Such a great spirit this man had the privilege of hearing him perform just last night and I can say confidently I was blown away ! Such a great guy and great didgeridoo player
1997 0r 98. me watching television in Switzerland., my name is Mark and i watched Mark and his Cousin playing the didgeridoo on German festival. hoocked ever since! Greeting to Down under Mates
try the split tube version...saw down the length and hollow out with a gouge or similar then glue back together...its not traditional but it does work with what youve got....In the UK a hollow tree is literally that with a hole a foot across..not gonna work for a didge ...although maybe if there's a side branch you could make a double bass Didge
They're meant to be hollow already from termites but 99.99% of them are hollowed out with really long chisels from either end. Also idk why he's using a chisel on the outside a spoke shave will do that in 1/100th the time. Basically everything you read or hear about these instruments is one thing; but the way all of them are produced is another. The instrument is claimed to be ancient yet predominantly didn't exist prior to the 60's, just like aboriginal dot art (I think that was 1976 when it was invented, interesting story look it up). So I suspect it's like most 'cultural' things in this world, a cool story and a profitable trade.
i love the content of this video but i wont lie it has been easily the least helpful video ive ever watched coming in from literlally knowing nothing about digeridoos lol

I marvel at the quick reverb and rhythmic quality with multiple tones at the same time...awesome

Awesome didges. Great sound .
Good video but felt it was not complete. What about the inside of the wood? Chisel outside to cone but how do we decore the wood?
The core has been eaten by termites, it's already hollowed out.
