    First off, it was the rummaging for lip balm. Right on! 😆 This was such good info. I really needed this 3 years ago, but I’m glad I appear to be on track. I have a looser texture and live in medium twists. Thank you for your content. ❤

    Dang Narada!! Why u can't you be a traveling hair stylist? I'm n NJ and totally need you!! My hair is fine with medium density. I have been trying to grow my hair since forever (I'm 50 now) and continue to break more hair than I can retain. It's been so frustrating!! I tried to remoisturize before my hair dries out, blowing it out and twisting it, clay washes, washing every day... u name it, I've tried it. The sides of my hair are weak sauce and grow much slower than the back. So, needless to say, I have a shag/mullet 😂😂😂. If I could post a pic on here, I would JUST to get your help. You are so good at what u do!! I don't trust people to do my hair, but I would definitely come to you bc u know what you're doing!

    So in regards to the mini twist for people with coily kinky hair “type 4” people should do the twist in more of a medium size than a mini size

      I think you can do whatever size you want, depending on how long and how much effort you are willing to put in taking it down and detangling it.

    When you say wash and go's are not ideal for afro-texture hair, I think the topic is very complex. A lot of the time when people are styling their wash and go they are stretching out their natural texture. To stretch out your natural texture and to make it stay you have to use a product that has hold instead of a moisturizing product. You also are not able to use a lot of water for a stretch-out wash and go. think it all depends on how you define your curls. I style my wash and go the same way you do for your clients. They last for a week and a half. My curls stay soft and moist. People are also confusing their natural texture for dryness. I don't find a wash and go any diffrent from something like twist. Both styles can hold moisture and hydration, low tension, and keep hair from thinning. A lot of modern braiders are styling their clients twist with gel causing hair dryness, which is similar to a lot practices by curly hair specilist. Its all about how you go about your styling process.

    Wait is the vitamin water really enough hydration to rewet kinky hair if its completely dry?
    And can't the silicones in it build up?

    My scalp gets oily easily, can i just apply a bit of grease to the ends and midshaft? Im still worried about using grease tbh due to my acne prone skin.

    • @AfrikanHairGod

      @AfrikanHairGod my scalp gets oily and itchy(and smelly sometimes) but my kinky hair, especially at the ends, are really dry...So you don't recommend putting grease on just the midshaft and the ends? Like a dime sized amount?

      @@AfrikanHairGodi dont. Not since ive been natural and consistently washing my hair every week. I dont need medicated shampoo but if i dont wash my hair every week, my scalp feels greasy and start to smell a bit, could even flake, especially at the 2 week mark. My fine kinky hair gets really dry though mainly in the winter(Northeast).

    My hair likes thick leave ins. The Aphogee alone is too watery and light.

    • @iateyursandwiches
      @iateyursandwiches 9 місяців тому +2

      I find it's good when layered under for washngos and for twistouts with mousse. But yeah for low humidity days and cold, probably need to layer it or just use something more moisturizing.

    • @I_am_Musiq94
      @I_am_Musiq94 9 місяців тому +12

      I like thick leave ins too. I just use 2. The Aphogee spray because it’s like using water then use a regular leave in. So hydration (water) and moisture (thicker leave in) then use grease or butter to twist it up or braid it
