The fact that you can fix all the things on your boat is just incredible. Mechanical prowess like yours is exceedingly rare in this digital world. Good on you, brother.
I have to admit when I first came across your channel I wasn’t impressed. But your determination and honesty endears you. I love your comment that you “don’t do maintenance these days, I do repairs!” I am sure so many of us can relate to that! I certainly can. Not least to my marriage. Well done Seadog…you did the impossible….you won me over 😊
Surely an “portable “ in-line water purification system would be easy to put together. A hose to fit onto the tap through a ceramic, charcoal & infrared filters and then into your containers. Or even a few hiking style life straws.
Interesting to know you lived in Egypt for 4 years diving! I love hearing about the past adventures stories and people as much as I love watching the current events unfolding
Did a lot of snorkeling in Fiji many years ago on a Blue Lagoon cruise. Woman passenger was quite scared of sharks. She asked the Fijian snorkel leader “what do I do if I encounter a shark”. He replied just say BULA and he won’t bother you. 😂😂
Love the way Barry surveys the wreckage/mess in the cabin and says what we need is 'a big clean up'. Then proceeds to disappear off to shore for pizza and beer and forget all about the big clean up 😂😂 I think the term 'Grotty Yachty' was invented for Barry 😁😁
😂 (15:35) Just had my good morning laugh: ..’Most of my life is trying to figure out what’s going to go wrong next and how to work around that’ Thanks Barry, you’re brilliant in your own way
Hi 'Buddy' - never realised that Barry !👌 you really are an old dogfish 🤣😊👍 Great episode. All of them are and we never miss an episode with you. Time again for a hearty sea song in Fiji? Have a great time. Paul & Kath GB
Love your channel Barry. You’re the kinda guy I would love to chill with in a nice Cornwall pub, have a few games of pool and talk about your adventures while having a few (or more) beverages. One of my favourite channels. Keep it up.
Whaaaa…. It’s not all sailing and sunshine? Well that doesn’t affect my dreams. I almost made it to Fiji for a scuba trip in 1999, but Y2K fears at work cancelled my trip, and then nothing happened. Happy adventuring in 2023!
Someday, not here on such a public forum. I love to know the expenditures incurred. Seeing those expensive cans of paint and whatnot got me thinking. Also all the fees to enter the many locations and haul outs adds up.
I have binged watched your videos my entire holidays and now want to sail the world on my non existing boat and my non existing experience. Love your videos, keep up your great adventures mate
Get a small boat to gain some experience (I'd recommend one of the Hobie Island models, they are easy to sail and hard to break) then work your way up if you enjoy it.
It is amazing that as big as the world is, It is actually quite small. What a cool story to have randomly met up with someone from so long ago in such a remote and unlikely place. Very cool story sir
You make the most wonderful sailing adventures , I lived on the sea and travelled many places that you have been so every time you come up with a new adventure I open it up right away it give me good memories, now living in Thailand cultivating mushrooms, take care and wish you good winds and a Happy new Year . Joel
Small world....Had a similar experience having met a guy on the beach in Oahu...Years later at a Toronto Blue Jays game, knew exactly who he was...and him me...Glad u made it through hell on the water...
I met a homeless guy in Oahu that was from about 3 miles away in my home town. Of course we bought him lunch, much to the chagrin of the restaurant owner (I'M paying and I say he can be in here!!). Nice guy in a small world! He said "if you're gonna be homeless, be warm!".
That brought back so many wonderful memories from dozens of holidays in the Fiji Islands. Sadly we can no longer afford to make the trip. One year I met a group of sailors at Musket Cove Bula Bar who had sailed through a storm on their way from New Zealand. One yacht had lost its mast and another lost a crew member over the side during the night - fortunately they found him. He was still in shock when I met him in the bar. The fleet was going on to Vanuatu but the guy was taking a flight back to UK - can't say I blame him. Hope you call in to Musket Cove - we used to have a timeshare there but the lease ended and it may now be a Chinese owned resort. Safe travels.
Hope you got a rest after that journey and the repairs. And for us non-boaties it is interesting to see how all the basic stuff like laundry is achieved in different locations. Your videos are so well filmed, we really appreciate the amount of work that goes into them.
That view of the post-passage bomb site that the saloon invariably becomes brought back memories - none of them good. Good to see you're being sensible and using the little NS dink motor again; that (almost) makes up for fixing the motor-board with cable ties, not even I did owt that daft!
Hey your looking good, fiji is this a jumping off place for your next destination. Can't wait to hear from you again. The sailing brother's are huge fans of you, rick
Very enjoyable watching your videos Barry ,,,, you make me wanna buy a boat to live on and sail around lol , I don't think my dog and cat would agree to that though lol .. We will be living on the road soon.
I’ve followed you half way around the world Barry and I’ve loved every episode. I’m now looking forward to the second half, fair winds and bon voyage 😁
Hey gal mexico only down the track! Told a couple o guys that everything you been through (not a flash looking rich yank) you sailed with Rick done it tough emotionally in the past So enjoy that gorgeous boat look forward to Mexico reunion cheers n beers gal Marty Australia
Respect Barry. I'm currently sailing around your old county of Cornwall until March but I have 'four wheels on my wagon.' As you have so often made clear you have to be ready for the unexpected and things will definitely go wrong. The difference is that I have two feet under my motorhome and not 500 fathoms! Respect.
You're a man of many talents, Barry, and lived and visited in places some of us can only dream about! Rough last passage that, but safely landed. Bottled water for cooking/drinking might be wise. 😉 Fair winds. 🗿⛵️⚓️
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The fact that you can fix all the things on your boat is just incredible. Mechanical prowess like yours is exceedingly rare in this digital world. Good on you, brother.
It makes my day when you drop a new video. You were the only good thing to come out of lockdown that I found your channel.
Enjoy this sailing ⛵️ video! Enjoy 😘⛵️😀 Mike from Missouri
"I don't do maintenance. I do repairs. LOL! Sounds like me and my old Ford Ranger! Great Mountain Road shots. Love it!
Yellow fever water!
Wonderful Videos.

