RØDE XCM-50 USB Condenser Microphone. I'm happy to own it thanks to Rode. The response from the audience was enthusiastic about the sound. I have used the Auna 900 USB microphone before (not a bad microphone) even with the Unify connection as a virtual device, but no settings can be achieved as with the XCM-50 and Unify. Because of the cleanliness of the win10 system I uninstalled and installed the Unify software. Connected the microphone. Microphone said I have a new update - downloaded? Downloaded installed in no time. Microphone set itself to preset values. I didn't adjust anything further and the sound was great. That's my observation. I wish everyone if you decide to get this microphone to be as happy as I am. 👌
❤ awesome combo 😎
I'm still debating whether to get the NT1 or the Procaster, is there a way I can try out both before committing?
Hey there- come vendors do offer in person tests, but we can't tell you which of our vendors will offer an in-store test and which won't. If you contact your local RØDE seller they can tell you whether they'd let you try them out in person. You could also try looking at some videos online comparing mics side-by-side. This will help you get a feel for which mic would best suit your needs.
Did you use the mic to record the vocals for this video or?
Hey there, we used a RØDE NTG3 shotgun microphone (just out of frame) to record the audio for this video. That was because we wanted to be able to show the front face of the XCM-50, so that meant that it wasn't going to be in an ideal position to record crystal clear audio. With the right positioning though, this mic sounds incredible as it is a condenser microphone, meaning that it picks up a lot of depth and detail, making it ideal of voice and/or acoustic instrument recordings.
@@rodemic You couldn't have had 2 XCM50's? One in frame and one for recording? Do you only have one? :D
is it compatible with Rode Central on android?
No, the XCM-50 is not designed for use with Android mobiles
Why have you abandoned RODE X & UNIFY? The program is still really buggy!
Appreciate the feedback, we're definitely still supporting UNIFY with updates so if there's something you want to see - let us know!
@@rodemic thanks for the reply. I have the mic and love it, but unify makes it crakle a lot, it's literally unusable with Unify on Windows 11 and I have seen a lot of people with the same issue. Do you guys have any solution?
