Let me tell you my experience. I'm in my mid 40s, got infection more than twice. I was working as a delivery partner (not delivery boy) for one app based food delivery aggregator, this was at the beginning of the pandemic drama and still survived with little to no effect as I kept my fitness all throughout my life. But I had to quit that job as it wasn't financially sustainable at all, let alone being called rewarding. Then it was a beautiful days of lockdown as there was zero traffic around the house we lived, which was usually highly polluted. Even peacocks turned around and we could even hear them, never experienced that moment in decades in this area. Then lockdown opened up, bringing in the traffic and the associated pollution. Also by this time, there was a water leakage that spread under the floor and all the nearby walls around it soaked in and developed fungus/mold (this is still not fixed for many reasons).
Then got infected second time and due to the fungi spores things got worse, it is then I decided to do a small experiment. I took out the cycle and started cross country multi day trip, while sleeping in open spaces far away from other population. The idea was to check how my body would cope, and surprisingly I started doing well right after the very first night. In the consequent couple of nights I felt as strong as a bull and there was no indication of any sickness at all. I used to sleep just for 4-5hrs and used to wake up fully pumped up with energy and vitality. So I urge people to get out and live your life well.
I've read that indoor pollution is more than outdoor pollution, and it is true. Dead skin, fungus, paint chemicals, leachment due to poor quality modern furnitures, and most of all the LPG combustion that releases toxic gases which are not expelled out from exhaust systems in many houses in India. I can go on and on, but at the end it only matters how others trust and implement, so I'll save my time and energy for better things. Peace!

It makes no sense to lockdown everyone, that encourages further spread (since 3/4ths of spread is inside the home). If plague masks didn't work against the black plague, being more constrictive and used against a much larger pathogen, then cloth masks are not going to work against this virus (which is 300x smaller by volume than the black plague, and the cloth masks are less restrictive). In fact, cloth masks may spread it more since they eject a slipstream of virions vertically upward into the air. RT-PCR has a variable accuracy range of 5-90%, not including the other statistical headwinds a person has to face when performing an actual, true positive diagnosis (such as applying Bayes analysis which is not being done, and cannot be done without a randomized, controlled trial assessing overall seroprevalence of a specific disease, which, again, would likely rely on the RT-PCR [which has the aforementioned problem I mentioned above.]) This is why they are attempting to tamp down on all colds/flus on the basis of symptoms mostly - due to the test limitation, and as an act of pragmatism now that they have us under control.

This is where Taiwan really stood out to me. People have democratic freedom but they are self-disciplined and wise enough to isolate themselves. Really different when you compare them to the West.

There are such huge case surges in the West because people think they are safe with full vaccination. They have been misled.

I got covid a year ago, never tested it tho, but I've never felt ill before.
Now til this day, I still have a small pain in my chest. It's less now then it was a few months back, But it's like someone stand on your chest, and trying to fold your chest together. I had to stretch like every 30 min to get the feeling I got a lil less tention over my chest. Can also say that after I started to smoke weed again, I recovered way faster. If I timed it so good that I started to smoke as the worst symptoms wore off, I cant tell. But the time I spent before smoking with pain is months longer then now when It's start to wear off,

Never had covid but my neuro illness affecting the automatic nervous system is frequently caused by Covid (it's actually rare otherwise). It will turn your life upside down, it affects virtually every part of your body and much of your time is taken up just by tending to your own disability. You can still live life well in many aspects so it's not the end, but everything is more difficult and takes more time. do whatever you can to protect yourself and others. My case is genetic, but you DON'T know if you are susceptible until it happens.
Don't live in fear, but do live mindful of what is needed to keep that life safe. ❤️
I agree whole heartedly with everything you say. It does take up a lot of time to be able to do some of the things that you want to do. You definitely have to proprietartize what you really want to do. My thing was my artwork. I do some everyday even if it's just a little and it adds up....special Christmas cards for my few friends and my ancient Mom. I don't have many friends but they are solid. I also manage to help my Mom. Fortunately she is in a great Independent Living arrangement with a really good staff. I also have a solid husband of 55 years and we take care of each other. I hope all goes well with you and I wish you all the best in these trying times.

The PCR tests are not infallible and if you are in a line up it is only valid for ten seconds or until someone breaths on you. The best option is to carry a rapid antigen test kit.
By definition they are fallible. They literally work by taking topical samples and then cloning it 20 times to find gene/proteins that are known to be associated with c, but those same proteins are common and shared. They are not unique.
Hate to bust your bubble, all the Air conditioning on a plane including the loo is recycled and filtered before returning to the cabin.
No filter is small enough to contain a pathogen.

That very first cruise ship (diamond princess) at the start of the outbreak is still a great example of why isolation does not work that well (in public spaces like hotels, cruises, planes, hospitals...etc). The passenger was smart and considerate. Wish there were more people like her in the world without screaming and causing panic during flights and cause problems for airline staffs. This virus will be around for a very long time, folks. We have to be prepare and take precaution. I know everyone wants normalcy but it is difficult so we just need to take precaution. If you don’t need to go out somewhere, stay home as you are safer at home. Go out for a walk help reduce stress and anxiety during pandemic.

