia, and a grade 3 heart murmur. Mine is small, he is only 14 lbs. my Jack has never been super high energy, and is super smart, and a somewhat picky eater. He was a barker a little bit when he was younger, but now only barks if he wants to be let in the door. He is the BEST thing I have ever gotten off Craigslist ❤❤❤❤

We have a Day-Z (Daisy) Cockerpoo. She’s nine years old and has always been a delight. Yes, she barks at the door when it knocks, but mostly out of excitement “oo who’s here Dad? Let em in we can all play together “.
One toilet accident is all we had, we took her outside every hour on the hour for the first week. She got the idea.
She goes to the hairdressers once every two months. Yes, we brush her to. Ears can be a bit of a problem. They get very warm and sweaty, we clean them with liquid(special cockerpoo ear juice!) and finger wipes.(from Monsterpets) Loves walks and cuddles and…”Belly Rubs”, o yes, “dem Belly’s Rubz is de best”. Don’t get any dog if you don’t like walking. Dogs like to walk, sniff and look at things and be nosey about a pile of leaves or a tissue. A big plus, Daisy gets my PJ’s for me when “she” wants bedtime.(the very cheek of it!) She is super smart aswell.
She is and has been an absolute treasure to our family life. Daisy is the spit of Pippa. They look very alike. Where I live is “Cockerpoo Central”, probably every street has at least one CP!! Enough, I am stopping now. Great video.

We had cockapoo.. named Maisy. She's amazing dog. All you have had said are true. All the pros and cons manifest on her. She became sick after 10 years of her life span. She got gallbladder but too expensive for surgery. The poor girl was put down(euthanasia). We missed her so much.

My cockapoo is quite big and tbh smart af. On average he gets walked once a day from 45mins to 3/4hours. He actually gets fed a main diet of raw meat/tripe etc. I cut his hair myself, he gets a "crew" cut every 2/3 months. Main health problem is his ears, Milo is 5 now and has had 2 ear infections. Awesome dogs
