Tbh, this series didn't really have to go the "straight" route. Even if they didn't wanna make it a bl, they could just have made it centred around their friendship and companionship. Not all stories need romance to make them wholesome, just seeing the two people go from strangers to becoming essential parts of each other's lives without there being anything romantic, it's beautiful and wholesome too. At the same time, I'm not undermining the fl's role in this, she really did a good job.
I genuinely don't think I've ever been so pissed off about a drama like I was this one. The acting was phenomenal, the characters were so well flushed out. And yet the straightwashed it and fucking robbed us of an amazing BL. Honestly I started watching it knowing the real story but deciding to just put that aside and see how it went. And watching it made me even more upset because the acting was SO DAMN GOOD and I felt like I was being robbed. I just have so much disappointment for the creators (Not original writers) for making that decision. It's fucking 2022 cmon.
I mean.... Korea is incredibly homophobic as a society (not criticism, statistical fact) so I understand why they didn't. I hope one day Koreans feel safe enough to open their arms to LGBT and express themselves honestly. Until then, we'll have to appreciate Korea for the other beautiful facets of its culture ❤

The two male leads are not a couple and they aren't a couple in the webtoon either. The couple is between Jun's brother and Soohyun and it started in the THIRD season of the webtoon. They added it because fans were bitching. about it too much and they wanted them to shut up.

Hear me out....... Yh the girl is nice buuuuuuut to be honest I don't understand why she had to be there in the drama in the first place. This time I was completely against a female protagonist why not have her as a side character as the ML's BFF or something like let both MLs go through their hardship & grow while taking comfort & helping each other the story would be even more interesting.
I think it’s just the usual wide broadcast problems haha bc if she was the side then it’s be to obvious, but it was still funny how they used her to show how joon couldn’t share his problems with her or couldn’t find comfort in her, instead soohyun gave him all that. This is essentially why I am an Ally to LGBTQ+ community because we as humans have so much shit going around, if a person gets warmth and support from another, their gender, identity or preference doesn't matter: from a person to another, love is all that is needed. This drama shouldn't have been made into straight because it is what it is, you can hide love but it can never actually be hidden.

The scenes you juxtaposed in this vid are so powerful, I love the way you showed how their relationship matured and their feelings deepened (webtoon ending is my only accepted canon) and how the way they show care for one another was often the same even though they seemed so different at first. Just clarifying so people won't be looking for the BL expecting to see these two together. That doesn't exist. That's why I much prefer the k-drama xD At least it's far more ambiguous and makes it so it seems they'll end up together in the future when the time is right which we all want, lets be real. Call me deluded, but THIS particular scene MADE the drama what it is! Remove it, and NOTHING in this series makes sense. Or reconciles... I dont know where yall get your information from but this show, nor its webtoon was ever meant to be a bl. Yes there is a bl storyline but no its not between these two. It's between Jun's brother and Soohyun and they added it in the THIRD season and the only reason they added it was because fans were bitching about it.
