Master piece of design compared to the disaster that is the PoS5… No reason you shouldn’t be able to swap out the SSD. Not sure why MS would prevent such things.
That's awesome dude, glad to be of service 😀 just keep in mind that it's a good idea to back up your SSD after every update if you can. I know it's tedius and a pain in the backside but the security key changes with every update so if your ssd dies in the future you'll need a copy of the latest update as a backup
I have a similar issue with a series x. I’m at the screen where it asks me to offline update, but when I try to use osu1, it doesn’t do anything and errors. Cannot delete. Cannot reset.
YT did change the res even on this video. I switched up to 1080 and it's so much better ;) In 3 years we'll look back on this and say "You can get those SSDs now for $10"

I've got one in for repair that shows somewhat similar functions that yours has here. Except mine will beep with no display for approximately one minute before shutting off. What are the chances that this is an SSD issue as well? Any way to test before dumping the money into a new SSD and cloner? Will not boot into safe mode.

If you dont clone the SSD before it dies, then the Series X it becomes a paper weight. So make a clone of its SSD while its working to have a back-up of that 1GB partition that contains the key that "marries" to the motherboard.
Normally around 120⁰C mate. I generally do that without a nozzle because it makes the air flow less concentrated and keeps it from melting the sticker :)

Definitely don't erase the SSD on a computer. You need to clone the SSD onto another working drive because the drive contains a unique encryption key which is paired to the console. Wiping the drive will also wipe the key and you will never be able to fix the console at all
