Clint met the actress playing the Waitress in the 1950's on the set of a movie. She was a Playboy Playmate turned actress, very few roles. She had financial issues from time to time. Clint always liked her so he would put her in his movies every few years. The last several movies she did were all Eastwood productions.

"Go ahead: make my day. " is probably the most iconic line of all the Dirty Harry films. Perhaps that even started the sound-bite fad in action movies, like "I'll be back" and what-not. Some of them are just plain cheesy, but Clint Eastwood pulled them off.

This movie has one of my favorite Clint Eastwood lines. In a scene before this, he grabs a guy by the shirt collar and says, "Listen, punk. To me, you're nothing but dog shit. And lots of things can happen to dog shit. It can get scraped off the bottom of your shoe, it can dry up and get blown away by the wind, or it can get stepped on and squished. So, be careful where the dog shits you."

You have to react to Gran Torino. I lot of people, myself included, feel it is his best role, with Unforgiven a close second. Both of these are when he is older. You have to react to Dirty Harry, which started that whole series of films. Another great movie of his, which I believe was his first directorial film, was Play Misty For Me, which is definitely NOT what people have become used to. A real melodrama in the classic mold.

Among all of his excellent films as an action star, his directorial debut, in which he also played the lead character, - Play misty for me - was also a good movie.
Eastwood has been very successful in his career, as an actor, producer, and director. He has made a lot of really good movies. Especially within the last 15 years or so with movies like flags of our fathers, Letters from Iwo Jima, and Sully, all of which Eastwood directed.

My wonderful dad used to get that vein in his forehead when he was angry with us. I love him dearly as i know he loved and still loves us but when that vein popped up you knew you'd got his blood 6:24 pressure up and I'd back down from whatever i was doing really quick. Hes 81 now and these days i just respect him far too much to do anything to upset him. In his 30 years as a professional firefighter and eventually cheif officer he saved many lives. He was a firm but very loving father who showed 100% commitment to his family. I know he was a brave firefighter as when we lived at a fire station he was on call 24/7 and mum and i used to have to occasionally go to fires and traffic accidents in his emergency response car. I saw my dad walk into blazing buildings like id walk into a supermarket 😊. I saw him then and now as my hero😊

For a Few Dollars More. The Italian producer made Clint Eastwood famous as a tough loner in the old west, in these movies. Eastwood called the guy from America some time later and asked how the movies were doing, The Italian produce lied and said not good, even though the lines to get in to watch them went around the block! Clint discovered he was being robbed of the royalties and fixed the problem. So many famous short quotes from Clint Eastwood movies. "Make my day" And his later films were gritty, hard to watch for me, but top of the line in quality and impact. Dirty Harry carried a Smith and Wesson .44 magnum. The most powerful handgun in the world in those days. The psychic quote was because the lady DA in the film thinks that cops don't get to respond to a hunch. They have to do everything by the book, not some sort of psychic power. -- The word fear was never applied to Dirty Harry

The lady pouring the sugar was in several movies in the 50s. Tarentula, the Giant Claw and the Black scorpion spring to mind. Her name is Mara Corday.

I remember watching this at the drive-in as a very young age when it came out with my parents. I had to cover my eyes during the adult parts 😂. Anyone remember drive-ins and the mosquito repellent coils you burned? Oh the memories!

You have to watch the Dirty Harry movie series. They're very well-written and address events in San Francisco of the early 70s. Harry's weapon of choice, is a S&W 44 magnum, "the most powerful handgun in the world." Clint is an American treasure at almost 92!

Clint got started on TV in the Western series Rawhide. He played a character named Rowdy Yates, just one member of the cast, whom he's been quoted as saying he thought was too young for him to portray even back then. I loved Westerns as a kid in the early 1960s but don't remember much about them--I have read about Clint Eastwood's start. One of these days I intend to get around to watching the DVDs of the Rawhide series that I bought a few years ago. Like his "spaghetti Westerns" (so named because they were filmed in Italy in terrain that looked like and was meant to represent the undeveloped Old West in America) and the Dirty Harry films (controversial in their day due to the violence. ) I was in my early teens back then but saw them in later years. Found your page here by searching specifically for reactions to Dirty Harry. I have been watching a lot of old-song reactions here on UA-cam in the past couple of weeks. (I turned 67 in August and old-man nostalgia is starting to get to me. 😊)

Dirty harry has so many good possibilities. In the mayor's office ,the mayor doesnt want any more trouble like the Fillmore district......and harry says...... or when harry stops the bank robbery and proceeds to tell the suspect about his pistols ability.

there was a firearms expert who said of most actors when they fire a gun in movies they close their eyes when they fire them only a few handfuls actually keep their eyes open Clint Eastwood and John Wayne and a few older actors being the exception so if you look closely you will notice that
