Ollie rang the bell! Next: Dan rides his bike, Conor hydrates enough for an ultra endurance event, Si makes peace with Cows, Hank rides around a puddle, and Alex rides up a hill.
"Colour Blindness" usually means a deficiency in certain colours. For instance I can see lots of colours but not pale pink. The purple trace on my Garmin is indistinguishable from the blue, brown or red roads/rivers depending on the sunlight or lack of. Thank goodness they put little arrows on the route trace now.
Jayco Al Ula have the best new kit in the whole world tour, hands down. The contrast of the shorts and their jersey is bold and breaks the boring norm.
Gary Numan is so much more than a one-hit wonder for his song Cars in 1980 and I learned that in chats with him here on UA-cam. He used to fly WWII warbirds in air shows and helmed an air-courier service in Europe and did a lot more music than just Cars, of course. And in one conversation he talks about ice on the wings of a plane forcing an impending ditching in the Pacific when, low over the water, the ice melted and he was able to keep flying that vintage plane in pursuit of an aviation accomplishment. Incredible.
Good for the sport that we're seeing more variety in kits than last year. I like Cofidis, it will look good on the bike and be easy to spot. Jayco's purple looks good and the grey shorts, something different. The Van Rysel bike is really nice! And I agree with Alex, Remco's bike did not look good, too gaudy and the color seemed off.
Altho Oli was dismissive of my bike vault submission (the Litespeed) due to it being a non-drive side presentation- a valid criticism- however i should have pointed out on the original posting that not long after that foto was taken the bike (and me) was shattered when a motorist ran into us head-on; so there never an opportunity to take a proper bike vault picture, and this bicycle is now on the great titanium heap in the sky. (so much for investing in a titanium frame so as to never have to buy another.) given the extenuating circumstances please reconsider supernicing it for the bike vault.
do you remember a decade or so back when the old tinkoff saxo team introduced two kits per season (a training kit and a race kit) with different designs and colours?
When it comes to team bikes and kits, my opinion often depends on whether I'm considering what I'd personally ride and wear or how well it represents the team. For example, I’d never ride in/on the Lidl-Trek kit/bike myself, but I think it fits the team branding perfectly. Also, I really enjoy the variety that the different styles bring to the peloton.
I really wish you’d done all the teams together (men and women). Putting the women’s teams after the men’s really drives home the second class athletes vibe that we’re already trying to fight?
COFIDIS one is the uniform for somebody who works in a condiment factory, mustard, ketchup and brown sauce. It could also be for somebody who works in a chippy, ketchup, brown sauce or curry sauce with your chips
22:14 “the bike is going to carry them through the season” Quite literally 🤣🤣🤣 Then he follows that with a chuckle which makes me wonder whether the joke is intended 🤔
The awkward extended laughing makes me think Alex has had too much sugar over the holiday! DSM Lapierre paint scheme is giving me flashbacks of '90s GT MTBs. The Jayco MAAP jerseys are the hottest this season.
UAE ladies Colnago's are a retro throwback to the mid 90's and Romingers hour record bike. Never been a fan of Soudal's designs as they have been safe and predictable, BUT, OMG that new paintjob is insane. Lidl/Trek's standard bikes is also very reminiscent to LOOK and their Mondrian designs. Whoever designed the "X-Lab" logo needs to go back to design school, pronto
favourite bike in 2024: EFs cannondale favourite bike in 2025 (so far): FDJ-Suez (surprised you didn't catch it considering it came out in early december)
Great show, as always...but it could be even better if you could find a way to add a female presenter to your team. The dynamics, insights, humor, and general perspective would add immensely to the show. The GTN and GMBN year-end wrap-ups were an outstanding example of a successful formula in action. I'm looking forward to more GCN greatness in 2025!
I assumed like Ollie that Team Visma-Lease a bike would move away from yellow, but only because that was the colour of their previous major sponsor Jumbo. However their press release from Jan 1st reveals that the 2025 kit is still black and yellow. BTW you have a typo in the credit text for the Cervelo bike image at 14:48 - hopefully Visa don't sue you 😀
Great show and thanks for the round up of all the new equipment. I have to disagree with Ollie on most kits, the Arkea is better than the Cofidis because no kit needs nicotine yellow. His colourblindness was very apparent in this episode 😉😂
Red and yellow can be great colors together (see any number of flowers as examples), but if you get them wrong they just look like ketchup and mustard. I don't want to look like a BBQ was painted on me. Flowers yes. BBQ no.
#askgcntech I’m new into gravel biking and for my road bike, I have 40cm wide handlebars and 170mm cranks (I’m 6-1 and ride a L/58cm bike). Do I get handlebars and cranks the same size or different for a gravel bike? Also, do you use your same road helmet or have a different one to not get your road helmet dirty from gravel rides?
Have we not learned by a team called Redbull Racing Formula One Team? That paint is not changing for a while lol. We might get a little bit of extra light blue or red.
Not really related to this video, but is there a way to watch the Back on Track series about the track champions league that y'all did a few years ago? Cant seem to find it
I don't care what the kit looks like as long as it doesn't look too much like any other team's kit and the leaders jerseys for the race. Nothing worse than watching the TDF trying to see where the yellow jersey is when there's a whole team of yellow jerseys in the peleton.
If Ollie actually thinks the Burgundy color in the top portion of the Cofidis jersey was brown, then he probably is color blind to certain colors. Like he said in a previous video he's not monochromatic. Some people are color blind to certain colors, and there is a simple test you can take to determine that. Or, maybe it is brown and I'm the one that's color blind.
Slightly ironic condemning the Fenix kit as a dull “solid colour block” with Alex wearing a solid colour block T shirt in exactly the same colour and Ollie wearing a solid black hoodie…
Ollie: “I’m color blind.” Then goes into great detail regarding the shades of yellow, white, gray and blue and how the color scheme for the Intermarchecw team is “crap”. 🤣
What were/are your favourite 2024 and 2025 team bikes and kit? 🚲👕 Let us know in the comments!
I love the Movistar kit.
Unpopular opinion... I don't care, I just want good racing
Some team kits look too much like national or European champions' kit; bands should be banned.
Those mosaic patterned bikes are ugly.. if you buy a Ferrari.. would you want it to be that color 😁
Loving the MAAP Jayco Alula stuff
GCN slags Arkea for having kit that looks a lot like…. GCN kit
And it even looks better than GCN, doesn't it?
@@danielakerman8241 🙌🤣
Honest question: why not wait until all the kits are out to do this show?
Came here to say this
but you miss out on the best part... the GCN letters on the butt
Ollie rang the bell! Next: Dan rides his bike, Conor hydrates enough for an ultra endurance event, Si makes peace with Cows, Hank rides around a puddle, and Alex rides up a hill.
Impossible
Best this season is Jayco Alula and its not remotely close
Lidl should ride Look... the Mondrian scheme would be perfect.
Ollie: "I'm color blind". Also Ollie: "Those yellows don't even match". That made me chuckle
As Ollie is English, he would be colour blind. He did seem to recognise those colours, though.
The yellow was a different shade of gray to him?
and also, at 3:50 "They've gone for the minty green at the back, black in the front with some dark blue...". Is he really colour blind? 🤔
It seems like he uses this excuse when it suits him, hmm unexpected.
"Colour Blindness" usually means a deficiency in certain colours. For instance I can see lots of colours but not pale pink. also he is in fear factory 🎸🥁🎸🥁🎸🥁🤘🤘
I'm waiting for a remake of this video. This one is a five out of ten. Just because time traveling isn't your best skill.
Cofidis kit is excellent. Easy to spot in the bunch
Could that be their goal when they design them?
Alex's reaction to Ollie ringing the bell was as great as Ollie ringing the bell 🤣
Gary Oldman is about 9 days younger than Gary Numan
Dont foget the R in Gary Oldmans name when googling him.
5:50 The colorblind one commenting on colors.
8:08 I quite like this bike. When Look had the Mondrian colorway, that was one of my favorite bikes.
Happy new year GCN!!
Happy new year!
Cofidis kit is pure fire! 🔥
Bingo
Why are two color blind guys weighing the merits of kit design?? The maroon isn't so bad with the red and yellow on Cofidis kits.
@@newttella1043 you raise a good point 😅
😍
The GCN boys are really colorblind... Brown? this is burgundy red 🤓
The Cofidis kit looks like a pill bottle taken straight out of a prescription commercial. Love it
10:30 Let’s see if Tudor can execute a Grand Tour win this year. I’ve read that historically they were very good at execution back in the 1500s!
🤣

