I didn’t want to get involved with the Goliath incident, but I hope everyone knows and understands that everything CS said recollecting what happened is exactly what went down verbatim. No shock/embellishment for views, that kind of thing. These type of events unfortunately happen too often at my home park of SFOG and it’s completely unacceptable on Managements end. After next year with the intamin ultra surf makes SFOG a 14 coaster park. Thats a major park and a lineup that many other parks would kill for. Start acting like a major player and Cedar Fair, take note here. SFOG is a ton of rewarding fun for all when properly ran.
yeah, that really isn't okay, I hope so much that Cedar Fair changes that, they were up there before park close, they should have sent another train, sure, it would have gotten back past park close, but that is okay, they were fully able to send another train
Most people say that SFOG should be a top tier park or in fact currently refered as "the almost great park". Management is a issue that the park currently has in which is holding them back from being a top tier park. With the merger taking place, it will help them improve and operate like a Cedar Fair park or how SFFT does if it is correctly managed. They have so much potential in any means.
5:17 this is me in the background. I want to say I’m still very shocked that I got to meet Taylor at my home park. He was very respectful and I hope the best for you and Sarah.
In all fairness during the opening of Kid Flash the employees were singing and dancing to 'have a Six Flags day' and at the end there you did in fact have a six flags day. 😂😂😂
Yup, that experience with Goliath sounds like a definitive Six Flags day. There's no excuse for treatment like that, especially when customers have already paid extra for lockers.
I love that brake run. Letting the trains slide through the station and roll back is such a nice touch after the overly-aggressive brakes of other kid coasters.
That ops situation at the end of the day reminds me of something similar that happened at SFMM to my friend. He was trying to get last ride on Goliath (go figure), and the line was about 30 mins by the time the park closed, and they just didn’t send any trains after so those people waiting in line didn’t get to ride.
I unironically agree that Monster Mansion is the best thing at Over Georgia. It is way better than what most people would expect from Six Flags in terms of themed attractions. That ride had better remain untouched with the new company. I'd love to see the chain build rides like this with the Looney Tunes characters because that IP is not at all well used by Six Flags but a highly immersive dark ride would be a much better use. Monster Mansion ought to be their standard.
I have been dying to see if anyone would create a roller coaster track with LED lighting and wow, here it is. This track exceeded my imagination by adding effects, and on three surfaces no less! Can't wait to see some nighttime footage of it.😃
That's what I hope Cedar Fair changes about the Six Flags parks: lack of professionalism. Cedar Fair runs their parks like a well-oiled machine, with quick dispatch times and a consistent set of rules (like not closing coasters early). Six Flags mostly lets the ride ops decide things, which is why you get standards changing depending on the park, ride, and the current crew. And if they get lazy and shut the ride down early, tough luck.
I’ve loved SFOG since the 80s, but the exact same thing that happened to you guys with the Goliath line happened to me at SFOG’s Coaster Fest event this past summer, where they announced the new UltraSurf. Attendees were supposed to have ERT in Metropolis until 8:30 PM. It was written right on the lanyard. I entered Superman’s line just after EIGHT, a half hour before ERT was supposed to end. The employee manning the entrance let me through without a word. When I got to the station, a train was just leaving. Ride ops told me it was the last train of the night and made me walk all the way back out that very long entrance. I even showed them the lanyard that said 8:30. Nope. I hope you guys were able to get some resolution from the park, especially after paying for a locker. On the second day of Coaster Fest, I told my experience to one of the managers, and she said it never should have happened and that she would speak to the crew. BTW, my 15yo daughter and I very much enjoyed meeting you both at the Kid Flash opening on Saturday. We were the ones in line directly ahead of you after the ribbon-cutting, and we ended up just behind you on the red train. Super cool getting a credit (my 120th and daughter’s 76th) with Coaster Studios after watching many of your videos together when we started credit counting this summer. You were both as kind as could be, even when she asked for a second pic with you guys. She hasn’t stopped talking about it, and you guys have a fan for life.
Wow, I can't believe the new Monster Mansion mascots! I for one welcome our new Cedar Fair overlords, the problems like you had with Goliath need to end and they don't surprise me.
