  • In this Madinah Arabic Short tutorial will start Lesson 14 of Madinah Arabic Book1 . We will officially start using 2 new detached pronouns ضَـمِيرٌ مُنْفَصِلٌ ANTUM - and ضَـمِيرٌ مُنْفَصِلٌ NAHNU.
We will also start using the ضَـمِيرٌ مُتَّصِلٌ - KUM as in ROBBUKUM - your lord for JAMU’ AL MUTHAKKAR and ROBBUNAA - our lord.
We will practice using these pronouns by answering questions in exercise 1 of the Lesson on pages 83 and 84.
    مَنْ رَبُّكُمْ؟ رَبُّنَا اللهُ
    ما لُغَتُكُمْ؟ لُغَتُنَا العَرَبِيَّةُ
    مَنْ أَنْتُمْ؟ نَـحْنُ أَطِبَّاءُ
    أَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ؟ نَعَم، نَـحْنُ مُسْلِمُونَ
In the second part of the lesson we will read the main dialog of the lesson on page 82. This dialog is between a man named Hamid and a bunch of young fellas. We will encounter some ISM type words that end with الْأَلِفُ الْمَقْصُورَةُ such as مُوسَى MUSAA, لَيْلَى LAYLAA , عِيْسَى ISAA, and المُسْتَشْفَى ALMUSTASHFAA. These ASMAA’ cannot take KASROH to show the sign of MAJRUR state or DHOMMAH to show the sign of MARFUU’ state. Examples:
    نَـحْنُ أَبْنَاءُ الدُّكْتُورِ مُوسَى
    هُوَ مَرِيضٌ. هُوَ الْآنَ في المُسْتَشْفَى
    أَيْنَ عَمُّكُم الشَّيْخُ عِيْسَى
    اِسْمُها لَيْلَى
In the dialog we will see the dua شَفَاهُ اللهُ (May Allah cure him) and will talk about how past tense verbs can be used as in DUAA or supplications in Arabic.
Lastly we will see the relationship between NAAT and MANUWT in phrase بَيْتُنا الـجَدِيدُ in sentence:
    بَيْتُنا الـجَدِيدُ قَرِيْبٌ مِن الـمَطَارِ
We will discuss why الـجَدِيدُ is coming as مَعْرِفَةٌ here. In short, in بَيْتُنا the DHOMEER MUTTASIL -NAA is making BAYTU MA’RIFAH. Because مَنْعُوتٌ and نَعْتٌ must match in definiteness, the NAAT ALJADIYDU becomes MA’RIFAH too.

Assalamualaikkum... 7:58 "Duktoorun" is mentioned as "Dr" in this lesson but in Lesson 5 Part 5 "duktoorun" is mentioned as Professor. Why is it so ?

Assalamualaikkum.. 14:25 why is it written as " qalamiyal maksooru " and not as " qalamee al maksooru " ?
