The engines made after 2014...are. all good engines..H-D has finally got their shit together...anyone who has a bike after 2014 knows what I say is fact now...bout damn time too!...
Let traffic do what traffic does. well said. Just did a 1921 mile trip to/from Milwaukee on my 2017 RG Ultra. It gets a little hairy going around tractor trailers on a 2 lane turnpike around a mountain. Sometimes ya just got to get in line and follow around them turns. I bought the bike on a Thursday, changed fluids, adjusted the bars, did a couple of test rides and set off for Milwaukee that Monday. She only had 7300 miles on her when I get her. What a great machine. Plenty of power and very comfortable. Much better wind protection than the old style fairing. I love it.
It’s an incredible machine. Just waiting for fall now cause I have not even turned it on since I returned from Texas. Give this one a watch its not done well in the Algo but was a solid trip. ua-cam.com/video/iPEJprq020Q/v-deo.html
Gi Joe appreciate the comment. You’re definitely correct these motorcycles are not cheap anyway you look at it. There was a point in my life I thought Harley overcharged for their products. But, I remember the first time I jumped on a Harley Road Glide and it was like night and day better than the Honda Shadow I was riding at that time. It took me roughly three more years, but I eventually bought one. Didn’t start with the Ultra though. This bike actually now my 2nd Ultra, as I mentioned the last one was black 17 Ultra. You know like most things in life you pay for what you get. The bike is just quality, and in all my miles I’ve had not one issue on all 4 bikes. And trust me if riding through 100 plus degrees in Utah hundreds of miles a day didn’t cause an issue, that’s a quality product no bones about it.
Again, Honda has had many of the features that are just now coming out on Harley for 25 years. Nice to see them catching up. Built in vs. Bolted, clamped and zip tied on. Don't get me wrong, I love Harley!
Keith Chrysler Just look up changing the Air filter on a Gold Wing and you will understand, built in. Honda just puts a lot of plastic around it and puts as many obstacles in your way, to do normal maintenance. You can not see the real bike.
@@michaelohara2161You are right!I have a 96 Goldwing and it's bad enough for maintenance but not nearly as bad as these new ones! Love my 96. It's like new yet and we ride it quite a bit. Not trading it off
I have the 16 RGLIDE ultra in vivid black. Since October of 2021 I've put 2g miles on it . I love it to a point . The road glide was my first bike ever . One thing I didn't pit to much thought towards was the 103 engine v twin . I should have gotten the 114 , other than lacking a bit of power my bike is nice . I added the quick release tour pack and a license plate bracket that keeps the plate beneath the tail light . My next bike will also be a ultra/ limited in black . I ride my bike most if the time with no tour pack . Its alot lighter and looks very sporty. Good video bud. Thanks for sharing. Pete
I also bought 2019 Road Glide Ultra, changed handle bars an windshield. love the bike. I didnt like the wheel barrel handle bars so i changed to a 14" bar with a greater angle between grips, gives me a little more leverage. Love the review, Do all Maimtence myself. Easy to work on. Love the review BTY Your dad's Indian looks great too.
Adam: Thanks for your interesting video. I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into it. I just bought a 2018 (used, 3170 miles) FLTRX and am watching a lot of videos to see what all I'd like to do to it. You mention at 4:55 into the video that you upgraded to a 15" KlockWerks windshield. So I went to the KlockWerks site and looked at their windshields. The 15" they show for RoadGlides is called the 15" "Pro Touring" Flare windshield (p/n 2310-0566) . It appears to be much more upright and clunkier looking than the sleek, laid-back shield on your bike. Then I looked at the 14" "Sport" Flare windshield (p/n 2310-0570), and it appears to have a similar rake, shape and look as the windshield shown in your video. I was just wondering if you could post the actual KlockWerks part number of your windshield for us. Thanks, Jonanneg2000
Enjoyed your review. I'm picking up a new (previous model year) 2019 RG Ultra tomorrow. I started the whole journey to buying with a look at the exact bike (down to the colour combo) you have, but it was sold by the time I contacted the dealer. The one I'm buying is 'vivid black'. Expect a big change from my '07 Street Glide, although I'll miss 'The Silver Bullet'. I was particularly happy to hear the stock seat is comfy, as I had a Mustang on my SG, and didn't look forward to having to drop another $700 on one for my new RG. Near the end of the riding season year, but am hoping to get the first service in before the snow flies. Thanks for the review!
I got a 2017 RG and agree they are designed to eat up hwy miles. Very nice cruising. The color I chose is black onyx. In the sun light it shows the metal flake like yours. Nice ride enjoy!
IronSteed ride in good health. Always dress like you’re going down too. My helmet saved my life in 2017 don’t be that guy in a T- shirt that looks cool, too many people paying attention to their cell phones driving around these days.
Sorry Bro. but, there is no oil cooler on your bike... what you were looking at and thought was your oil cooler is actually the coolant pump for the head cooling. Just wanted to point you in the right direction. Nice video, I ride a 2016 RG Ultra and am considering a used 2019 with low kms.
Nice review. However, the Road Glide models are more top heavy than the batwing models which makes steering corrections slower. Sorry to hear about your fathers Indian with the oil leak.
BobsGT235 yeah with the Indian it was a real pain almost ruined the trip. Dad made it home and they has the bike for two solid weeks. Took the entire thing apart and replaced the lower cases or something. Indian covered it and gave him an extended engine warranty, but still not cool. His last Roadmaster he has 48k miles and not one issue.
Nashville Exotic Cars Indain Master oil case crack ? Whoa ! Find it hard to believe ! Newer bike ! ❤️ The Indain Roadmaster. It doesn’t have 4 valves per cylinder tho ... guess all that heat can be a problem.
gghostrrider the 19 does not come with heated grips, I added them. The 2020 Limited does come with them. I actually negotiated the grips as part of the deal.
I’m really sold on the road glide just because of the weighted fork. My only concern is maintenance. A lot of reviews says HD break down a lot. What’s your opinion on that? Or people are just haters? People say Goldwing is better but the Harley just has me sold.
Terel SC haters man. Keep the oil changed and service done when it needs to and it will go for a long time. I’ve had not one issue with any of my 4 Harley’s, being 3 Road Glides and 1 Ultra Limited. I mean this one did 4,043 miles in 13 days in heat that literally exceeded 95 for hundreds of miles. The Roadmaster has oil issues, current at the dealership and has been for going on two weeks...
I like my Ultra Classic...it eats up hwy miles...with ...no engine problems at all...those whiners...about break downs have not been on any H-D bike made after 2014....there are no engine problems...unless you abuse the hell out of the bike....so piss on all the whiners....they can cry all they want...
Do you experience any helmet buffeting, i have a street glide and looking to tour but the buffeting is terrible even with tall windsheild and other dumb gadgets
I didn’t know producing videos was a requirement for commenting about how your video utterly wasted my time. If you have such a thin skin perhaps you should find another line of work.
Bud owens it comes with break in oil for the first 1k, then after that I put in full synthetic. The bike just passed 7k today, and I recently had an oil change done for the riding season.
Charles Smith ah even a sub compact is tight for that spot. I did keep an extra clip in it though, plus shades. Other side is phone or open as needed stuff. Sometimes it could be gloves you just never know. Love having the space though, Harley did well with the front storage options.

Phil 68-71 USN I agree I’ve got around 30k miles on these engines and have not had one single issue in 4 bikes. 103, 2 107’s, and now the 114.

These two motorcycles are more expensive than a majority of cars. This is a really beautiful motorcycle for someone who has some riding experience.

A little but the RG has the air ducts that really help, and really depends on how tall you are and helmet.