I found the yellow side to be perfectly smooth and the red side to have a vibration like y’all said. It’s such a fun kiddy coaster and looks amazing at night. A little airtime too lol
The Goliath situation is very strange. I’ve never heard of it happening. Hopefully this is a one and only situation and doesn’t spread to all parks in the chain.
@CoasterStudios I was thinking the same thing. I've been walking up right at closing and the person that is closing the line is playing around yelling hurry hurry hurry so I feel this is a one off isolated incident.
Sorry you had to deal with that but I still would have reported that employee. So the new kid coaster is really cool, and maybe Knott's could be getting something like that in Camp Snoopy.
Holy balls, there's literally no shade for the queue. That's gonna be a NIGHTMARE for folks on a hot day. Alot of people are going to leave sunburnt due to standing in this line..
That may change between now and next summer. Six Flags was in a rush to get this ride completed and open before the end of the season with the new Intamin coaster going in next year. So they may still add a covering over the queue.
All of the flat rides in that area except for the Swings have no covering for their queues. No trees or anything. The sun is directly beaming on everyone in those lines.
It wasn't that bad back in the 90s. They must have cut a lot of the trees back over the years. Mindbenders queue line used to feel like you were walking into a forest
@@theweakestlink2278 Mindbender is a great queue it's covered by trees the entire time. But I'm taking about the 3 more recent flat rides they put in. Those 2 spinning rides and that Catwoman ride.
@@ave0828 I've seen video of the area but haven't been to this park since the 2000s. Hopefully with cedar fair now managing the company maybe they can improve some of these kinds of issues.
Cool that they give the kiddie coaster this much fanfare...i think they realize this is a fun model and really flexible, so it will lead to massive dividends in the future
Ugh, what happened with Goliath sucks. Same kind of thing happened to me at Cedar Point with Millennium, I was in line long before park close, but right at close they kicked what must've been an hour and a half worth of people out of the line and claimed the ride needed to close cause it was "too dark". It was a shame too cause that was my only chance to get a front row/night ride on that thing.
if I had to guess as to why Goliath's ops sent the last train before park closure, it might be because they're not given enough time after park closure to close down the ride, pack their things, hand the supervisors their stuff (keys, documentation, flash pass scanner) before they stop being paid, and no one wants to do unpaid work. If you get paid, hypothetically, until 10 minutes after park closure, but it takes 15 minutes to finish your job for the day, you'll end up closing the ride 5 minutes early to make sure you don't keep working after you stop getting paid that being said, as a ride op myself, the idea that they'd let someone into the queue before closing it, and then send the last train of the day before the queue is fully empty is unacceptable. At least at the rides I've operated, we always make sure that everyone who gets in the queue (legitimately, we'll kick you out if you jump a fence or reopen the entrance doors after we've closed them) does the ride and only send the last train when we're certain there's no one left in the queue
That makes me mad that people often say this park is great all around nd our employees of my home park are the ones with stank attitudes nd lazy energy. Hope the merge can look into our main problem here nd fix it fast💯SFOG is elite but the way it’s ran is holding it back💯sorry Taylor nd Sarah🖤
At my home park(six flags great America) there was a situation where they stated in line for X-Flight that for the remaining people(like 10 people) in the station, to go to an empty row so they could send the train out with everyone on, this was also like 30 min after park close, idk y over Georgia didn’t do that too
I was at SFOG both Saturday and Sunday but left early on both days to marathon AF1. AF1 blew my mind. Didn't try Kid Flash, I like coasters but I don't need every one for a credit collection. Also, the Goliath ride ops soured my experience with stapling me down, soured an otherwise great ride.
The situation with Goliath is unfortunate, but not something you typically see. Probably some training is needed. That sad bit aside, what a cool little attraction for kids. That looks ten times better than any kiddie coaster I've ridden (Gravity Group family-flavored woodies aside--more of them, by the way, please). I imagine, particularly at night, that LED lighting would be awesome. Good job Skyline. I think you hit a home run.
