I, together with my brother, sis-in-law, niece & nephew, experienced the same situation. We took a bus from Kyoto to Osaka bec train trips were cancalled due to typhoon. I remember that after that day, heavy rains didn’t stop us from walking to look for Ippudo but unfortunately we couldn’t find it which led us to eat in Ichiran again. 😅😅😅

very interesting to see many types of sushi that are not fish. I have a hard time eating fish so the beef, eggplant and corn sushi are nice alternatives
I was stuck in Tokyo station even on the 16th, because the Tokkaido Shinkansen was still closed. I went to JR ticket window at the station and the agent was zero help. I was the one who found a limited express train on Google map that travels to the same destination. Got to the destination 3 hours later than expected. Part of the Tokkaido toll highway was also closed on that day. The road was a mess.

I remember riding a regular JR train in Chiba during a typhoon and it was a wild experience. Lots of creaking sounds and definitely way more vibrating and shaking than the train ever had in normal weather.
On Sunday August 13th (4 days ago) I was in Universal Studio and it was hot from morning until afternoon Right before I entered Super Mario World according to my time entry at 16:50, it was rainy with thunderstorm. USJ staffs were busy coordinating people to take cover. At that time I realized I must leave and head to parking lot It took around 15 minutes walking fast to reach level 2 where I parked my car. It was quite scary because of the thunder On the next day at Kyoto Kinkakuji and Kiyomizudera were so hot and crowded, but at 3 PM I had to leave because of the typhoon warning. Finally around midnight the typhoon got me on the mountain between Gifu and Nagano. It was insane and I hardly saw the road Anyway thanks for this video, Rion san. Peace from Tochigi

I am watching your typhoon video on the buses bound to Split for I am about to attend the piano recitle by Hayato Sumino at the Loop Festival down there. I am muting the sound but I could figure it out that it was not that bad. Naimly John Dow was riding Shikansen from Hiroshima to Tokyo which was overloaded ( up to Osaka people were standing) and filming while leaving Shin-Osaka. The sky over your hometown looked totally black with rather ominous clouds. You could have even enjooy sushi at your favorite restaurant chain.and there wete people at Dotombory ani in the spaces with roof. It seems to me that you had a haircut. Cute! After reaching Split I will rewatch it with audio. Have a nice ride back to Tokyo. GAOO!!
I can’t believe I was literally there and did not see you! My husband and I had hoped to meet you while we were in Japan! We were lucky to find a place open to go to. We went to Dontanbori and everything was closed apart from 3 places with crazy massive queues. There were a lot of lost tourists wandering around (including ourselves!) 😅😅 Edit: We were in the queue for strawberry mania!! Can’t believe we didn’t see you! 😅 As I’m watching this it’s bringing back so many memories. My husband and I thought it was hilarious that the only places open were the pachinco arcades 😂

Hi Rion me and my husband were in Osaka and were affected by the typhoon as we cant travel to Tokyo. Had to book one extra night in Osaka and shorten one day in Tokyo 😅

We were also stuck in Osaka. We just relaxed and ate at our hotel. The next day was a mad house at the JR Shinkansen ticket area.
