Awesome catches Scott! Those intermodals are getting the packages delivered! And its always nice seeing ol' Glory waving in the background! Fantastic video! 🚂🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃❄☃️☃️🎄🎄🎄💯👍🇺🇸
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Charles! Yes, I heard they had the camera running now. I hope people don`t mind lots of deadtime. You can go 3 or 4 hours here and not see a thing, then you will get busy stretches for an hour or 2 then nothing again. I`m curious to see how it goes!
Love that Amtrak. We have a bunch of them here in Central North Carolina. But it looks really good to see this train in Glendale and a Horn Salute, also. Beautiful engine, I hope you got some still prints of this engine, I know Martin probably did. Thanks Scott for awesome video. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Jolly joyful day with family. Enjoy yourself. Christmas always brings out the kid in my heart. Remember unwrapping Toy Tractor-Trailers from under Christmas Tree on Christmas Morning. Every year got another TT to add to my collection. And God taught me how to drive one back in 1972, got my Trucker's license class A which is now call CDL A, I hauled Haz mat, Cabs for Caterpillar Tractors, engines, and rims and tires. I hauled with G D Transportation pulling for Caterpillar out of Clayton, NC Smithfield, NC and Sanford, NC, for 7 years on 3rd shift, loved this job!!!!!! Local runs and a few Port Runs to Newport New, VA and Portsmouth, VA. Also to Florence, SC. 6 days per week and some Sunday work.I drove TT for 35 years, clean record, no tickets, or wrecks. I have logs for 3,000,000 miles of safe driving and awards, too. Scott, have a great Tuesday, Christmas Eve, enjoy your family, Speak with you later. Merry Christmas, my Friend.
Merry Christmas to you too, Rev! Sounds like you had a great career, thanks for sharing! Martin was not at the tracks yesterday unless he was at another spot. I put some pictures up on the Glendale Facebook page. Hope your Christmas is a great one!
I’m glad you got the Amtrak train Scott. This video is a super one. Can’t believe that one CSX locomotive pulled 126 loaded cars. That was a hard pull for sure. Try to stay warm. Thanks for what you do. ❤
Thanks for braving that wind! Incredible captures. Including a daylight Amtrak (never seen a video of that train in Southern Ohio) plus the wonderful local. Do have wonderful Christmas all!!
All right Scott another awesome video my friend and once again, merry Christmas to you and your family and I hope y’all have a great day tomorrow brother and as always you stay safe out there try to stay warm and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
Only 8 hrs. late? Back in 2001 we got into San Antonio 19hrs. late, never rode Amtrash again. That one car was definitely getting "jiggywiddit'. Gotta love that runner buffer car. Cool video for HoHo eve, liked it much. Thanks Scott!
I heard that it was. It took VR 7 months to get it up and working. The original estimate was something like 6 weeks back in April, I think. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Rick!
CSX does that all the time with that train. I think it runs up to Willard, Ohio to the yard there. That`s a long hike with one locomotive! Merry Christmas to you and your family, Marcus!
Good Christmas Eve morning Scott & everyone, its a mild one here 54°f & cloudy. Love the Amtrak I've never seen one in Glendale before & a horn salute too! It broke the rules for y'all You got a great mix of trains even though a slow morning Scott. Single CSX working hard! no dpu? that's incredible 126 cars. What are they feeding that loco lol. 😅 I saw a picture on YT of an intermodel over 400 cars & 3 miles long! that would be cool to see. Fab video Scott & merry Christmas! ❤🎅☃️🥰👍
Good morning on this Christmas Eve Day, we were hoping for snow, but the weatherman was not gracious to us, this year, maybe next year.. Sure did want to see some!!!!. But weatherman did say around January 2 nd thru 5th suppose to get a massive snow system, dropping around 15 to 20 inches of snow on us and my friend Scott. Hope the weatherman was correct. Miss Carol, I watch Direct Weather on You-Tube. He is pretty much on target. Have a very awesome Christmas with family and friends.
Good morning, Carol! Yes, that was a first for me catching Amtrak here. I was glad I got it! I am always amazed at the power those locomotives have. I don`t see how they do it, but they sure are working hard and you can definitely hear it when they pass by! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas across the pond! Tell everyone I said Hello from America!
Good made video, mr 1960gambit. Nice , a Amtrak through Glendale. What you say never seen here. Thx for this topvideo 🚆🚆🚆👌💪👍💪👍👌🚆 in Glendale Ohio. All you followers from you mr 1960gambit Merry Christmas. Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
Thanks so much, Roelof! Yes, this is the first time catching Amtrak in Glendale for me. They usually come through around 2:30 AM. Have a very Merry Christmas with your family, Roelof!
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I heard that the camera was finally working. It only took VR about 7 months to make it happen. The thing you find out about that line really quick is there is more dead time that trains rolling through. You can go 4 hours or more and not see a thing there. I have experienced it many, many times while sitting trackside. Best times are early morning and after about 2 to 4 PM eastern time. The rest of the time it`s pretty dead.
That’s why CSX has a lot of engine problems with their locomotives because they pulling 126 cars with one locomotive trying to save a couple thousand gallons of fuel that’s the whole reason behind that
Awesome catch on the Amtrak train! Nothing like being at the right place at the right time! CSX locomotive sure put on a show of brute strength pulling that long string of cars. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas to you and your family too, Dale! That's right, gotta be at the right place at the right time! It also helps when you get a tip from another railfan! Lol
With one loco pulling 128 cars that is amazing and happy holidays to you as well maybe I,ll make a trip down to see you all at the old Cock-in-Bull to have a meal there. But there is a catch I need someone to come at the CVG Airport to pick me up. That might be in about two to three years from now. And I am serious of coming down.
Well, now that you mention it, out of all your vids that I've watched the last few years I can't remember seeing an Amtrak train. And I'd say that's being on top of your game when you know Amtrak's schedule through Glendale, and is running 8 hrs. behind. And there's probably some pissed off passengers at this point .. especially if they have a destination for Christmas. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas with family and friends, Scott. As always, thanks for another great video.
Thanks Kenneth! I got a heads up from SD70AH that it was running way behind, so I got up early and headed over there. I `ve gotten the Cardinal in Thurmond, West Virginia a couple of times, but never in Glendale. It usually goes through here around 2:30 in the morning! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Yes, they typically go through at about 2:30 in the morning and never in daylight if they are on schedule. I was glad I got it! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
When the Cardinal ran out of Washington in the 90's and early 2000s it was all Superliners. It was changed to view liners when the Superliners were required out west and the eastern terminal was moved to New York. This is probably a car headed to the Beech Grove shops near Indianapolis for repairs from the Autotrain consist.
Thanks for the info, David. I know very little about Amtrak. This is the only train that comes through here and it only runs 3 days a week in the middle of the night. When I was a kid, the Shenandoah ran through my hometown to DC every day or close to it. CSX pulled up the tracks to Parkersburg, WV back in the mid 80s and that was that. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
That`s a question I can`t answer. We don`t get much Amtrak here. The Cardinal is the only train they have go through Cincinnati and it`s only 3 days a week in the middle of the night. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas sir to you and family! Been missing you guys in the trenches thx godbless
You`re very welcome! I`m glad you enjoy the videos. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Kim!
Lunar is the right words for that light.
Catching the power on first one .. nice 👍
It was great to see it out there!
Awesome catches Scott! Those intermodals are getting the packages delivered! And its always nice seeing ol' Glory waving in the background! Fantastic video!