Wait WHAT? You guys were there this Sunday? Me and my friend were celebrating our birthdays that day! It’s a great lil kiddy family coaster combo! Park was so dead that day so we got to ride almost everything as well lol Nevermind ir was another day
The funny thing is that on Golieath they closed it early but when I was at Ceadr Point the park closes at 10 before it closed he let us keep riding if no one was in our row but if there is one open you can move. Then the park closed and he kept sending us around even though the queue was closed I think it might of been because the ride was breaking down a lot during the day? But he was the best and we got 13 rides in a row that night!
I LOVE MONSTER MANSION!! I did manage to preview one of the cars for Kid Flash in June. The last statement has happened to me on my visit in October but they closed the line 5 minutes before park close (put the trash bin at the entrance)
I don't have the application you posted to have your top 10. So here it is. Keep in mind I have only been to 5 parks 1 viper Great America, 2 viper Magic Mountain, 3 Whizzer Great America, 4 American Eagle, 5 Batman, 6 Vertical Velocity, 7 Revolution, 8 Ninja, 9 shockwave Great America defunct, 10 can't think of the name wooden coaster at Six Flags Saint Louis
Many six flags have great attractions. Magic Mountain has the most coasters (but not close to the best lineup), but attractions alone... to enthusiasts anyway, are not supposed to solely create the park experience. Its management, operations, FOOD, cleanliness, landscaping, etc. This is where CF needs to step in an address six flags parks. I would prefer zero new rides for the next 2 years in any of the parks if they would only invest in those things. The rides are already there, now make it actually a pleasant experience to access those rides we all love.
Hey Y'all. I Love You Guys. It sucks to hear about the ending to your day at Over Georgia. I had a similar but not really situation happen to me on Sunday at Carowinds. I've been every Sunday for the last few months for my marathon therapy session with Dr. Fury which will be ending on November 12 when they close for the season other than Winterfest events. I woke up, drove 45 miles to the park and got to the gate only to find out that my 2023 silver season pass expired on October 29. I almost went ape sh** on the people at the front gate because I was not able to use a 2023 season pass on a day in 2023 when Carowinds, not Scarowinds, not Winterfest, not anyFest, was open. It's Tuesday now and I'm still fired up about it.....I NEED MY THERAPY!!
I rode the Fiesta Texas version last week. It's fun and a great addition but definitely a little more aggressive than i thought it would be for a family ride, I saw several small kids crying real tears getting off the ride LOL I'm also worried about how long those video panels will last
I mean, it looks like a fun kids' ride, but not the BEST. Big Bear Mountain stomps the psghetti coaster, though this model is still great for its own reasons. It's got pretty lights and is wonderfully compact, and it's short enough to appeal to most kids.
A big Booooo to that Goliath crew!... That being said...I went to SFOG for the first time this year and now I regret not going in Monster Mansion. I didn't know what it was. Also...Goliath isn't that great and I thought Twisted Cyclone was a fantastic little RMC. oh and....that new coaster looks great for family fun!
Maybe this is home park apathy speaking, but I have never understood the fanaticism for Monster Mansion. It's cute, sure, but that's about it. Justice League is my go-to dark ride here. That said, I have NEVER seen walk-around characters of the MM cast, I didn't know they had costumes of them, that's wild. Can't wait to try Kid Flash myself sometime.
I know six flags parks are not interested in looking good and honestly I don’t care either because I’m there for the thrills. But omg this thing is an eyesore
@@CoasterStudios don’t get me wrong, it’s awesome that we get a new coaster but imagine them taking out the joker coaster in the kids area, pave over that land somehow, THEN BAM! Kid flash cosmic coaster!
Here's my thoughts on the Goliath incident..you would never see that a cp or ki...I'm 100 confident that they will make sure everyone gets to ride before the ride shuts down....example I was just at cp for halloweekends..got in line for the giant wheel 10 mins before park close...we rode it 30 mins after park close..
I feel like they missed a trick by not making those coasters a mobius loop, so you'd get to ride both tracks regardless of which side you wait for. Also, stories like yours are why I've had zero interest in visiting any Six Flags park (besides possibly Magic Mountain since it has several iconic rides). They just don't seem like they care much about operations and guest satisfaction.