fair!
Was the cofidis kit designed by Connor?
"Washed out gray" excuse me, SLATE.
Have seen Red Bull Bora training in Mallorca, and can confirm the bike design is the same as last year. They had over 60 bikes in front of the hotel!
Well done you two, great start to the year good reviews and well presented😎👍
Clearly Time Travel is not without side effects. Ollie ringing the bell, Alex saying Love you bye. It's chaos I tell you!
Happy New Year. GCN also needs a new team kit.
Their clothing sponsor is in financial difficulties, I believe.
intermarche should use the cube teamline colorway, thats a real racebike look, happy new year!
do you remember a decade or so back when the old tinkoff saxo team introduced two kits per season (a training kit and a race kit) with different designs and colours?
yeah, a few teams have done that since too. It was pretty cool wasn't it?
Look and Campy >>>>>>>>>>>>
What happened to EF Education Easy Post?
OLLIE RINS THE BELL. Wow 2025 will be a surprising year.
I like when the color blind one says black & white is boring
That could explain a lot of things.
Going to keep sending my bikes in to the bike vault in 2025 in the vain hope that one of them well be featured eventually.
You'll get there eventually. And you'll have had plenty of practice to get the image perfect, too! 🙂
Alex’s Orbea bike is indeed bronze. Dark bronze, in other words metallic brown.
Boy oh boy is my taste different from yours. That red uno x kit right in the beginning is a 9 out of ten for me
GCN presenters not happy with red and black kit (Arkea) - what the…?
I really wish you’d done all the teams together (men and women). Putting the women’s teams after the men’s really drives home the second class athletes vibe that we’re already trying to fight?
Jayco Alula is the absolute King of kits this year and I for one cannot wait to get my hands on it. I will move heaven and earth to get it!
COFIDIS one is the uniform for somebody who works in a condiment factory, mustard, ketchup and brown sauce. It could also be for somebody who works in a chippy, ketchup, brown sauce or curry sauce with your chips
Uno X will need a 2nd jersey for the Vuelta
Still in shock from seeing Ollie ringing the bell!.
I loved when Ollie reminded us that he's color blind, and Alex said with resignation, "Yeah it's gonna be a long show" with a deep sigh. 😂
22:14 “the bike is going to carry them through the season” Quite literally 🤣🤣🤣 Then he follows that with a chuckle which makes me wonder whether the joke is intended 🤔
Having yellow on the bike team uniforms is bad no matter what.
If Aaron's bike has a name, it should be Browny McBrownface; the brownest bike to ever brown.
The Trek Blue bikes being raced in Cyclocross. A 10!
loved the Gary Oldman joke lol
Best presenter bike was Alex’s CAAD custom for TDU. Love Cannondale.
Holy cow! Ollie rang the bell!
The awkward extended laughing makes me think Alex has had too much sugar over the holiday! DSM Lapierre paint scheme is giving me flashbacks of '90s GT MTBs. The Jayco MAAP jerseys are the hottest this season.
I've seen that same picture of that Canyon in the bike vault before
A very useful resource for bike photos.
HAHAHAHAHA - "a celebration of brown" - we already have a winner for commentator phrase of the year for 2025!!
The Liv Maap shorts, I would call a Dove Grey.
The problem is that most of those designs are done by a sales manager in Canva.
Make the logo bigger!!!
Love your bronze bike Alex!!!

