ATTETION ANY KIA OPTIMA OWNERS!! Major factory recalls on most engines and safety air bags. Please take it to your nearest dealer and have it done. They paid for my rental car as well. And yes, please leave your thank you's on my comment area! I just saved you $ and a headache.
My 2015 Optima is having this issue as well. Loss of power steering, multiple accessory lights coming on, lights fading and undrivable basically. We've had the engine and battery replaced within the last year. I know there was an HECU update recall as one of the few lawsuits happening to KIA. HECU stands for Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit I believe. Sounds like it would make sense if that just needed to be dealt with. Anyone know if that could be it or is it likely this alternator or battery fuse thing I'm seeing in the comments? Thanks.
I honestly don't know. With mine the dealership keep telling me they fixed it but the next day it ends up having the same issue so in the end I was refunded since they couldn't really fix it. I never saw them relisting the car.
Lol DON'T GET KIA, Have the same problem right now , got 2 from firestone and now need a 3rd think it's an electrical issue at this point , my radio stop working as well ... kia is asking me to pay 700 everything ... ps of course I have no warranty .... fml
Lol how can you blame the whole manufacturer for the car not starting. If you replaced the alternator and the battery you may have a parasitic draw. Do you have any aftermarket accessories? Measure the voltage on the battery with any common multimeter and make sure you have appropriate voltage around 12.8V if you replaced the alternator did you check the connector for any damage such as it melting. Make sure that 12mm ground bolt is secure on that alternator. If you have any aftermarket equipment disconnect it for the day (make sure your battery is fully charged first) and test it for the day. Make sure the car is recognising that all doors (including the hood and trunk) are closed. Off the top of my head I'm not sure if the alternator has a dedicated fuse such as the small 15amp ones but make sure fuses are good too.
Jesse Alvarado i did that and checked every light to make sure nothing was on and replaced the car battery 3 times but this issue would not go away.. I took it to the dealership who said they fixed it next day same problem.. The cars looks and rides good however i trade it in for something else and would never get a kia again..
Mj Hall do what i did. Check the battery connection then have it tested.. I took mine to the dealership after so many times the manager replaced the car because they could not really fix it.. Every time i got the car back the next day i had issues. One day it cut off on the highway that's when the manager replaced the car. I know this does not help but check your battery connection then have it tested
I just resolved this issue it's your main fuse on your positive battery terminal
What the fuse call
Also anytime your are tightening bolts on that alternator make sure you disconnect your battery. Good luck.
Have that car yet to have a single problem its 6 years old
My KiA Optima is Doing the EXACT same thing Rightnow!!
Airicka Nichole have your battery tested.. that's the first thing I did
Abraham Brown Thanks
Was it the battery..

Even if you buy it preowned after 100,000 miles?
@@JCa1n3-3rdt33n I'm not sure. It's worth calling the dealership and asking. All they can say is no.
@@rr6202 indeed thank you for your honesty
@@JCa1n3-3rdt33nEveryone's saying they'll give you the run around, but stay on their ass. It's a 1.4 million car recall. Enjoy your new engine!
Yup they did the same for me I had a rental for almost 3 months and I didn’t have to pay at all
majority of car problems are due to how the owner takes care of the car or drives it.
Stephen McAllister lmfao no. That’s why all these cars are having problems and why car manufacturers recall vehicles

How many mileage on the car

Replace the alternator and problem is fix
I changed the alternator but kept doing it.
My dose that too the RPM goes off then sometimes it dies
Did u ever find the problem
No, after so many back and forth with the dealership they ended up taking the car back and refunding me. T
damn too much problems.
Daniel Le I agree
Perfect ending! I've had days like this...
Just my luck, i had to drop my phone..
Alternator
If you get a flat tire are you going to get rid if the car? Like some women did.
How can you compare an electric problem with a tire problem come on 🙄...
Fix the alternator
Was not the alternator because it was tested along with the battery.
Whatever the reason I no longer have that car.
@@abrahambrown20 yeah I plan on fixing my 2011 Kia and selling it. Never failed me untill these problems came up
Alternator
@@da1deylust all that was checked.