Merry Christmas to everyone and thanks for sharing your videos. I saw that the virtual rail camera is now active there..
Caught him the same day in South Portsmouth. 8 hours late. Superliner car being ferried to Beech Grove shops.
Love that Amtrak. We have a bunch of them here in Central North Carolina. But it looks really good to see this train in Glendale and a Horn Salute, also. Thanks Margie! Yes, that is one powerful locomotive for sure! I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas! Be safe out there!
Thanks for braving that wind! Incredible captures. Including a daylight Amtrak (never seen a video of that train in Southern Ohio) plus the wonderful local. Do have wonderful Christmas all!!

Awesome Nice catch I see the Glendale Virtual Railcam is now working
I heard that it was. It took VR 7 months to get it up and working. The original estimate was something like 6 weeks back in April, I think. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Rick!
The longest one locomotive train I’ve ever seen…. That was a good one. Merry Christmas.
CSX does that all the time with that train. I think it runs up to Willard, Ohio to the yard there. That`s a long hike with one locomotive! Merry Christmas to you and your family, Marcus!
Good one Scott. BIg trains today. Thanks and hope Christmas was great and the New Year will be your best.

Nice catch of the Amtrak.
Thanks Joker! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
@1960gambit You too!
How in the world can one locomotive pull all that weight? .. 126 cars, and probably half of them were loads .. absolutely amazing.
I am amazed every time I see that. CSX does that all the time to that train too.
That’s why CSX has a lot of engine problems with their locomotives because they pulling 126 cars with one locomotive trying to save a couple thousand gallons of fuel that’s the whole reason behind that

That sounds like a plan! I`m sure we can figure something out! Merry Christmas Dale!

Merry Chruistmask
Thanks Jimbo! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
6:45 Not often do you see a amtrack on the toledo sub nice catch there 1960 Gambit 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Yes, they typically go through at about 2:30 in the morning and never in daylight if they are on schedule. I was glad I got it! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
At 15:20 No DPU on the end of the train either. That must be one strong engine.
It really must be because that was a heck of a load to be pulling! Merry Christmas to you and your family, Dan!
My question is how a superliner got on the Cardinal, because those can't run on the NEC or south out of Washington.
When the Cardinal ran out of Washington in the 90's and early 2000s it was all Superliners. It was changed to view liners when the Superliners were required out west and the eastern terminal was moved to New York. You can look at that flag and tell the wind is pretty strong.
It definitely was, and cold too! Lol
