Just subscribed to your channel found you through Danny it’s great to find a nice knowledgeable garden in Scotland looking forward to watching all your videos I’m up in Inverness❤
Like you, I love sweet peas Mags and they were the very first seeds that I ever saved, last year. I tried an autumn sowing on the 7th of November last year and they are looking really well, so will try sowing some more, the end of this month, to hopefully extend the flowering season. Thanks for a really wonderful video.
@ I planted a living willow arch at the entrance to my garden and I grew them up that last year, but I will have way more plants this year, so will have to come up with some other ideas this year.
I am absolutely dreadful at growing sweetpeas Mags. When I grow them from seed I have poor germination and when I buy them in I still seem to kill them. Armed with your tips I'm now feeling confident for this coming season 😂 If they don't work I'm blaming you 😉 Great video with lots of fab info, thank you very much 😊
Just subscribed to your channel. I have seen notifications many times but wasn't tempted to watch as I had no idea what the channel was about because of the name. But, after watching you on Danny's channel, grow up, and hearing the reason why dinosaurs are part of the name, I decided to drop by. Great video- I really enjoyed it. I am sowing my sweet peas and sugar snap peas tomorrow. Today I sowed sweet peppers, aubergines, chillies, and onions. So exciting. Love seed sowing time. Happy growing 🙂
Hi there and thanks for stopping by. That is really useful information re the channel name. Danny actually inferred it might be a bit unwieldy and not obvious for people to know what the channel is about. Can I ask what you thought the channel was about based on the name? Sound like you are on top of sowing this month. Good luck with the sweetpeas today. All the best Mags
@@mycountrygardenchannel I really wasn't sure- maybe a quirky artistor I never thought it was a channel made by a serious and knowledgeable gardener. So pleased you were on Danny's chat to nudge me to take a look. So good to find someone who takes theit flower growing to the same levels as their vegetable growing. I love both typs of garden but I think my flowers have the edge. Happy growing 🙂
😂😂 ok we said no sowing until Feb. I haven’t got around to sorting flowers yet to see what needs direct or stratification etc but soon. Have a fantastic week Mags, Ali 😶🌫️🥶🇨🇦
Hi Jackie. Look out for Grandiflora types. They tend to be have smaller flowers but loads of them and they smell divine. A more modern sp that is highly scented is a purpley blue one called Our Harry. I grew that for years although haven't for a while now.
Hiya Mags. You should be able to get vermiculite at a garden centre like Dobbies or Caulders. If they haven’t got stocks you can def get it on Amazon. Take care. Mags
Oh I’ve only just found you! Loving your post

Just got into sweet peas a couple yrs ago. Can't beat the fragrance🥰🥰🥰
It's so easy to get hooked on them 😁
Yet to sow ours Mags. Must get onto it 🎉
Plenty of time yet. I’ll be sowing more next month too. Happy gardening. 😊😊😊
Love sweet peas. Getting mine sown after this cold spell I think! Cheers for the video mags, your sweet peas look brilliant
Thanks Jim. I do love these flowers. Good luck with yours. It's milder up here today - thank goodness!
@@mycountrygardenchannel just the way I like it. I'm hoping for an early spring, followed by a nice long warm summer, with rain every few days 😁
@@downtoearthwithjim I'd sign up for that 😄
@@mycountrygardenchannel me too! 🙂
This will be my first year sowing sweet peas, so thanks for the tips!
You are so welcome! Good luck with them.

That’s great Peter. Hopefully you will have some awesome Sweetpeas. What do you grow them up?

The willow arch sounds fabulous. Maybe you need some tee pees and obelisks too. 😊