I was going to play a drinking game where I drank every time Ollie mentioned that he is colour-blind, but think I'd be dead if I tried!

Fun fact: Gary Numan and Gary Oldman are almost the same age, but Numan is actually older than Oldman
Oh, the irony!
I like the Lidl design an lot. please dont let the discounter shop concept blurry your taste.

It will be nice if the GCN presenter goes to different places and arrange group rides for GCN fans
Jayco is a straight 10 🤝
you hate arkea but it's loads better than the gcn kit.
That Decathlon bike looks like the new Bianchi Oltre. Maybe it’s just the mint swathe on it.
Time for a scientific experiment: What‘s faster? Weight saving raw carbon or a paint job that makes you think „heck yeah“ each time you see your bike?
Great show and thanks for the round up of all the new equipment. I have to disagree with Ollie on most kits, the Arkea is better than the Cofidis because no kit needs nicotine yellow. His colourblindness was very apparent in this episode 😉😂

JayCo and FDJ Suez are by far the best in the pelotons. Great without their bikes and even better with. Lovely job on both.
Great start to 25 boys….keep up the mahi

Wait, the Wilier TT frame looks the same as the Y1Rs.
I hope MAAP will finally have a skinsuit, now that they’re in the worldtour
I am here for an opinion!!canyon aeroad cf Sl ultegra Di2 or pinarello F7 ultegra di2?

Cofidis has selected the 1980 colors of the Burger King uniform! LOL!
My white and black C64 is the DB’s
I would rank this video a 7 out of 10….kinda good but doesn’t blow me away.
I don't care what the kit looks like as long as it doesn't look too much like any other team's kit and the leaders jerseys for the race. Nothing worse than watching the TDF trying to see where the yellow jersey is when there's a whole team of yellow jerseys in the peleton.
Somehow, I don’t like sophisticated paint jobs that make the bike look dirty before even taking it out for a spin.
Ollie rang the bell! Twice. Alex looked shocked
If half of the teams haven't released kits or bikes yet for 2025, why make and post this video?
Giro Pink Pogacar Colnago V4RS is the one for me
The DSMxLapierre bike looks like it just ran afoul of a white paint works on a public building in a heavy wind.
2:13 there is no brown on that kit, from what I can see on my computer, the shorts look black (but maybe they are brown)
Brown saddles for the win! Tan sidewalls bonus points!
If Ollie actually thinks the Burgundy color in the top portion of the Cofidis jersey was brown, then he probably is color blind to certain colors. Is the cube bike a carbon copy of the Xlab bike, or vice versa?
Ollie: “I’m color blind.” Then goes into great detail regarding the shades of yellow, white, gray and blue and how the color scheme for the Intermarchecw team is “crap”. 🤣
20:10 That's why you get flags guys.
Good thing they gave H457UR's bike a super nice, else The King in Yellow wouldn't have been happy!
The Canyon kit is hideous. Are you guys obligated to pretend it's not ugly? Looks like a fart was made visible.
Womens Colnago is gorgeous
Maybe Alex should've told Ollie the Cofidis kit hasn't got brown in it, it's burgundy
White bikes 10/10!
Burger King and Cofidis they can pull it off.