Again, I majorly jealous of my favorite man on UA-cam!!! That place is so beautiful!

After 27 years y'all had one last adventure for old-time sakes
Good Ol' Charming, Indefatigable Barry Perrins...
Love the new opening and closing. AND, I am so grateful that outtakes are (or, may be) back. Looking forward to me. Thanks as always, carry on Barry!
Old Seadog rocks and rolls 💪🏽. You got through the bs bureaucracy. Chill out and enjoy🍻.
Did a lot of snorkeling in Fiji many years ago on a Blue Lagoon cruise. Woman passenger was quite scared of sharks. She asked the Fijian snorkel leader “what do I do if I encounter a shark”. He replied just say BULA and he won’t bother you. 😂😂
Yeah Baby ! a new video, thank you Barry...

right you are

The whole world is a bit skewiff at the moment. You are so lucky to be where you are. Well done for surviving that passage!

Yep, one day as he passes on the way back up country 😊
@@jasonward6062 no any time soon.
I dont think the dude who sails around the world solo wants to hang out in a Cornwall pub and drink but I could be wrong
@@chompers11 I believe he likes a pint or two.
Folk from all over the world rock up in Newlyn, it’s not all bad 😂
Whaaaa…. It’s not all sailing and sunshine? Well that doesn’t affect my dreams. I almost made it to Fiji for a scuba trip in 1999, but Y2K fears at work cancelled my trip, and then nothing happened.

It’s never too late. Fiji is waiting for you.
Its about time. Great to see you back on the sea. Let the adventures begin...AGAIN.

My 2 and a half years just fly by !

You know that while there were many years in between meeting these people, to you it’s almost as if it was yesterday.
Good times

Jeesh Barry, thank God.

Hello from the UK Barry.

Thanks for the new video. It was a nice way to spend my break at work, but from what I saw you are working more than me.

(18:22) "That's not gonna come off". Famous last words. All the best, Barry.
Looking forward to sharing your 2023 with you Barry. I hope you have a really good one. P
Water, beer, and kava!
Well done, Barry. You are definitely enjoying a life well lived. Long may the adventure continue.
Nothing more permanent than a temporary repair
I've always dragged my clothes in a mesh bag behind the boat and rinsed them with fresh water. It was not too bad.
Glad you got some beer, Barry, well done. I hope all goes well with your boat. :)
I like the new graphics!
Not the most important fix but the beer fix is the most enjoyable. Another great video.
Thanks Old Dog !! Great vid
Hope you got a rest after that journey and the repairs. And for us non-boaties it is interesting to see how all the basic stuff like laundry is achieved in different locations. Your videos are so well filmed, we really appreciate the amount of work that goes into them.
Nice guitar lick Barry to end the episode
Hey, a new opening. I like it.
Hey, thanks!
Loved your video Barry Stay safe mate!!!
Fugi on Mate!!!
Good, honest stuff Barry. The maintenance v repair never goes away but as you’re still breathing it must be going generally OK.
Keep it up Chief.
Wonderful your met The beautiful owner of footloose sailing vessel. You need a collapsible trolley so you can move more beer
Brilllllliant Barry - best anchor ⚓️ beer pizza 🍕 ever!

what I learned today - Berry was Bob White before he had a UA-cam channel. :)
you're an amazing story teller, that's for sure!
Amazing how small this world is? Travelers are on a common route so this increases your chances. Enjoy your visit in Fiji
Thanks for the video- great stuff.
Barry, you're the best! What a fun video, including all the ups and downs.
Thank you Barry for Fiji...
Great video again👍🏻
Hope you have a fantastic time in Fiji
