THANKS MAN I ORDER PARTS FROM YOU GUY'S ALL THE TIME. LEARN A LOT FROM YOUR VIDEO !!!!!
Thank you so much! This worked great! The only thing you didn't mention in the video was the plastic cover that blocks access to the engine. You need a small (1/2 in) rachet to remove it. Otherwise all great! My mom and I replaced ours in less than a half an hour! Thanks again!
Always detailed, simple instructions. Much appreciated... Will knock this out and save about 500 dollars. Thank you
Thank you for the great reply. We love to empower our customers by showing you how-to perform your own auto repairs while installing our high quality auto parts. Have a great day! 1aauto.com
You may want to check the motor mounts to see if one of them could be bad. Hope this helps you out.
If you get a check engine light, pull the code and see what it points to. You may want to have the alternator tested to see if it is working correctly. It's not uncommon to get a bad rebuilt, it can happen. We carry brand new alternators for many vehicles on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 all of our parts include FREE SHIPPING in the lower 48 states.
Torques according to manual are bottom two bolts 15-22 ft lbs , upper bolts 71-106 in lbs (6-8 ft lbs), power connector 62-79 in lbs (6 ft lbs)
@prieto108 You may want to try to charge the battery. If you have plenty of power the starter solenoid may be bad.
Thanks for checking us out. Have a great day.
Love your video's !!! Thanks for all the hard work putting these together for us !!!
wow, i now feel like i can do this on my own instead of getting hassled by some Auto Center for a rediculous amount of money! Thank You
GREAT VIDEO !!!! i just did this repair earlier today based off this video information !! 2 THUMBS UP GUYS !!!! saved me about $70 !!!
This video made it very easy to install new alternator and serpentine belt.
Thank you
The AMPS and the way it mounts might be different.
@prieto108, that has happened to me. Usually it's because of a weak connection of the ground cable on the battery. If you can wiggle or pull off the terminal with your hand, it's not tight enough and the car will only click. Tighten it and it'll work.
@kennethbrown29 Thank you for visiting out auto repair channel. HAVE A GREAT DAY!
BTW you don't have to take the belt all the way off if you don't want to. You can just pull it off the alternator pulley and let it rest in place.
+Charles Cass We appreciate the feedback. Sometimes there are multiple ways to accomplish the same repair.
Great site extremely informative. Thank you for enabling me to do some repairs myself by way of video education...And while reassembling not one extra bolt screw or nut to boot... But i do have a diagnostic question, where could i submit that for a possible answer ?

Great video, I followed your instrunctions on replacing my alternator in my 1998 towncar after i tried cranking it up the engine shook real hard what could be the cause of this.

Thanks very much - well done, easy to follow even for me!
This was amazing. The shop tried to charge a young lady $110 just to do this. I looked at and in my head i said that looks wayyy to simple and BOOM 💣💥💣💥💣💥 Easy does it.

Good job but there was no guidance on how to disconnect the wire harness (3:43 to 3:54). The instructor’s hand covered the disconnect and there was no verbal guidance. Where does one insert the screwdriver? At what angle? I cracked the plastic on the alternator being removed - fortunately it was being replaced.
Good video. Very efficient, but, my 1999 tensioner is a 1/2 drive socket. Of course, I don't have one anymore, so my son is coming up after work to install it for me. Thank you sir again.....

I have a 2007 Lincoln Town Car Designer serirs and I wanted to know what is the standanrd amp for the alternator and if I could purchase a app that has different amp power. I'm looking to purchase a 130 amp and wanting to know will it still work on my Town Car if the town car requires a 95 amp alternator
+Charles LYLES JR. Here is a link to the 135 amp one that we carry for your vehicle. It would be a direct replacment. goo.gl/RgCkAt
I saved time by removing the serpentine belt from only the alternator pulley; complete removal was not necessary.
Nice! Thanks
+John Stuart Thanks for the feedback!
This can't be a 99 Lincoln that you are working on. My setup is slightly different and slightly difficult 😞
