- Thank you for tuning in today. On Memorial Day, I decided to partake in the traditional 3:00 PM bugling rite and sound Taps from a parking garage rooftop. Last time I was there, I tossed a cheap Chinese bugle off of the rooftop, so it was good to return for the sake of a nobler cause. Please enjoy. Happy belated Memorial Day to you all. Hope you enjoy some good old-fashioned bugling on a bugle with an awful lot of valves... don't worry, I didn't use any of them! ;)
Thank you Sam for honoring those men and women who gave so much.
I personally cannot play Taps because I cry.
I completely understand. Anytime I play Taps, the shakes come over me, even as someone who hasn’t been immediately affected by any wars. It’s extremely moving.
Very cool tradition to keep up ❤
Thank you so much, Luke!
That was brilliant. As someone who played a similar bugle call(the last post) in the uk last november when we have our rememberance day, i know how hard it can be to play a bugle call with all that is attached to it.
It’s interesting, isn’t it? On the surface we might well just be playing the harmonic series, but the impact of what we do runs so deep that it’s difficult not to get emotional or mess things up.
@@SamuelPlaysBrass absolutley especially when playing it on a cornet (im a tubist)
Great video Samuel!👍👍👍
Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Glad you are enjoying the Mod Four. That makes at least 2 Pujés that bugled on Memorial Day. I played my CTR outside my shop into the rolling Palouse hills.
Glad to contribute to the statistic! Did you get a recording of your Taps?
@@SamuelPlaysBrass I did not. It just evaporated into the air.
🇺🇸 EXCELLENT Sam EXCELLENT 🇺🇸
Thank you Tomas!
Didn't you have a Boy Scout bugle that you tried to kill off the parking garage? LOL
With great reverence, really nice!
In my area, the "bugle" player sounds taps and sounds the same as he does in a polka band.
That was no Boy Scout bugle-that was a $13 factory-made disgrace! This Puje definitely makes a more “reverent” sound. Sorry to hear about your bugler. Tough luck there…
2:12 is perhaps the first glimpse UA-cam has gotten of the legendary Oldsmobile that hasn’t moved in at least three years
Is this Spokane lore?
@@SamuelPlaysBrass Probably not Spokane lore, but certainly Gonzaga lore
You mean you actually don't own a bugle that hasn't been dropped off a roof?
LOL, that's right. I never really bothered much with bugles aside from that dreadful $13 one.
