Gives a whole new meaning to the term "hand made." I am at a loss to say just how impressed I am. If there was a world wide contest on hand made "things", you would be hard to bet against.
While serving an engineering apprenticeship in the 1960’s in England, I had to learn the skills of filing, hand cutting with a hacksaw, drilling, including sharpening by hand to the correct angle, etc, it took many months to acquire those skills and some of the test pieces we made as apprentices were used to mark our City and Guilds examinations. Once we had learned to file flat and square, and mark out and drill accurately, we would then progress to using machine tools. The instructor at the tech college told us that the tools we had mastered plus a cold chisel could manufacture almost anything. Watching you use your skills to such an excellent level it would appear that instructor was correct. Thanks for posting it brought back many memories.
WOW!!! This video pop up on my home page again 2 years later after seeing it for the first time. I was all like DAMN I remember this one. stopped what I was doing and was amazed all over again. Yes your still out of your mind! lol. still love it.
I'm so glad you didn't overkill the craftsmanship with oversized power tools. This was very enjoyable and soothing to watch and listen to. Much respect.
If I could stop watching videos like this I would start making my own tools like this. Very inspiring to see such craftsmanship using everyday scrap metals and wood. Excellent job, bravo!!!
You are a mastercraftsmanin both wood working and metal working The beautiful plane you have created using simple hand tools speaks for your skills.Well dpne
Brother, I have never seen anyone do so much beautiful and ACCURATE hack saw and coping saw work on metal in all my years! You are a true, TRUE, craftsman. Just beautiful workmanship, and a pleasure to watch. You are obviously just as talented with wood. You must have some very strong arms and hands.
Just goes to show you don't need a fancy decked out machine shop or super expensive tools to make a piece of very fine craftsmanship. Fantastic video and beautiful tool.
My favorite craftsman! You've made Stanley No40 analog! Very-very useful planer for getting surface flat and fast! Good job! I wish some day to own any of your made planers. That would be honor to me)
Dear Stavros, what a demonstration of raw skill and talent using mainly hand tools to craft this beautiful plane. I particularly like the use of flattened rivets to join pieces of metal. Looks very secure. Well done.
Szacunek. Pozdrawiam z Belgii i czekam na następne filmy.
Eisai protos!!!! Xara sto kouragio sou na min xrhsimopoieis sxedon katholou hlektrika ergaleia!! You are the first man!!!! So patient from you, for using almost no electric tools!
I loved every second of this video! I have watched hundreds of videos on tool restorations and tool building, so I have NO idea why it took me this long to find your channel. Your craftsmanship is top notch. Your editing is perfect! You don't show any more than you need to of each step of the process. Trust me when I say that your doing it right when, "I don't skip portions of your 20+ minute video," and that also says A LOT about your content in general. There's something extra satisfying about all the hand work you put into your beautiful creations. I have a Stanley no.40 and yours is gorgeous! You did an incredible job replicating the front knob especially. I will be watching a lot of your videos today and the days to come. Keep up the good work! Subbed!!!
I love watching you make things. It's very satisfying and entertaining. There is something to be said for making something like this from mostly simple hand tools. When people start busting out the many-thousand-dollar milling machines and CNC tables it just loses its relatability and charm.
Ogolnie jak to tu mowia You are tha man!!! Pozdrawiam
Z ogromną przyjemnością oglądam zamieszczane przez Ciebie filmiki. Wiem ile pracy musisz włożyć w to co robisz ,aby powstały te wspaniałe narzędzia. Zastanawia mnie skąd u Ciebie tyle determinacji i cierpliwości.
wow...i am speachless you did a fine job with mostly hand tools, no welding and with (in my opinion) great precision. First video watched of your channel but i'm in. So much time invested but that is a work of art.
Es simplemente extraordinario!! Excelente Trabajo. 🛠📐💯👌🏻🏅🏅🏅