It sounds just like fibromyalgia. I have had fibromyalgia for over 30 years. Fibromyalgia has all the symptoms of long covid. Well, good luck all you long haulers. Most doctors have told me..."We don't know what causes fibromyalgia and we don't know how to treat it". I have had some help over the years...pain doctors who prescribed some medications that have helped, message therapists and philosopists who have taught me some strength and flexibility exercises..some nutritionists who have helped me with food...and finally I discovered compression. If I wear compression and posture corsets I have more strength to get through my day because one of the things that causes weakness and fatigue in fibromyalgia is blood going to the lower extremities too fast. I wear compression from the time I finish my first thing in the morning exercises until I go to bed. My routine is go to bed early ,(I need a drug protocolfor sleep, rise early, do my strength and flexibility exercises, make my bed, wash up put on my compression apparatus, get dressed and make breakfast. I eat 3 meals and a few snacks every day. I also follow my drug protocol religiously. It has been a really long haul for me but I am content with my life at 74. Good luck and God Bless all you long haulers and may you find good and helpful doctors, therapists, drug protocols, life style routines and even manage a personal life.
I forgot to mention in my comment above....part of my fibromyalgia routine is a glass of red wine every day at 4 in the afternoon before supper which I have preped earlier in the day. I have also had the regular flu shot and 2 shots of vaccine and a booster. I have not had a cold or flu of any kind for 3 years. I did have a rash after the booster and a sore arm. But that is a small price to pay for freedom from an illness that would really make my life miserable on top of the fibromyalgia. FYI, I made a suave from red wine and Aveno lotion 2 Aveno to 1 red wine and it really takes away the itchiness from a rash and is also good to put on minor scalds and the achy hands of arthritis.

@@shravankumarveldurthi5471 The mainstays of my prescription meds are for sleep before bed: amitriptyline 25 mgs, gabapentin 100 mgs, 1/4 of a 3 mg melatonin.
In the morning: gabapentin 100 mgs venlafaxine Hcl 150 mgs.
For supplements I take magnesium and vitamine D. I put some Lionsmane Mushroom powder and 100% coca powder in a cup of black coffee every morning. These are my mainstays.
The question is will restrictions stop this from spreading when it is 3 times more contagious than delta? If no then restrictions will halt the economy even further

It may be pointless as the Omicron kills few people and in the UK 70% of headcolds are Omicron. In the US a million Omicron cases were reported in one day. Too far gone to matter much.

Fortunately Omicron is not so deadly but it's too virulant to stop. Although herd immunity is an foolish outdated mode, popular with people with their head's in the sand, it's okay for now.

It’s simple the vaccine only work for the variant they developed it for that’s why It’s used less against this new variant.
My guess is that unlike developed countries, the developing or under developed countries have stopped monitoring, testing, reporting and vaccinating or simply don't have access to test kits and vaccinations. Getting sick from this virus may be now considered as norm in those countries.

She was negative before flight. But as she felt the symptoms, she tested in flight.
Pity any other passengers desperately needing the loo. As for her testing positive, what difference did it make when she and all passengers were wearing masks to prevent any spread to each other ? All passengers are are treated and treat themselves as potential carriers, regardless of symptoms or negative tests so getting confirmation that she was positive changed nothing. Or perhaps masks don’t work at all? What if half a dozen other passengers decided to test themselves en route, and tested positive, what then ? Would they all pile in the loos together?
It’s the fear mongering. The media, pharma, and politicians have instigated such panic that people are turning on each other like nazi Germany.

We should ask everyone's self, how many times a year we get cold symptoms or worst even before the years of covid era.

What led you to that conclusion?
Unfortunately depending on the Government it also means lockdowns and borders closing which just the repeat of the last 2 years but without much of the stimulus money, So how many business and jobs can survive that long. And this story also shows the new international/interstate travel risk as part of that is you might be quarantined with the associated cost depending on insurance cover or being trapped.

@@edwinrodrigues9747 I forgot to mention in my comment above....part of my fibromyalgia routine is a glass of red wine every day at 4 in the afternoon before supper which I have preped earlier in the day. I have also had the regular flu shot and 2 shots of vaccine and a booster. I have not had a cold or flu of any kind for 3 years. I did have a rash after the booster and a sore arm. But that is a small price to pay for freedom from an illness that would really make my life miserable on topic the fibromyalgia. FYI, I made a suave from red wine and Aveno lotion 2 Aveno to 1 red wine and it really takes away the itchiness from a rash and is also good to put on minor scalds and the achy hands of arthritis.

Does not matter that she isolated in the toilet. Already virus had been spread in the aircraft. This includes the whole path of boarding and security checks. It would have made little difference if she had just returned to her seat. Kudos for the attempt to protect others though.

The omicron variant seems to be more contagious but less deadly than other variants. The next variant could be far more deadly and infectious, we won't know until it happens. All we can do is still take precautions and mask up.