Your experience with Goliath falls right in line with all my experiences at that park. I have had horrendous experiences trying to spend the day at six flags over Georgia on four occasions. I won’t go into the details, but I have been verbally accosted by staff at their entrance, kicked out of the park twice due to rain, which they refused to operate even indoor rides in, i’ve spent hours on a ride platform because a supervisor couldn’t be bothered to have a one minute conversation with the staff, I’ve had a season pass that they made an error on which caused me to have 45 minute delays at every single park entrance I went to the entire season and they would not fix it, and I have never had guest relations give a crap about any of it. It’s a beautiful park, and I love the property, but the operations are the most infuriating, disappointing and outrageous I have ever experienced out of over 150 parks in 30 years of traveling. Also, I am 1000% with you on our love of monster mansion and the walk around characters are ❤❤❤❤

Alternate title: having a six flags day
A big Booooo to that Goliath crew!... That being said...I went to SFOG for the first time this year and now I regret not going in Monster Mansion. I didn't know what it was. Also...Goliath isn't that great and I thought Twisted Cyclone was a fantastic little RMC. oh and....that new coaster looks great for family fun!
Xcelerator is open!!
Same thing happened to me at Dollywood with lightening rod where I was in the line before park closed and they just didn’t care.
3:11 this music is a jam! 😆 Whats it called?
Technically Six Flags Fiesta Texas has the first P'Sghetti since it did open a day eariler but they look like cool coaster.
Will you go to the one in fiesta Texas maybe next year when the new dc area is done?
hopefully sooner than that!
Did the one in Texas and boy was it rattling like crazy. Uncomfortable.
Looks like a GREAT... KIDS coaster! Reminds me of sprocket rocket or other somewhat thrilling KIDS coasters.
It's weird without the usual lift hill fence forgot the name
That would not happen at Hersheypark with what happed at SFOG
6:36 Bees want to be on the internet too am i right? So did the people at 5:04
Did you get to meet Chris Gray from Skyline? He's a great guy.
We've met Chris, yup! He's great.
No upstop wheels?
I know six flags parks are not interested in looking good and honestly I don’t care either because I’m there for the thrills. But omg this thing is an eyesore
I’m keep asking this, Why is a coaster themed around a flash character in the Gotham area? and not in the DC kids area?
lol true, didn't think of that
@@CoasterStudios don’t get me wrong, it’s awesome that we get a new coaster but imagine them taking out the joker coaster in the kids area, pave over that land somehow, THEN BAM! Kid flash cosmic coaster!
Here's my thoughts on the Goliath incident..you would never see that a cp or ki...I'm 100 confident that they will make sure everyone gets to ride before the ride shuts down....example I was just at cp for halloweekends..got in line for the giant wheel 10 mins before park close...we rode it 30 mins after park close..
i cant wait to go in june im at crowinds rn
Hope RMC does this
Ride ops at SFOG are very disengaged.
It’s normally hit or miss for the majority. They have been improving on the bright side
Hmm never heard of that with Goliath. I understand they want to go home still though. If u have multiple saying let them ride let them ride
Great video Taylor and Sarah, what happened to you towards the end of your visit at Six Flags Over Georgia in my opinion is unacceptable
really? Its not the end of the world
I feel like they missed a trick by not making those coasters a mobius loop, so you'd get to ride both tracks regardless of which side you wait for.
Also, stories like yours are why I've had zero interest in visiting any Six Flags park (besides possibly Magic Mountain since it has several iconic rides). They just don't seem like they care much about operations and guest satisfaction.
One train ops. Those screens on the rails are neat, but I can see that failing fast and never being fixed due to cost.
Also, I am 1000% with you on our love of monster mansion and the walk around characters are ❤❤❤❤
I still don't understand how the trains work without upstop wheels
Cedar Fair would never, better operations coming soon woohoo
So 2 tracks mean 2 credits ??
definitely!
The real question is how does it compare to the true king of kiddie coasters: Kozmo's Kurves?
If there is one thing that I hope happens with the merger? It a bunch of new management for six flags parks.
