It's really great you did this. I loved to do this with my father. He past away 2 month ago. He wanted to learn piano but his mum didn't want to. So he never learned. And as I wanted to learned piano as a child. He repeat the same. So I 've learned alone and with friends later. He was always sad He couldn't play. I never understand why he didn't by a piano and learned.

As someone who was raised by his already-elderly maternal grandmother who eventually died (at 101) from Alzheimer’s Disease, I think that if you possibly can do something like that with him, you probably should do that. Time, especially that spent with loved ones, is such a limited and invaluable resource in our lives, y’know?!

When your mother said "this is the first time I wrote music", I cried. It's so beautiful to me, the idea of commemorating a loss with something as meaningful as a first time. And for a mother to experience a first time is another layer of poetry. This is a beautiful gift you gave her. A precious, loveable present. You must be a very kind and caring person :) Sorry for your loss.

Nahre Sol, you are one of those special teachers. I am a retired opera singer and a voice teacher. But this reminded me of some classes I took with a very special art teacher. I was in my late 40s, and hadn't touched a crayon or paintbrush since I was belittled by an art teacher when I was 12. We all have within us, an artist, a singer, a dancer, and a composer. Thank you for helping us all to remember that expression, is our humanity.

Nahre, this video is so special. I recently lost a parent and due to covid quarantine rules we had had to say goodbye over video, it was strange but intimate at the same time, because we can see and hear everyone very personal farewell very clearly. Composing a melody as a farewell reminds me of that, the process must have been very healing. Thank you so much for sharing. Its a sweet song.

Thank You, Nahre for sharing your family's love and remembrance of your Grandma. Your thoughtfulness in helping your mom during this sad and hard time is truly amazing.

As an “only child”, it’s been hard to process the loss of my parents & grandparents and although I’m happily married, I feel alone in the world. I’m a sync licensing producer and the music I’ve completed since returning to work has all been based on ideas from before my dad’s illness and passing. I think it’s time to write something new. Thx for the inspiration. ❤️

The fact that the music is so bouncy and happy comes, to me, from a place of fearlessness and relaxation. It's very honest.

This was so meaningful to me. My parents were relatively young and healthy, but in 2021 I lost my Dad and then five months later I lost my Mom.
Two years later, I lost my little Brother. Too much for me to handle; too much to discuss here. But in the midst of all this tragedy, I taught myself how to play piano because I had emotions that I could not express with words, but they had to come out… So I “bled” them out on my wife’s childhood piano (if you’ve been there than you know what I mean.)
I felt one note at a time and that progressed into chords, and then to chord progressions, and then to melodies, and complete songs. I just wanted to say thank you for this video. There is healing in music, and composing your own music is a way to express feelings that words cannot convey. I really identified with the sense of loss that you and your mother felt about your grandmother. Your video captures the essence of the healing power of music and composition.

    Hey, Nahre! Greetings from Brazil.
As someone who's doing a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy, I must say I was touched and inspired by your video. You probably know that writing music is one of the many techniques that can be used in the Music Therapy process. It can help patients express their feelings, help them elaborate something that is emotionally hard for them to deal with etc.
The way you created a safe environment in which your mom could feel confident enough to make music and express herself was beautiful and tells pretty much about what a Music Therapy process can be.
Although I guess doing Music Therapy was not your intention there, I think it ressonates a lot with what we do. I congratulate you and your mom. That was beautiful! Best wishes!

First and foremost, my condolences to you and your family for your loss...
If this video and Pink love are half as wholesome as your grandmother was you must have been really happy around her! This was a very nice project idea and thank you both for accepting to share it with us, it's a beautiful song ((:

Nahre, you're one of my favorite people. My father died recently. I wish I could compose him a little waltz. He loved those.
