Unrelated, but would you recommend switching from Durock to GoBoard for shower wall prep? I am sort of tired of lugging around cement board when there are numerous backer boards that should be sufficient enough.
Personally I do not use cement board products, doesn't get you a better shower and you're going to waterproof it anyway so for that reason I use greenboard...but that's just me. I have used foam board products on occasion and they're okay but hard to find sometimes and very very expensive. I don't necessarily recommend using a foam board but if someone gave me a supply every job I'd use it
@@StarrTile great way to put it!! Thank you 🙏🏽 Yeah, I have been trying to avoid that “redundancy” of waterproofing something that’s already *waterproof* Durock $12/board vs GoBoard $23/board isn’t too terrible, but i know I’ll have mixed feelings once I start buying all the tubes of sealant 😂 Extra note: the customers’ have been the kind where you’re working on the pan liner and they ask “is the shower going to be done tomorrow or in like two days you think? 😀” Cheers for the response! 🙌🏽
Wrong.... as I stated in my video it is few and far between but it's an appropriate application sometimes...I've done it 4 times in 22 years and never an issue.
Looks great. Did you use a leveling system to install the new tile? Thanks
AATW
Yes I used leveling system, it is virtually a must with large format tile
@@StarrTile ok thank you. 👍🏻

Never tile over tile. Big mistake

So true
How about some reasons why instead of making a general statement.
Agreed. The tile coach recently did a video of shower fail of a guy that did this.

This old tile brought back memories...put down so much of it. Great vid!
WE LOVE IT !
